< Yohane 1 >

1 Ansa na wɔrebɛbɔ wiase no, na Asɛm no wɔ hɔ dedaw. Na Asɛm no ne Onyankopɔn na ɛwɔ hɔ. Na Asɛm no yɛ Onyankopɔn.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God;
2 Mfiase no, na Asɛm no ne Onyankopɔn na ɛwɔ hɔ.
this One was in the beginning with God;
3 Ɛnam ne so na wɔbɔɔ ade nyinaa. Wɔankwati no anyɛ biribiara.
all things happened through Him, and without Him not even one thing happened that has happened.
4 Ne mu na nkwa wɔ; na saa nkwa no na ɛma nnipa hann.
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men,
5 Hann no hyerɛn wɔ sum mu a sum no ntumi nni hann no so.
and the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not perceive it.
6 Onyankopɔn somaa ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Yohane.
There came a man—having been sent from God—whose name [is] John,
7 Obedii hann no ho adanse sɛnea ɛbɛma nnipa afa ne so agye hann no adi.
this one came for testimony, that he might testify about the Light, that all might believe through him;
8 Ɛnyɛ ɔno ankasa ne hann no, na mmom, ɔbaa se ɔrebedi hann no ho adanse.
that one was not the Light, but—that he might testify about the Light.
9 Saa hann yi ne nokware hann a ɛba wiase ma ɛhyerɛn nnipa nyinaa so no.
He was the true Light, which enlightens every man, coming into the world;
10 Saa bere no na Asɛm no wɔ wiase. Ɛwɔ mu sɛ Onyankopɔn nam ne so na ɔbɔɔ wiase de, nanso ɔbaa wiase no, wiase anhu no.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him:
11 Ɔbaa nʼankasa ne man mu, nanso ne manfo annye no anto mu.
He came to [His] own, and [His] own did not receive Him;
12 Na wɔn a wogyee no, na wogyee ne din dii no, ɔmaa wɔn tumi ma wɔbɛyɛɛ Onyankopɔn mma
but as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become sons of God—to those believing in His Name,
13 wɔ honhom fam a emfi onipa anaa ɔhonam fam, na mmom efi Onyankopɔn ankasa.
who were begotten, not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.
14 Asɛm no bɛyɛɛ onipa ne yɛn bɛtena ma yehuu nʼanuonyam sɛ ɔba koro a ofi Agya no nkyɛn a adom ne nokware ahyɛ no ma.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of [the] only begotten of [the] Father, full of grace and truth.
15 Yohane kaa ne ho asɛm se, “Oyi ne nea mekaa ne ho asɛm se, ‘Nea odi mʼakyi reba no yɛ ɔkɛse sen me, efisɛ ɔwɔ hɔ ansa na wɔwoo me no.’”
John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, “This was He of whom I said, He who is coming after me has come before me, for He was before me.”
16 Ofi ne mmɔborɔhunu a to ntwa da no mu hyira yɛn nyinaa daa daa.
And we all received out of His fullness, and grace for grace;
17 Onyankopɔn nam Mose so de mmara maa yɛn, nanso ɛnam Yesu Kristo so na yenyaa adom ne nokware.
for the Law was given through Moses, the grace and the truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 Obiara nhuu Onyankopɔn da, gye ne Ba koro no a ɔno nso yɛ Onyankopɔn no, nea ɔwɔ Agya no nkyɛn na wada no adi no.
No one has ever seen God; the only begotten God who is on the bosom of the Father—He has expounded [Him].
19 Yudafo mpanyin a wɔwɔ Yerusalem somaa asɔfo ne Lewifo kɔɔ Yohane nkyɛn kobisaa no se, “Wone Agyenkwa no ana?”
And this is the testimony of John when the Jews sent priests and Levites out of Jerusalem, that they might question him, “Who are you?”
20 Yohane antwentwɛn asɛm no mmuae so. Ɔpaee mu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn prɛko pɛ se, “Ɛnyɛ me ne Agyenkwa no.”
And he confessed and did not deny, and confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
21 Wobisaa no se, “Ɛno de, na wone hena, Elia ana?” Obuaa wɔn se, “Dabi.” Wobisaa no bio se, “Wone Odiyifo no?” Ɔsan buaa wɔn se, “Dabi”.
And they questioned him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he says, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
22 Wɔsan bisaa no se, “Ɛno de, na wone hena? Ka kyerɛ yɛn na yɛnkɔbɔ wɔn a wɔsomaa yɛn no amanneɛ. Asɛm bɛn na wowɔ ka fa wo ho?”
Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say concerning yourself?”
23 Yohane buaa wɔn se, “Mene nne a efi sare so a ɛteɛ mu sɛnea Odiyifo Yesaia hyɛɛ nkɔm se, ‘Munsiesie mo ho mma Awurade ba a ɔbɛba no.’”
He said, “I [am] a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the LORD, as Isaiah the prophet said.”
24 Afei wɔn a Farisifo no somaa wɔn no bisaa Yohane bio se,
And those sent were of the Pharisees,
25 “Sɛ ɛnyɛ wo ne Agyenkwa no anaa Elia anaa Odiyifo no a, adɛn nti na wobɔ asu?”
and they questioned him and said to him, “Why, then, do you immerse, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”
26 Yohane nso buae se, “Me de, nsu na mede bɔ asu, nanso obi wɔ mo mfimfini ha a munnim no,
John answered them, saying, “I immerse in water, but in the midst of you has stood He whom you have not known, it is this One who is coming after me, who has been before me,
27 a ne mpaboa mpo memfata sɛ meworɔw; ɔno na obedi mʼakyi aba.”
of whom I am not worthy that I may loose the strap of His sandal.”
28 Saa asɛm yi sii Betania a ɛwɔ Asubɔnten Yordan agya, faako a na Yohane rebɔ asu no.
These things came to pass in Bethabara, beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing.
29 Ade kyee a Yohane huu Yesu sɛ ɔreba ne nkyɛn no, ɔteɛɛ mu kae se, “Hwɛ, Onyankopɔn Guamma a oyi wiase bɔne kɔ no!
On the next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who is taking away the sin of the world;
30 Oyi ne nea mekaa ne ho asɛm se, ‘Nea odi mʼakyi reba no yɛ ɔkɛse sen me, efisɛ na ɔwɔ hɔ ansa na mereba.’
this is He concerning whom I said, After me comes a Man who has come before me, because He was before me:
31 Me de, na minnim no, nanso mede nsu bɛbɔɔ asu sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ na mɛda no adi akyerɛ Israel.”
and I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Israel, because of this I came immersing in water.”
32 Na Yohane dii adanse se, “Mihuu Honhom no sɛ asian aba ne so sɛ aborɔnoma a ɔresian afi ɔsoro.
And John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down out of Heaven as a dove, and [that] One remained on Him;
33 Na anka minnim no, nanso bere a Onyankopɔn somaa me se memfa nsu mmɔ asu no, ɔka kyerɛɛ me se, ‘Onipa a wubehu sɛ Honhom no besian aba ne so no, ɔno ne nea worehwɛ nʼanim no. Ɔno na ɔde Honhom Kronkron bɛbɔ asu.’
and I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, On whomsoever you may see the Spirit coming down, and remaining on Him, this is He who is immersing in the Holy Spirit;
34 Mahu eyinom nyinaa sɛ aba mu na midi ho adanse sɛ oyi ne Onyankopɔn Ba no.”
and I have seen, and have testified, that this is the Son of God.”
35 Ade kyee a Yohane ne nʼasuafo no mu baanu gyina baabi no, wohuu sɛ Yesu retwa mu.
On the next day, again, John was standing, and two of his disciples,
36 Yohane hwɛɛ no kae se, “Oyi ne Onyankopɔn Guamma no!”
and having looked on Jesus walking, he says, “Behold, the Lamb of God”;
37 Asuafo baanu no tee nea ɔkae no, wokodii Yesu akyi.
and the two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
38 Yesu twaa nʼani huu sɛ wodi nʼakyi no, obisaa wɔn se, “Dɛn na morehwehwɛ?” Wɔn nso bisaa no se, “Rabi” (a ne nkyerɛase ne Kyerɛkyerɛfo), “ɛhe na wote?”
And Jesus having turned, and having beheld them following, says to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is, being interpreted, Teacher), “where do You remain?”
39 Obuaa wɔn se, “Mommra mmɛhwɛ.” Enti wɔne no kɔ kɔhwɛɛ faako a ɔte na wɔne no tenaa hɔ fii awia nnɔnnan kosii anwummere.
He says to them, “Come and see”; they came and saw where He remains, and they remained with Him that day and the hour was about the tenth.
40 Nnipa baanu a wɔtee Yohane asɛm no nti ɛma wokodii Yesu akyi no mu baako ne Simon Petro nua Andrea.
Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard from John, and followed Him;
41 Ade a edi kan a Andrea yɛe ne sɛ, ɔkɔhwehwɛɛ ne nua Petro ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Yɛahu Agyenkwa no” (Kristo no).
this one first finds his own brother Simon and says to him, “We have found the Messiah,” (which is, being interpreted, Anointed One),
42 Ɔde Petro kɔɔ Yesu nkyɛn. Yesu hwɛɛ Petro dinn ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Wone Simon, Yohane ba no. Nanso efi nnɛ rekɔ wɔbɛfrɛ wo Kefa” (ɛno ara ne Petro a ne nkyerɛase ne Ɔbotan no).
and he brought him to Jesus: and having looked on him, Jesus says, “You are Simon, the son of Jonas, you will be called Cephas,” (which is interpreted, A rock).
43 Ade kyee no, Yesu yɛɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛkɔ Galilea. Ohuu Filipo ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Di mʼakyi.”
On the next day He willed to go forth to Galilee, and He finds Philip and says to him, “Follow Me.”
44 Na Filipo nso fi Betsaida a na Petro ne Andrea nso fi no.
And Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter;
45 Filipo fii hɔ kɔɔ Natanael nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Yɛahu Agyenkwa no a Mose ne adiyifo no hyɛɛ ne ho nkɔm no. Wɔfrɛ no Yesu. Ɔyɛ Yosef a ofi Nasaret no ba.”
Philip finds Nathanael and says to him, “Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the Prophets, we have found, Jesus the Son of Joseph, who [is] from Nazareth!”
46 Natanael bisaa Filipo se, “Ade pa bi betumi afi Nasaret aba?” Filipo nso ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Bra na bɛhwɛ.”
And Nathanael said to him, “Is any good thing able to be out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
47 Bere a Yesu huu Natanael sɛ ɔreba no, ɔkae se, “Israelni nokwafo ni ampa.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He says concerning him, “Behold, truly an Israelite, in whom is no guile”;
48 Natanael bisaa Yesu se, “Woyɛɛ dɛn huu sɛnea mete?” Yesu nso buaa no se, “Bere a wowɔ borɔdɔma dua no ase hɔ no na mihuu wo ansa na Filipo rebɛfrɛ wo.”
Nathanael says to Him, “From where do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip’s calling you, being under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 Natanael kae se, “Kyerɛkyerɛfo, wone Onyankopɔn Ba no, Israelhene no!”
Nathanael answered and says to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God, You are the King of Israel.”
50 Yesu bisaa no se, “Esiane sɛ meka kyerɛɛ wo sɛ mihuu wo wɔ borɔdɔma dua no ase nti na wugye di ana? Wubehu nneɛma akɛse a ɛsen eyinom.
Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, you believe; you will see greater things than these”;
51 Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se, mubehu sɛ ɔsoro abue na Onyankopɔn abɔfo redi aforosian wɔ Onipa Ba no so.”
and He says to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, from now on you will see Heaven opened, and the messengers of God going up and coming down on the Son of Man.”
