< Yosua 14 >

1 Israelfo mmusuakuw nkae no nyaa nsase wɔ Kanaan sɛ agyapade, sɛnea ɔsɔfo Eleasar, Nun babarima Yosua ne Israel mmusuakuw ntuanofo no de maa wɔn no.
These are the areas of land that the people of Israel received as their inheritance in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the the tribal leaders of Israel allotted to them.
2 Saa mmusuakuw akron ne fa yi nam ntontobɔ so na wonyaa wɔn agyapade no sɛnea Awurade faa Mose so hyɛe no.
Their inheritance was selected by lot for the nine and one-half tribes, just as Yahweh had commanded by the hand of Moses.
For Moses had given the inheritance of the two and one-half tribes beyond the Jordan, but to the Levites he gave no inheritance.
Lewifo no de, wɔamma wɔn asase no mu bi koraa, gye nkurow a wɔbɛtena so ne adidibea a wɔn nguan ne wɔn anantwi bɛkɔ so adidi.
The tribe of Joseph was actually two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. The Levites were given no portion of the inheritance in the land, but only certain cities to live in, with their pasturelands for livestock and for their own material resources.
5 Enti asase no mu kyekyɛ no, wogyinaa mmara a Awurade de maa Mose no so pɛpɛɛpɛ.
The people of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses, so they assigned the land.
6 Wotuu asomafo fi Yuda abusuakuw mu a Kaleb a ɔyɛ Kenesini, Yefune babarima di wɔn anim baa Yosua nkyɛn wɔ Gilgal. Kaleb ka kyerɛɛ Yosua se, “Kae asɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose, Onyankopɔn nipa, a ɛfa me ne wo ho, bere a na yɛwɔ Kades-Barnea no.
Then the tribe of Judah came to Joshua at Gilgal. Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, said to him, “You know what Yahweh said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me at Kadesh Barnea.
7 Bere a Mose, Awurade somfo no somaa me fi Kades-Barnea sɛ menkɔhwehwɛ Kanaan asase no so no, na madi mfe aduanan.
I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy on the land. I brought him a report again as it was in my heart to make.
8 nanso me nuanom a wɔkaa me ho kɔe no hunahunaa nnipa no, buu wɔn aba mu sɛ wonntu wɔn nan nsi Bɔhyɛ Asase no so. Na me fam mu de, mede me ho nyinaa dii Awurade, me Nyankopɔn akyi.
But my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear. But I completely followed Yahweh my God.
9 Enti saa da no, Mose hyɛɛ me bɔ se, ‘Kanaan asase a wokɔnantew so yi bɛyɛ wo ne wʼasefo agyapade sononko daa nyinaa, efisɛ wufi wo koma nyinaa mu adi Awurade, me Nyankopɔn akyi.’
Moses swore on that day, saying, 'Surely the land on which your foot has walked will be an inheritance for you and for your children forever, because you have completely followed Yahweh my God.'
10 “Afei, sɛnea wuhu yi, Awurade ahwɛ me so yiye mfe aduanan anum fi bere a Mose hyɛɛ saa bɔ yi bere a na Israelfo nenam sare so no. Nnɛ, madi mfe aduɔwɔtwe anum.
Now, look! Yahweh has kept me alive these forty-five years, just as he said—from the time when Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, look! I am this day eighty-five years old.
11 Me ho yɛ den nnɛ te sɛ da a Mose somaa me no na metumi atu kwan akɔ ɔko ano mprempren te sɛ kan no.
I am still as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me out. My strength is now as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming.
12 Enti merebisa na wode bepɔw asase a Awurade de hyɛɛ me bɔ no ama me. Nanso sɛ Awurade ka me ho a, mɛpam wɔn afi asase no so sɛnea Awurade kae no.”
Now therefore give me this hill country, which Yahweh promised me on that day. For you heard on that day that the Anakim were there with great fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me and that I will drive them out, just as Yahweh said.”
Then Joshua blessed him and gave Hebron as an inheritance to Caleb son of Jephunneh.
14 Hebron da so yɛ Kaleb, Yefune a ɔyɛ Kenesini babarima no asefo de, efisɛ ɔde ne koma nyinaa dii Awurade Israel Nyankopɔn akyi.
Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he completely followed Yahweh, the God of Israel.
15 Kan no na wɔfrɛ Hebron sɛ Kiriat-Arba. Wɔde Arba yi too Anakfo mu okunini pa ara bi. Na akokoakoko fii asase no so.
Now the name of Hebron formerly was Kiriath Arba. (Arba had been the greatest man among the Anakim.) Then the land had rest from war.
