< Luka 2 >

1 Saa bere no na Kaesare Augusto a na ɔyɛ Roma hempɔn no hyɛɛ mmara bi se wɔnkan ne man no mu nnipa nyinaa.
Now it happened in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole inhabited world should be enrolled.
2 Saa nnipakan yi ne nea edi kan wɔ Kirenio a ɔyɛ amrado wɔ Siria no bere so.
This first census took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.
3 Obiara kɔɔ ne kurom ma wɔkyerɛw ne din.
So everyone was traveling, each to his own town, to enroll himself.
4 Esiane sɛ na Yosef yɛ Ɔhene Dawid busuani nti, na ɛsɛ sɛ ofi Galilea kurow a wɔfrɛ no Nasaret mu kɔ Betlehem a ɛwɔ Yudea.
So Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of Natsareth town, into Judea to the city of David, that is called Bethlehem, because he was of David's ‘house’, that is, line of descent,
5 Ɔne ne yere Maria a saa bere no na ɔyem no na wɔkɔe.
to enroll himself with Mary, the woman who had been betrothed to him, who was pregnant.
6 Wɔwɔ Betlehem no, awo kaa Maria,
So it happened that when they got there the days for her to give birth were completed;
7 na ɔwoo ɔbarima. Wɔde kuntu kyekyeree abofra no ho de no too mmoa adididaka mu, efisɛ wɔannya baabi ansoɛ wɔ ahɔhobea hɔ.
and she gave birth to her firstborn Son, wrapped Him in pieces of cloth and laid Him in the manger, because there was no room for them in the lodging place.
8 Anadwo no ara, na nguanhwɛfo bi nso wɔ sare so baabi rewɛn wɔn nguan.
Now there were shepherds in that same area, staying out in the field and keeping the nightly watches over their flock.
9 Mpofirim, ɔsoro ɔbɔfo baa wɔn nkyɛn, na Onyankopɔn anuonyam hyerɛn twaa wɔn ho hyia maa wɔn ho dwiriw wɔn.
When wow, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10 Ɔsoro ɔbɔfo no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Munnsuro, mede anigyesɛm rebrɛ mo ne amansan nyinaa.
The angel said to them: “Do not be afraid because listen, I am announcing the most joyful news to you, which will be to all the people!
11 Nnɛ wɔawo Agyenkwa a ɔne Kristo Awurade no ama mo wɔ Dawid kurom.
You see, today, in David's city, a Savior was born to you, who is Lord Christ!
12 Eyi ne nsɛnkyerɛnne a mubehu. Mubehu akokoaa a wɔde kuntu akyekyere ne ho a ɔda mmoa adididaka mu.”
And this is the sign to you: you will find a Baby wrapped in pieces of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Amono mu hɔ ara, abɔfokuw bɛkaa ɔbɔfo a ɔwɔ hɔ no ho ma wɔtoo ayeyi dwom se,
Suddenly a multitude of the heavenly army was with the angel praising God and saying,
14 “Anuonyam nka Ɔsorosoro Nyankopɔn, na asomdwoe mmra wɔn a wɔsɔ nʼani wɔ asase so no so.”
“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward mankind!”
15 Bere a abɔfokuw yi san kɔɔ ɔsoro no, nguanhwɛfo no keka kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Momma yɛnkɔ Betlehem hɔ na yɛnkɔhwɛ saa anwonwasɛm a asi wɔ hɔ a Awurade ada no adi akyerɛ yɛn yi.”
So when the angels went away from them into the sky the men, the shepherds, said to one another, “Hey, let's go to Bethlehem and see this event that has taken place, that the Lord made known to us!”
16 Wɔde ahoɔhare kɔɔ Betlehem kohuu Maria ne Yosef. Na wohuu abofra no nso sɛ ɔda mmoa adididaka mu.
So they went in a hurry and located both Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger.
17 Nguanhwɛfo no huu abofra no, wɔkaa ne ho asɛm a ɔsoro ɔbɔfo no bɛka kyerɛɛ wɔn no nyinaa kyerɛɛ nnipa a wɔahyia wo hɔ no.
And having seen they spread an exact account of the saying that had been spoken to them concerning this Child.
18 Wɔn a wɔtee nguanhwɛfo yi asɛm no nyinaa ho dwiriw wɔn.
All who heard marveled at the things told them by the shepherds.
19 Nanso Maria de, ɔde saa nsɛm a ɔtee no nyinaa siee ne tirim dwenee ho.
As for Mary, she treasured all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.
20 Nguanhwɛfo no kohuu nea ɔbɔfo no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn no, wɔde anigye san wɔn akyi kɔɔ nea wɔn nguan no wɔ hɔ. Wɔrekɔ no nyinaa, na wɔreyi Onyankopɔn ayɛ.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God over all that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.
21 Abofra no dii nnaawɔtwe no, wɔtoo ne din Yesu sɛnea ɔsoro ɔbɔfo no kyerɛɛ ansa na wɔrenyinsɛn no no. Da no ara na wotwaa no twetia.
When eight days were completed so as to circumcise Him, His name was indeed called JESUS, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
22 Bere duu sɛ Yosef ne Maria kodwira wɔn ho sɛnea Mose mmara kyerɛ no, wɔde abofra no kɔɔ Yerusalem sɛ wɔde no rekɔhyɛ Onyankopɔn nsa.
And when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
23 Sɛnea Mose mmara no kyerɛ no, “Sɛ ɔbea wo nʼabakan na ɔyɛ ɔbarima a wɔde no ma Awurade.”
(just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens a womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),
24 Wɔkɔɔ asɔredan no mu hɔ nso kɔbɔɔ afɔre, sɛnea mmara no kyerɛ no wɔde nturukuku abien anaa mmorɔnoma mma abien na ɛbɔ afɔre no.
and to offer a sacrifice according to what was specified in the Lord's Law, “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons”.
25 Da no na ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Simeon a ɔte Yerusalem no nso wɔ asɔredan mu hɔ bi. Na Simeon yɛ onipa trenee, ɔhotefo a Honhom Kronkron ahyɛ no ma a na daa ɔhwɛ Agyenkwa no kwan.
Well now, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; this man was righteous and devout, expectantly waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 Ɔno na na Honhom Kronkron ayi akyerɛ no se ɔrenwu kosi sɛ obehu Agyenkwa a Awurade asra no no.
(It had been revealed to him repeatedly by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he saw the Lord's Messiah.)
27 Enti bere a Maria ne Yosef duu asɔredan no mu sɛ wɔde abofra no rekɔma Awurade sɛnea mmara no te no,
So by the Spirit he came into the temple; and when the parents brought the Child Jesus in, to do concerning Him according to the custom of the law,
28 wɔkɔtoo Simeon nso wɔ hɔ, na Simeon gyee abofra no, hyɛɛ Awurade anuonyam se,
Simeon took Him into his arms and blessed God and said:
29 “Awurade, afei ma wʼakoa nwu wɔ asomdwoe mu
“Sovereign, now You can release your slave in peace, according to Your word,
30 efisɛ mʼani ahu Agyenkwa
because my eyes have seen Your salvation,
31 a wohyɛɛ me ne ho bɔ no.
which You have prepared before the face of all peoples:
32 Ɔno ne hann a ɛbɛhyerɛn wiase nyinaa na wahyɛ wo man Israel anuonyam!”
a light for revelation to Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.”
33 Nsɛm a wɔka faa Yesu ho no yɛɛ nʼagya Yosef ne ne na Maria nwonwa.
And Joseph and His mother were marveling at the things being spoken concerning Him.
34 Afei Simeon hyiraa wɔn na ɔka kyerɛɛ ne na Maria se, “Saa abofra yi so na Israelfo mu dodow no ara nkwagye ne wɔn asehwe begyina.
Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother: “Listen, this One is appointed to bring about the fall and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that is spoken against,
35 Na ɔbɛma dodow no ara tirim ahintasɛm ada adi; na wo Maria de, wubesi apini wɔ wo mu.”
so that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed (furthermore, a sword will pass through your own soul also).”
36 Saa bere no, na Fanuel babea odiyifo Ana a ofi Aser abusua mu no nso wɔ hɔ bi. Na Ana yɛ obi a wanyin. Ɔwaree ne mmabaabere mu ne ne kunu tenae mfe ason pɛ na ne kunu no wui.
Also there was a prophetess Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher—she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity
37 Ne kunu no wu akyi no, ɔyɛɛ kuna kosii sɛ odii mfe aduɔwɔtwe anan, na bere biara nso na ɔwɔ asɔredan mu de mmuadadi ne mpaebɔ som Onyankopɔn.
and having been a widow for about eighty-four years—who did not depart from the temple, serving God with fastings and petitions night and day.
38 Saa bere no ara na ɔno nso begyinaa hɔ bi yii Onyankopɔn ayɛ saa ara. Ɔkaa abofra no ho asɛm kyerɛɛ wɔn a wɔretwɛn ogye a obegye Yerusalem no nyinaa.
Well she, having come up at that very moment, started praising the Lord, and kept on speaking of Him to all those in Jerusalem who were looking for redemption.
39 Wowiee amanne sɛnea Awurade mmara kyerɛ no, wɔsan kɔɔ wɔn kurom Nasaret a ɛwɔ Galilea,
When they had completed everything, according to the law of the Lord, they went back to Galilee, to their own town, Natsareth.
40 Abofra no nyinii, na nyansa hyɛɛ no ma, na na Onyankopɔn adom nso wɔ ne so.
And the Child kept growing and being strengthened in spirit, being filled with wisdom; yes, the grace of God was upon Him.
41 Afe biara na Yesu awofo kɔ Yerusalem kodi Twam Afahyɛ no.
Now every year His parents would go to Jerusalem to the feast of the Passover;
42 Sɛnea na wɔn amanne te no, Yesu dii mfe dumien no, nʼawofo de no kɔɔ Yerusalem kodii Twam Afahyɛ no.
so when He was twelve years old they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.
43 Wowiee afahyɛ no di a wɔresan akɔ wɔn kurom no, Yesu kaa Yerusalem a nʼawofo no nnim.
When they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but Joseph and His mother did not know it.
44 Wotwaa da koro kwan a wɔn ani baa wɔn ho so sɛ Yesu nka wɔn ho no, wofii ase bisabisaa nʼase fii wɔn abusuafo ne amannifo nkyɛn.
Supposing Him to be in the caravan, they went a day's journey and then started looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances.
45 Na wɔanhu no no, wɔsan baa Yerusalem bɛhwehwɛɛ no.
Not finding Him, they returned to Jerusalem seeking Him.
46 Ne nnansa akyi no, wokohuu no wɔ Yerusalem asɔredan mu sɛ ɔte akyerɛkyerɛfo bi a wɔahyia mu ntam na ɔretie wɔn na ɔrebisabisa wɔn nsɛm.
So it happened that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
47 Yesu nyansa ne ne nimdeɛ a ɛdaa adi wɔ ne mmuae nyinaa mu no, yɛɛ nnipa a na wɔretie no no nyinaa nwonwa.
(All who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.)
48 Wɔkɔtoo no sɛ ɔte akyerɛkyerɛfo no mfimfini retie wɔn no, ɛyɛɛ wɔn nwonwa. Ne na frɛɛ no bisaa no se, “Me ba, adɛn na woyɛ yɛn saa? Woama me ne wʼagya ahwehwɛ wo abrɛ.”
So upon seeing Him they were amazed, and His mother said to Him: “Son, why have you treated us like this? Look, your father and I have been searching for you in distress.”
49 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Adɛn nti na mohwehwɛ me? Munnim sɛ ɛyɛ mʼasɛde sɛ metena mʼagya fi som no ana?”
So He said to them: “Why were you seeking me? Didn't you know that I must be about my Father's concerns?”
50 Nanso nʼawofo no ante nea ɔkae no ase.
But they did not understand the statement that He made to them.
51 Yesu ne nʼawofo kɔɔ Nasaret no, ɔyɛɛ osetie maa wɔn. Ne na de nsɛm a esisii no nyinaa siee ne tirim.
Then He went down with them and came to Natsareth, and continued subordinating Himself to them; His mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
52 Yesu nyinii nyansa mu ne honam fam, na onyaa Onyankopɔn ne nnipa anim adom.
And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
