< Yosua 2 >
1 Afei, Yosua somaa akwansrafo baanu wɔ kokoa mu fii Israelfo atenae a ɛwɔ Sitim. Ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Monkɔsra asase a ɛda Yordan agya no, ne titiriw nea atwa Yeriko ho ahyia no.” Enti, mmarima baanu no sii mu koduu oguamanfo bi a ne din de Rahab fi, na wɔtenaa hɔ anadwo no.
And Joshua the son of Nun sent from Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go, view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into the house of a harlot, named Rahab, and lodged there.
2 Obi kɔka kyerɛɛ Yerikohene se, “Anadwo yi ara, Israelfo no bi aba ha a wɔrebɛsra asase yi.”
And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to-night of the children of Israel, to search out the country.
3 Enti Yerikohene soma kɔɔ Rahab nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Fa mmarima a wɔabɛsoɛ wo no ma yɛn. Wɔyɛ akwansrafo a wɔrebɛsra yɛn asase yi ahwehwɛ ɔkwan a wɔbɛfa so atow ahyɛ yɛn so.”
And the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that have come to thee, who have entered into thy house: for they have come to search out all the country.
4 Rahab a na ɔde mmarima baanu no asie no buae se, “Mmarima no baa me ha de, nanso minnim faako a wofi bae.
And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men to me, but I knew not whence they [were]:
5 Ade reyɛ asa a wɔrebɛtoto kuropɔn no apon mu no na wɔkɔe, nso manhu faako a wɔfae. Sɛ moyɛ ntɛm tiw wɔn a, ebia, mobɛto wɔn.”
And it came to pass [about the time] of shutting the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went, I know not: pursue after them quickly; for ye will overtake them.
6 (Nanso, na ɔde wɔn akɔhyɛ ɔdan atifi, akohintaw ɔfo a waboa ano akuwakuw ase.)
But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
7 Enti, ɔhene asomafo no sii mu sɛ wɔrekɔhwehwɛ akwansrafo no wɔ ɔkwan a ɛkɔ Asubɔnten Yordan asutwabea hɔ. Asomafo no fi hɔ ara pɛ na wɔtotoo kuropɔn no apon mu.
And the men pursued them the way to Jordan to the fords: and as soon as they who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.
8 Ansa na akwansrafo no rebɛda anadwo no, Rahab kɔɔ ɔdan no atifi ne wɔn kɔkasae se,
And before they had lain down, she came up to them upon the roof;
9 “Minim sɛ Awurade de saa asase yi ama mo. Yɛn nyinaa suro mo. Yɛn mu biara abɔ huboa.
And she said to the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror hath fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 Yɛate sɛnea Awurade maa Po Kɔkɔɔ no yow ma munyaa kwan faa mu bere a mufii Misraim no. Na yenim sɛnea moyɛɛ Sihon ne Og a na wɔyɛ Amorifo ahemfo wɔ Asubɔnten Yordan apuei fam no ne sɛnea mosɛee wɔn nkurɔfo pasaa no.
For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did to the two kings of the Amorites, that [were] on the other side of Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
And as soon as we had heard [these things], our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he [is] God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
12 “Enti momfa Awurade nka ntam nkyerɛ me se, esiane sɛ maboa mo nti, mobɛyɛ me ne mʼabusuafo adom. Momfa biribi nsi mo bɔhyɛ so se,
Now therefore, I pray you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have showed you kindness, that ye will also show kindness to my father's house, and give me a true token:
13 moko fa Yeriko a, morenkum me ne mʼagya ne me na, me nuabarimanom ne nuabeanom ne wɔn ho nnipa nyinaa.”
And [that] ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.
14 Mmarima no penee so kae se, “Yɛde yɛn nkwa si yɛn bɔhyɛ so. Sɛ woanyi yɛn amma na sɛ Awurade de asase no ma yɛn a, yebedi yɛn bɔhyɛ so.”
And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
15 Esiane sɛ wosii Rahab fi sii kurow no fasu so nti, ɔde hama sian wɔn faa mfɛnsere mu maa wosii fam.
Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house [was] upon the town-wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.
16 Afei ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Munguan mfa bepɔw so man no so. Momfa mo ho nsie nnansa kosi sɛ atiwfo no a wɔrehwehwɛ mo no bɛsan wɔn akyi ansa na moakɔ mo kwan.”
And she said to them, Depart to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned: and afterward ye may go your way.
17 Ansa na mmarima no bɛkɔ no, wɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Yɛbɛbɔ mo nkwa ho ban
And the men said to her, We [will be] blameless of this thy oath which thou hast made us swear.

Behold, [when] we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window by which thou didst let us down: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household home to thee.
19 Sɛ wopue si abɔnten a, wobekum wɔn nyinaa na obi ntumi mmɔ yɛn sobo sɛ yɛabu yɛn ntam so. Na yɛka ntam sɛ, obiara a ɔhyɛ ofi yi mu no, wɔrenkum no. Obiara nso renteɛ ne nsa wɔ wɔn so.
And it shall be, [that] whoever shall go out of the doors of thy house into the street, his blood [shall be] upon his head, and we [will be] guiltless: and whoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood [shall be] on our head, if [any] hand be upon him.
20 Na sɛ wudi yɛn huammɔ de a, ntam yi nnkyekyere yɛn ɔkwan biara so.”
And if thou shalt utter this our business, then we will be quit of thy oath which thou hast made us to swear.
21 Ɔbea no buae se, “Mepene mo nhyehyɛe no nyinaa so.” Ogyaa wɔn kwan, bere a hama kɔkɔɔ no sɛn ofi no mfɛnsere no ano.
And she said, According to your words, so [be] it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.
22 Akwansrafo no kɔɔ bepɔw asase no so kɔtenaa hɔ nnansa. Atiwfo no hwehwɛɛ ɔkwan no so baabiara, san kɔɔ wɔn kurom a wɔanhu akwansrafo no wɔ baabiara.
And they went, and came to the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers had returned: and the pursuers sought [them] throughout all the way, but found [them] not.
23 Afei akwansrafo baanu no sian fii bepɔw asase no so twaa Asubɔnten Yordan bɛkaa nsɛm a ɛtoo wɔn nyinaa kyerɛɛ Yosua.
So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all [things] that befell them:
24 Wɔkae se, “Ampa ara Awurade de asase no nyinaa bɛma yɛn, efisɛ yɛn ho hu atɔ nnipa a wɔwɔ asase no so nyinaa so.”
And they said to Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.
