< Mateo 22 >
1 Yesu de mmebu ahorow kyerɛɛ sɛnea Ɔsoro Ahenni no te.
Again Jesus spoke to them in figurative language.
2 Ose, “Ɔsoro Ahenni no te sɛ ɔhene bi a ne babarima hyiaa ayeforo na ɔtoo pon maa no.
"The Kingdom of the Heavens," He said, "may be compared to a king who celebrated the marriage of his son,
3 Ɔtoo nsa frɛɛ nnipa pii. Bere no dui no, ɔnam tumi so somaa nʼasomfo sɛ wɔnkɔfrɛfrɛ nnipa no na wɔmmra. Nanso nnipa no amma.
and sent his servants to call the invited guests to the wedding, but they were unwilling to come.
4 “Ɔsan somaa nʼasomfo afoforo se, ‘Monkɔka nkyerɛ wɔn se, wɔawie biribiara. Wɔakum mʼanantwi ne me nyɛmmoa de anoa aduan awie. Mommra ayeforo no ase mmedidi!’
"Again he sent other servants with a message to those who were invited. "'My breakfast is now ready," he said, 'my bullocks and fat cattle are killed, and every preparation is made: come to the wedding.'
5 “Nanso wɔammua no. Obi kɔɔ nʼafum. Ɔfoforo nso kodii ne gua.
"They however gave no heed, but went, one to his home in the country, another to his business;
6 Afoforo nso kyeree nʼasomfo no hwee wɔn, pirapiraa wɔn, kunkum ebinom nso.
and the rest seized the king's servants, maltreated them, and murdered them.
7 Ɔhene no tee nea nnipa no ayɛ nʼasomfo no, ne bo fuwii. Ɔsomaa nʼasraafo ma wokokunkum awudifo no, hyew wɔn kurow no pasaa.
So the king's anger was stirred, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burnt their city.
8 “Ɔsan frɛɛ nʼasomfo ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, ‘Wɔawie ayeforo aduan no. Nanso wɔn a mefrɛɛ wɔn no mfata sɛ wɔba aponto no ase.
Then he said to his servants, "'The wedding banquet is ready, but those who were invited were unworthy of it.
9 Enti monkɔ mmɔnten so na obiara a mubehu no no, momfrɛ no mmra aponto no ase.’
Go out therefore to the crossroads, and everybody you meet invite to the wedding.'
10 Asomfo no fii adi kɔɔ mmɔnten so kɔfrɛɛ nnipa dodow a wohuu wɔn no nyinaa. Wɔfrɛɛ nnipa pa ne nnipa bɔne, maa ɔdan a wɔtoo pon wɔ mu no yɛɛ ma.
"So they went out into the roads and gathered together all they could find, both bad and good, and the banqueting hall was filled with guests.
11 “Ɔhene no baa hɔ sɛ ɔrebɛhwɛ nnipa a wɔaba no, ohuu obi a ɔnhyɛ ayeforohyia atade wɔ hɔ.
"Now the king came in to see the guests; and among them he discovered one who was not wearing a wedding-robe.
12 Obisaa no se, ‘Damfo, ɛyɛɛ dɛn na wonhyɛ ayeforohyia atade, na wutumi baa ha?’ Nanso damfo no antumi ammua.
"'My friend,' he said, 'how is it that you came in here without a wedding robe?'
13 “Afei ɔhene no ka kyerɛɛ nʼasomfo no se, ‘Monkyekyere ne nan ne ne nsa na monkɔtow no nkyene akyirikyiri sum mu, nea osu ne setwɛre wɔ no.’
"The man stood speechless. Then the king said to the servants, "'Bind him hand and foot and fling him into the darkness outside: there will be the weeping aloud and the gnashing of teeth.'
14 “Wɔafrɛ bebree, nanso kakraa bi na wɔpaw wɔn.”
"For there are many called, but few chosen."
15 Farisifo no tuu Yesu ho agyina, pɛɛ ɔkwan bi a wɔbɛfa nʼanom asɛm so anya no akyere no.
Then the Pharisees went and consulted together how they might entrap Him in His conversation.
16 Wosii no gyinae se, wɔbɛsoma wɔn nnipa bi ne Herodefo aba Yesu nkyɛn abebisa no se, “Owura, yenim sɛ woyɛ ɔnokwafo, na wonam nokware kwan so kyerɛ nnipa kwan a ɛkɔ Onyankopɔn nkyɛn a wunsuro akyi asɛm, efisɛ wonhwɛ nnipa anim.
So they sent to Him their disciples together with the Herodians; who said, "Teacher, we know that you are truthful and that you faithfully teach God's truth; and that no fear of man misleads you, for you are not biased by men's wealth or rank.
17 Ka ma yentie. Eye sɛ woyi tow ma Roma Hempɔn Kaesare anaa enye?”
Give us your judgement therefore: is it allowable for us to pay a poll-tax to Caesar, or not?"
18 Yesu huu wɔn adwemmɔne no ma ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mo nyaatwomfo! Adɛn nti na mopɛ sɛ mode nnaadaa sɔ me hwɛ?
Perceiving their wickedness, Jesus replied, "Why are you hypocrites trying to ensnare me?
19 Momfa sika a wɔde yi tow no bi nkyerɛ me.” Wɔde bi kyerɛɛ no.
Show me the tribute coin." And they brought Him a shilling.
20 Obisaa wɔn se, “Hena mfoni na ɛda so, na hena din nso na ɛwɔ so?”
"Whose likeness and inscription," He asked, "is this?"
21 Wobuaa se, “Kaesare.” Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Ɛno de, momfa Kaesare de mma Kaesare, na momfa Onyankopɔn de mma Onyankopɔn.”
"Caesar's," they replied. "Pay therefore," He rejoined, "what is Caesar's to Caesar; and what is God's to God."
22 Ne mmuae a ɔmaa wɔn no maa wɔn ho dwiriw wɔn ma wogyaw no hɔ kɔe.
They heard this, and were astonished; then left Him, and went their way.
23 Da no ara, Sadukifo a wonnye owusɔre nni no baa Yesu nkyɛn bebisaa no se,
On the same day a party of Sadducees came to Him, contending that there is no resurrection. And they put this case to Him.
24 “Owura, Mose kae se, ‘Sɛ ɔbarima bi anwo na owu a, ne nuabarima mfa ne yere no kunabea na ɔne no nwo mma owufo no.
"Teacher," they said, "Moses enjoined, 'If a man die childless, his brother shall marry his widow, and raise up a family for him.'
25 Anuanom baason bi ne yɛn tenaa ha. Ɔpanyin no waree a wanwo ba na owui. Enti ne nua a ɔto so abien no faa ne yere no kunabea.
Now we had among us seven brothers. The eldest of them married, but died childless, leaving his wife to his brother.
26 Nea ɔto so abien no nso wui, maa nea ɔto so abiɛsa no faa ɔbea no kunabea. Ɔno nso wui a wanwo ba, maa ɔfoforo nso faa ɔbea no kunabea. Eyi toaa so ara kosii sɛ anuanom baason no nyinaa waree ɔbea no.
So also did the second and the third, down to the seventh,
27 Nea edi akyi ne sɛ, ɔbea no nso wui.
till the woman also died, after surviving them all.
28 Ɛno nti, owusɔrebere no, nnipa baason yi mu hena na ɔbea no bɛyɛ ne yere? Efisɛ wɔn nyinaa waree no!’”
At the Resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? for they all married her."
29 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Mo mfomso a moayɛ no fi nim a munnim Kyerɛwsɛm no ne Onyankopɔn tumi a ɔwɔ no!
The reply of Jesus was, "You are in error, through ignorance of the Scriptures and of the power of God.
30 Na owusɔrebere no, aware nni hɔ; obiara bɛyɛ sɛ abɔfo a wɔwɔ ɔsoro no.
For in the Resurrection, men neither marry nor are women given in marriage, but they are like angels in Heaven.
31 Nea ɛfa owusɔre no ho no nso, monkenkan nea Onyankopɔn aka afa ho no pɛn? Munhu sɛ Onyankopɔn kasa kyerɛɛ mo bere a ɔkae se,
But as to the Resurrection of the dead, have you never read what God says to you,
32 ‘Mene Abraham Nyankopɔn, Isak Nyankopɔn ne Yakob Nyankopɔn no?’ Eyi kyerɛ sɛ, Onyankopɔn nyɛ awufo Nyankopɔn na mmom, ateasefo Nyankopɔn.”
'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of dead, but of living men."
33 Nnipadɔm no tee ne nkyerɛkyerɛ no, ɛyɛɛ wɔn nwonwa.
All the crowd heard this, and were filled with amazement at His teaching.
34 Farisifo no tee sɛ Yesu abu afa Sadukifo no so no, wokohyiaa Yesu.
Now the Pharisees came up when they heard that He had silenced the Sadducees,
35 Wɔn mu baako a ɔyɛ mmaranimfo bisaa Yesu se,
and one of them, an expounder of the Law, asked Him as a test question,
36 “Owura, Mose mmaransɛm no mu nea ɛwɔ he koraa na ɛkyɛn ne nyinaa?”
"Teacher, which is the greatest Commandment in the Law?"
37 Yesu buaa no se, “‘Dɔ Awurade, wo Nyankopɔn, wo koma nyinaa mu ne wo kra nyinaa mu ne wʼadwene nyinaa mu.’
"'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God,'" He answered, "'with thy whole heart, thy whole soul, thy whole mind.'
38 Eyi ne mmaransɛm no mu nea edi kan na ɛkyɛn ne nyinaa.
This is the greatest and foremost Commandment.
39 Nea ɛto so abien no te sɛ ɛno ara: ‘Dɔ wo yɔnko sɛ wo ho.’
And the second is similar to it: 'Thou shalt love thy fellow man as much as thyself.'
40 Mose mmaransɛm ne adiyifo no nkyerɛkyerɛ no nyinaa gyina saa mmaransɛm abien yi so.”
The whole of the Law and the Prophets is summed up in these two Commandments."
41 Farisifo no twaa Yesu ho hyiae no, obisaa wɔn se,
While the Pharisees were still assembled there, Jesus put a question to them.
42 “Dɛn na mususuw fa Agyenkwa no ho? Hena ba ne no?” Wobuaa no se, “Dawid Ba.”
"What think you about the Christ," He said, "whose son is He?" "David's," they replied.
43 Yesu bisaa wɔn se “Ɛno de, adɛn na Dawid nam Honhom Kronkron so frɛ no ‘Awurade?’ Efisɛ Dawid kae se,
"How then," He asked, "does David, taught by the Spirit, call Him Lord, when he says,
44 “‘Awurade ka kyerɛɛ me wura se, “Tena me nifa kosi sɛ mɛma woadi wʼatamfo nyinaa so.”’
"'The Lord said to my Lord, sit at My right hand until I have put thy foes beneath thy feet'?
45 Sɛ Dawid frɛ no ‘Awurade’ a, ɛno de, ɛyɛɛ dɛn na Kristo no yɛ ne ba?”
"If therefore David calls Him Lord, how can He be his son?"
46 Obiara antumi ammua. Eyi akyi nso, obiara antumi ammisa no nsɛm bio.
No one could say a word in reply, nor from that day did any one venture again to put a question to Him.
