< Yohane 8 >

1 Yesu san kɔɔ Ngo Bepɔw no so.
but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 Ade kyee anɔpa no ɔsan baa hyiadan no mu. Nnipa bebree baa ne nkyɛn ma ofii ase kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔn.
Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down and taught them.
3 Ogu so rekasa no, Yudafo mpanyin ne Farisifo de ɔbea bi a wɔkyeree no sɛ ɔrebɔ aguaman baa nʼanim.
The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the middle,
4 Wɔka kyerɛɛ Yesu se, “Kyerɛkyerɛfo, yɛkyeree ɔbea yi sɛ ɔrebɔ aguaman,
they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.
5 nanso Mose mmara hyɛ yɛn sɛ, ɔbea biara a wɔbɛkyere no wɔ saa ɔkwan no so no, ɛsɛ sɛ wosiw no abo. Dɛn na woka wɔ ho?”
Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What then do you say about her?”
6 Wobisaa no eyi de sum no afiri sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wobenya asɛm bi agyina so atoto nʼano. Nanso Yesu bɔɔ ne mu ase de ne nsateaa kyerɛkyerɛw fam.
They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
7 Wogu so rebisabisa no nsɛm no, ɔmaa ne mu so ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mo mu biara a ɔnyɛɛ bɔne da no nni kan ntow ɔbo mmɔ no.”
But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”
8 Ɔsan bɔɔ ne mu ase kyerɛkyerɛw fam.
Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground with his finger.
9 Nnipa no tee asɛm a Yesu kae no, wofii ase fii hɔ mmaako mmaako fii mpanyin no so. Ɛkaa Yesu ne ɔbea no nko ara.
They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.
10 Yesu maa ne mu so no, obisaa ɔbea no se, “Nnipa a wɔde wo bae no wɔ he? Wɔn mu baako mpo nni ha a ɔbɛka asɛm bi atia wo?”
Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”
11 Ɔbea no buaa Yesu se, “Dabi, Owura.” Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Sɛ saa na ɛte de a, ɛno de me nso minni asɛm biara a mɛka de atia wo. Kɔ, na nkɔyɛ bɔne bio.”
She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”
12 Yesu san toaa ne kasa no so ka kyerɛɛ nnipa no se, “Mene wiase hann no. Obiara a odi mʼakyi no rennantew sum mu da, na obenya hann a ɛkyerɛ nnipa kwan ma wɔkɔ nkwa mu.”
Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 Farisifo no tee asɛm a Yesu kae no, wɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Asɛm a woreka yi de, yɛrennye nto mu, efisɛ wo ara na woredi wo ho adanse.”
The Pharisees therefore said to him, “You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid.”
14 Yesu nso buaa wɔn se, “Sɛ me ara meredi me ho adanse mpo a, asɛm a meka no yɛ nokware, efisɛ minim faako a mifi bae ne faako a merekɔ. Na mo de, munnim faako a mifi bae ne faako a merekɔ nso.
Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you do not know where I came from, or where I am going.
15 Mo ankasa mode mo adwene na ebu atɛn na me de, mimmu obiara atɛn.
You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
16 Nanso sɛ ɛba sɛ ɛsɛ sɛ mibu atɛn a mʼatemmu bɛyɛ atɛntrenee, efisɛ ɛnyɛ me nko na mebu atɛn; Agya a ɔsomaa me no ka me ho.
Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
17 Wɔakyerɛw wɔ mo mmara mu se sɛ nnansefo baanu adanse hyia a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ wɔn adanse no yɛ nokware.
It’s also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.
18 Midi me ho adanse na mʼAgya a ɔsomaa me no nso di me ho adanse.”
I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”
19 Nnipa no bisaa no se, “Ɛhe na wʼAgya no wɔ?” Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Munnim me na munnim mʼAgya no nso. Sɛ munim me a, anka mubehu mʼAgya no nso.”
They said therefore to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
20 Yesu kaa eyinom nyinaa wɔ bere a na ɔrekyerɛkyerɛ wɔ asɔredan no mu sikakorabea hɔ no. Obiara antumi amfa ne nsa anka no, efisɛ na ne bere a ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkyere no no nnu ɛ.
Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.
21 Yesu san ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mefi mo nkyɛn akɔ; mobɛhwehwɛ me na morenhu me. Na mo de, mubewu wɔ mo bɔne mu. Faako a merekɔ no morentumi mma hɔ bi.”
Jesus said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you cannot come.”
22 Yudafo no bisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Ɛhe na ɔrekɔ a ose ‘obi rentumi nkɔ hɔ bi no?’ Gyama ɔrekokum ne ho?”
The Jews therefore said, “Will he kill himself, because he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”
23 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Mo de, mufi asase so ha nanso me de, mifi ɔsoro na mebae. Mo de, mufi wiase nanso me de, mimfi wiase,
He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
24 Ɛno nti na meka kyerɛ mo se mubewu wɔ mo bɔne mu no. Na sɛ moannye anni sɛ, mene nea mene a, mubewu wɔ mo bɔne mu.”
I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
25 Wobisaa no se, “Wo koraa wone hena?” Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Mene nea daa meka kyerɛ mo se meyɛ.
They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.
26 Mewɔ mo ho nsɛm pii a anka mɛka atia mo. Nanso nea ɔsomaa me no yɛ ɔnokwafo na asɛm a meka no yɛ nea mate afi ne nkyɛn.”
I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”
27 Nnipa no ante no ase sɛ nʼagya ho asɛm na ɔreka akyerɛ wɔn no.
They did not understand that he spoke to them about the Father.
28 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Sɛ munya ma Onipa Ba no so wɔ asennua no so a na mubehu sɛ mene nea mene no, na afei mubehu bio sɛ mimfi me ara me pɛ mu nyɛ biribiara, na mmom nea Agya no somaa me sɛ menka no nko ara na meka.
Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.
29 Nea ɔsomaa me no ka me ho daa. Onnyaw me da efisɛ meyɛ nea ɛsɔ nʼani.”
He who sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
30 Nnipa a wɔtee nea Yesu kaa no mu dodow no ara gyee no dii.
As he spoke these things, many believed in him.
31 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ Yudafo a wogyee no dii no se, “Sɛ mudi me nsɛm so a, moyɛ mʼasuafo.
Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.
32 Ɛno ansa na mubehu nokware no na nokware no bɛma moade mo ho.”
You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
33 Nnipa no buaa no se, “Yɛn de, yɛyɛ Abraham asefo. Yɛnkɔɔ nkoasom mu da, na adɛn nti na woka se wobɛma yɛade yɛn ho?”
They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
34 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Mereka nokware akyerɛ mo se obiara a ɔyɛ bɔne no yɛ bɔne akoa.
Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.
35 Akoa biara nni kyɛfa wɔ abusua mu nanso ɔba de, daa ɔwɔ kyɛfa wɔ abusua mu. (aiōn g165)
A bondservant does not live in the house for life (aiōn g165). A son remains for a lifetime (aiōn g165).
36 Ɛno nti sɛ ɔba no ma mode mo ho a mobɛde mo ho ampa.
If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
37 Migye to mu sɛ moyɛ Abraham asefo, nanso morehwehwɛ me akum me, efisɛ munni ne nkyerɛkyerɛ so.
I know that you are Abraham’s offspring, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.
38 Nea mʼAgya ayi akyerɛ me no na meka ho asɛm, na mo de, nea mo agya aka akyerɛ mo no na mudi so.”
I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”
39 Nnipa no kae se, “Yɛn agya ne Abraham.” Yesu nso ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Moyɛ Abraham asefo ampa a anka ne nnwuma a ɔyɛe no bi pɛpɛɛpɛ na mobɛyɛ.
They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
40 Nea mayɛ ne sɛ maka nokware a mote fii Agya no nkyɛn akyerɛ mo, nanso mohwehwɛ me akum me. Abraham anyɛ biribi a ɛte sɛ eyi.
But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
41 Moreyɛ nea mo agya yɛe.” Nnipa no san kae se, “Onyankopɔn nko ara ne Agya a yɛwɔ na yɛyɛ ne mma ankasa.”
You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”
42 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Sɛ Onyankopɔn yɛ mo Agya ampa ara a anka mobɛdɔ me, efisɛ ne nkyɛn na mifi bae na mewɔ ha. Mamfi me pɛ mu na mebae; ɔno na ɔsomaa me.
Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I have not come of myself, but he sent me.
43 Adɛn nti na monte nsɛm a mereka yi ase? Efisɛ mompɛ sɛ mote ase.
Why do not you understand my speech? Because you cannot hear my word.
44 Mo de, ɔbonsam ne mo agya na mopɛ sɛ moyɛ nneɛma a ɔyɛ no nso bi. Ɔyɛ owudifo fi mfiase. Onni nokware da efisɛ ɔnyɛ ɔnokwafo. Sɛ odi atoro a, ɛnyɛ nwonwa efisɛ ɔyɛ ɔtorofo ne atoro agya.
You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
45 Nanso me de, esiane sɛ meka nokware nti na munnye me nni no.
But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.
46 Mo mu hena na obetumi aka se midi bɔne bi ho fɔ? Sɛ meka nokware a adɛn nti na munnye me nni?
Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?
47 Obiara a ofi Onyankopɔn mu no tie Onyankopɔn asɛm. Na mo de, esiane sɛ mumfi Onyankopɔn mu no nti na muntie nʼasɛm no.”
He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
48 Yudafo no bisaa Yesu se, “Sɛ yɛka se woyɛ Samariani a honhommɔne ahyɛ wo ma a na yɛboa ana?”
Then the Jews answered him, “Do not we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”
49 Yesu buae se, “Minni honhommɔne. Midi mʼAgya ni na mo de, munni no ni.
Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.
50 Memmpere nhwehwɛ anuonyam mma mʼankasa me ho. Obi wɔ hɔ a ɔhwehwɛ ma me na ɔno nso na odi ma me.
But I do not seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.
51 Meka nokware pefee kyerɛ mo se, obiara a odi mʼasɛm so no renwu da.” (aiōn g165)
Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death in this age (aiōn g165)."
52 Yudafo no nso ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Afei na yɛahu ampa sɛ wowɔ honhommɔne! Abraham wui. Adiyifo no nso wuwui. Nanso wo de, woka se, ‘Obiara a odi mʼasɛm so no renwu da.’ (aiōn g165)
Then the Jews said to him, "Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, as did the prophets; and you say, 'If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death in this age (aiōn g165).'
53 Woyɛ ɔkɛse sen yɛn agya Abraham ana? Owui; saa ara nso na adiyifo no wuwui. Wususuw sɛ woyɛ hena?”
Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
54 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Sɛ mʼankasa mehyɛ me ho anuonyam a, mʼanuonyam no nka hwee. MʼAgya a mo nso moka se ɔyɛ mo Nyankopɔn no, ɔno na ɔhyɛ me anuonyam.
Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.
55 Mo de, munnim no, nanso me de, minim no. Sɛ meka sɛ minnim no a na meyɛ ɔtorofo sɛ mo ara. Minim no na madi nʼasɛm nso so.
You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, ‘I do not know him,’ I would be like you, a liar. But I know him and keep his word.
56 Mo agya Abraham ani gyee sɛ obehu me ba a mɛba no. Ohui na nʼani gyei.”
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it and was glad.”
57 Yudafo no nso bisaa no se, “Wunnii mfe aduonum koraa na woyɛɛ dɛn na wuhuu Abraham?”
The Jews therefore said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old! Have you seen Abraham?”
58 Yesu buae se, “Mereka nokware pefee akyerɛ mo se, ansa na wɔrebɛwo Abraham no, na mete ase.”
Jesus said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.”
59 Yudafo no tasee abo sɛ anka wɔde rebesiw no, nanso Yesu hintawee. Eyi akyi no, ofii asɔredan no mu hɔ kɔe.
Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, having gone through the middle of them, and so passed by.
