< Yohane 9 >
1 Yesu nam no, ohuu aberante bi a wɔwoo no onifuraefo,
And as he was passing along, he saw a man who had been blind from his birth.
2 Nʼasuafo no bisaa no se, “Kyerɛkyerɛfo, hena na ɔyɛɛ bɔne, saa onifuraefo yi awofo anaa ɔno ankasa, nti na ɛma wɔwoo no onifuraefo yi?”
And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Yesu buae se, “Ɛnyɛ nʼawofo anaa nʼankasa bɔne nti na nʼani afura. Na mmom nʼani afura sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a Onyankopɔn tumi bɛyɛ ne ho adwuma.
Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but that the works of God might be made manifest in him.
4 Esiane sɛ adesae nkyɛ ba no nti ɛsɛ sɛ yɛyɛ nea ɔsomaa me no adwuma a ɔde ahyɛ yɛn nsa no. Sɛ ade sa a obiara ntumi nyɛ adwuma.
We must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night is coming, when no one can work.
5 Bere a mewɔ wiase yi de, mene wiase hann no.”
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 Ɔkaa saa no ɔtee ntasu guu fam de fɔtɔw dɔte na ɔde dɔte no sraa onifuraefo no ani so.
Having thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay with the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay,
7 Na ɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Kɔ ɔtare Siloa no mu, na kɔhohoro wʼanim.” Onifuraefo yi kɔ kɔhohoroo nʼanim san bae a, afei de ohu ade.
and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam; (which is, when translated, Sent.) He went away therefore, and washed and came seeing.
8 Onifuraefo no afipamfo a wohuu no sɛ ɔte kwan ho srɛsrɛ ade no huu no no, wobisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Ɛnyɛ aberante a na ɔsrɛsrɛ ade no ni?”
The neighbors therefore, and they who before had seen him as a beggar, said, Is not this he that sits and begs?
9 Ebinom kae se, “Ɛyɛ ɔno,” na afoforo nso kae se, “Dabi, ɛnyɛ ɔno na mmom sɛ na ɔsɛ no.” Aberante yi kae se, “Ɛyɛ me.”
Some said, This is he. Others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am he.
10 Nnipa no bisaa no se, “Ɛyɛɛ dɛn na afei wuhu ade yi?”
They said therefore to him How then were thine eyes opened?
11 Obuaa wɔn se, “Ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Yesu no fɔtɔw dɔte na ɔde sraa mʼani so na ɔka kyerɛɛ me se, ‘Kɔ ɔtare Siloa mu na kɔhohoro wʼanim’. Mekɔ kɔhohoroo mʼanim wiee ara pɛ na mihuu ade.”
He answered, The man who is called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam, and wash. I went therefore and washed, and received sight.
12 Wɔsan bisaa no bio se, “Saa Yesu no wɔ he?” Obuaa wɔn se, “Minnim.”
And they said to him, Where is that man? He saith, I do not know.
13 Wɔde aberante a na nʼani afura no brɛɛ Farisifo no.
They bring to the Pharisees him who had once been blind.
14 Da a Yesu saa onifuraefo no yare no yɛ homeda.
And the day on which Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes was the sabbath.
15 Farisifo no nso bisaa aberante no sɛnea ɛyɛe a afei de ohuu ade. Aberante no kaa sɛnea Yesu de dɔte a wafɔtɔw sraa nʼani so na ɔkɔhohoro ma ohuu ade no kyerɛɛ wɔn.
Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, He put clay on my eyes, and I washed them, and I see.
16 Farisifo no mu bi kae se, “Onipa a ɔyɛɛ saa ade yi mfi Onyankopɔn hɔ, efisɛ onni homeda mmara no so.” Afoforo nso kae se, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ɔdebɔneyɛni a ɔte sɛɛ yi betumi ayɛ saa anwonwadwuma yi?” Saa akyinnye yi maa mpaapaemu baa wɔn mu.
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs. And there was a division among them.
17 Afei Farisifo yi san bisaa aberante no se, “Wo na wuse ɔma wuhuu ade, dɛn asɛm na woka fa ne ho?” Aberante yi buae se, “Migye di sɛ ɔyɛ odiyifo a ofi Onyankopɔn nkyɛn.”
They say therefore to the blind man again, What dost thou say of him for having opened thine eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.
18 Yudafo no annye anni ara da sɛ, na saa aberante no yɛ onifuraefo a afei de ohu ade, kosi sɛ wɔsoma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ nʼawofo bae,
The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 ma wobisaa wɔn se, “Mo ba ni ana? Mokyerɛ sɛ mowoo no no, na ɔyɛ onifuraefo ana? Ɛyɛɛ dɛn na afei de ohu ade yi?”
And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? How then doth he now see?
20 Nʼawofo no buae se, “Yegye to mu sɛ ɔyɛ yɛn ba, na yɛwoo no no nso, na ɔyɛ onifuraefo.
His parents, answered and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 Nanso yennim nea enti a afei de ohu ade yi. Saa ara nso na yennim onipa ko a ɔma ohuu ade no. Ɔno ara ni, nʼani nso afi a obetumi akasa ama ne ho nti mummisa no.”
but by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not; ask him, he is of age; he will speak for himself.
22 Nea ɛmaa nʼawofo no kaa saa ne sɛ, na wosuro Yudafo mpanyimfo no a wɔaka se, obiara a ɔbɛka se Yesu ne Agyenkwa no no, wɔbɛpam no afi asɔredan no mu hɔ no.
This his parents said, because they feared the Jews. For the Jews had already agreed, that if any one should acknowledge him as the Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Eyi nti na nʼawofo no kae se, “Nʼani afi a obetumi akasa ama ne ho enti mummisa no” no.
Therefore his parents said, He is of age; ask him.
24 Wɔsan frɛɛ aberante a na ɔyɛ onifuraefo no ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Hyɛ bɔ wɔ Onyankopɔn din mu se, asɛm a yɛrebebisa wo yi wubedi nokware. Yenim sɛ saa ɔbarima yi yɛ ɔdebɔneyɛni.”
They therefore called a second time the man that had been blind, and said to him, Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner.
He therefore answered, Whether he is a sinner, I know not; one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Wobisaa no bio se, “Dɛn na ɔyɛɛ wo ma wuhuu ade?”
They said to him, What did he do to thee? How did he open thine eyes?
27 Aberante no de abufuw buaa wɔn se, “Maka nokware no akyerɛ mo, nanso moantie. Dɛn bio na mopɛ sɛ meka kyerɛ mo? Anaasɛ mo nso mopɛ sɛ mobɛyɛ nʼasuafo?”
He answered them, I have already told you, and ye did not hear; why would ye hear it again? Are ye also inclined to become his disciples?
28 Mpanyimfo no yeyaw no san kae se, “Wo mmom na woyɛ saa akoa no suani; na yɛn de, yɛyɛ Mose asuafo.
They reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.
29 Yenim pefee sɛ Onyankopɔn kasa kyerɛɛ Mose nanso saa Yesu yi de, yennim faako a ofi mpo!”
We know that God hath spoken to Moses; but as for this man, we know not whence he is.
30 Aberante yi ka kyerɛɛ mpanyimfo no se, “Ɛyɛ me nwonwa yiye sɛ obi a otumi ma onifuraefo hu ade no mutumi ka se munnim faako a ofi.
The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened my eyes.
31 Yenim sɛ Onyankopɔn ntie nnebɔneyɛfo asɛm; na mmom otie nnipa a wodi no ni na wɔyɛ nʼapɛde no.
We know that God heareth not sinners; but if any one is a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32 Efi adebɔ mfiase, yɛntee da sɛ obi ama onifuraefo ahu ade; (aiōn )
Since the world began, it was never heard that any one opened the eyes of a man born blind. (aiōn )
33 sɛ ɔbarima yi mfi Onyankopɔn hɔ a anka ɔrentumi nyɛ anwonwade a ɛte sɛɛ.”
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.
34 Mpanyimfo no nso de abufuw buaa no se, “Ɔdebɔneyɛni te sɛ wo na wopɛ sɛ wokyerɛkyerɛ yɛn?” Wosunsum no fii asɔredan no mu hɔ.
They answered and said to him, Thou wast wholly born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
35 Yesu tee sɛ wɔasunsum aberante no afi asɔredan no mu hɔ no, ɔhwehwɛɛ no bisaa no se, “Wugye Onipa Ba no di ana?”
Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and he found him, and said, Dost thou believe in the Son of man?
36 Aberante no buaa no se, “Me wura, kyerɛ me saa Onipa Ba no sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a megye no adi!”
He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?
37 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Woahu no dedaw; ɔno na ɔne wo rekasa yi.”
Jesus said to him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 Aberante no de anigye kae se, “Awurade, migye di.” Afei ɔkotow Yesu.
And he said, I believe, Lord; and he prostrated himself before him.
39 Yesu kae se, “Mebaa wiase ha sɛ merebebu atɛn, na mama wɔn a wɔyɛ anifuraefo no ahu ade, na makyerɛ wɔn a wogye di sɛ wohu ade no sɛ, wɔyɛ anifuraefo.”
And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world; that they who see not might see, and that they who see might become blind.
40 Farisifo a na wogyinagyina hɔ no bisaa no se, “Wopɛ sɛ wokyerɛ sɛ yɛyɛ anifuraefo ana?”
Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this, and said to him, Are we also blind?
41 Yesu buaa wɔn se. “Sɛ mugye to mu sɛ moyɛ anifuraefo a, ɛno de anka munnni nea maka no ho fɔ. Esiane sɛ mugye to mu sɛ muhu ade nti motena afɔbu mu.”
Jesus said to them, If ye were blind, ye would not have sin; but now ye say, We see. Your sin remaineth.
