< Yohane 7 >
1 Eyi akyi no Yesu kyinkyinii wɔ Galilea. Wampɛ sɛ obekyinkyin wɔ Yudea, efisɛ na Yudafo mpanyin no rehwehwɛ no akum no.
After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee, for He didn’t want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
2 Bere a Yudafo Asese Afahyɛ no reyɛ adu no,
Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was near.
3 Yesu nuanom ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Ɛsɛ sɛ wufi ha san kɔ Yudea sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ na wʼakyidifo behu nsɛnkyerɛnne a woyɛe no.
Therefore His brothers told Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples will see the works that You are doing, too.
4 Sɛ obi pɛ sɛ ogye din a ɔmmfa ne nneyɛe nsie. Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔma nnipa nyinaa hu ne nneyɛe.”
Nobody does anything in secret while he seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”
5 Na nʼankasa ne nuanom mpo nnye no nni.
For even His brothers didn’t believe in Him.
6 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Me bere nnuu ɛ, na mo de bere biara ye ma mo.
Then Jesus told them, “My time hasn’t yet come, but your time is always right.
7 Mo de, nnipa tan mo a ɛnyɛ ye, nanso me de wɔtan me a ɛyɛ ye, efisɛ daa meka bɔne a wɔyɛ no kyerɛ wɔn.
The world can’t hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.
8 Mo de, munni kan nkɔ afahyɛ no na me de, minnya nkɔɔ ɛ, efisɛ me bere nnuu ɛ.”
Go up to this feast yourselves. I’m not going up to this feast, yet, for my time hasn’t yet fully come.”
9 Ɔkaa saa asɛm yi kyerɛɛ wɔn akyi no ɔtenaa Galilea.
Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
10 Yesu nuanom kɔɔ akyi no na ɔno nso kɔɔ afahyɛ no ase bi a wanna ne ho adi wɔ hɔ.
When His brothers had gone up to the feast, however, Jesus also went up, not publicly, but in secret.
11 Yudafo mpanyin no hwehwɛɛ no wɔ afahyɛ no ase na wɔanhu no no, wobisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Onipa a yɛrehwehwɛ no no wɔ he?”
The Jews were looking for Him at the feast, and saying, “Where is He?”
12 Nnipa no kaa ne ho nsɛm huhuhuhu efisɛ na wosuro Yudafo mpanyin no. Ebinom se, “Ɔyɛ onipa pa.” Na afoforo nso se, “Ɔyɛ ɔdaadaafo.”
There was much complaining among the people about Him. Some said, “He is good,” but others said, “No, He deceives the people.”
13 Yudafo mpanyin no ho hu nti obiara antumi anyi nʼanim anka ne ho asɛm wɔ bagua mu.
No one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
14 Afahyɛ no duu ne mpɔmpɔnso no, Yesu kɔɔ asɔredan mu kɔkyerɛkyerɛe.
About the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.
15 Bere a Yudafo mpanyin no tee Yesu nkyerɛkyerɛ no, ɛyɛɛ wɔn nwonwa na wobisae se, “Onipa yi nsuaa nhoma da, na ɛyɛɛ dɛn na otumi kyerɛkyerɛ sɛɛ yi?”
The Jews marveled, saying, “How does this man know letters, having never been educated?”
16 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Nea merekyerɛ no mfi mʼankasa, na mmom efi Onyankopɔn a ɔsomaa me no.
Jesus answered, “My teaching isn’t mine, but His who sent me.
17 Sɛ obi pɛ sɛ ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛde a obehu sɛ me nkyerɛkyerɛ no fi Onyankopɔn nkyɛn anaa efi mʼankasa.
Anyone who wants to do His will shall know if the teaching is from God or if I speak on my own.
18 Obiara a ɔde nʼadwene kasa no pɛ anuonyam ma ne ho, na obiara a ɔpɛ anuonyam ma nea ɔsomaa no no yɛ ɔnokwafo a nnaadaa biara nni ne mu.
The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
19 Mose amma mo mmara no ana? Nanso mo mu biara nni saa mmara no so! Adɛn nti na mopɛ sɛ mukum me?”
Didn’t Moses give you the Law, yet none of you keeps the Law? Why are you trying to kill me?”
20 Nnipa no ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Gyama honhommɔne bi hyɛ wo so? Hena na ɔrehwehwɛ wo akum wo?”
The people answered, “You have a demon. Who is trying to kill You?”
21 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Anwonwade baako pɛ a mayɛ nti na mo ho adwiriw mo sɛɛ yi.
Jesus answered, “I did one work, and you all marvel.
22 Mose maa mo twetiatwa (mpo ɛnyɛ sɛ Mose na ɔhyɛɛ ho mmara na ɛyɛ mo nenanom) nanso, mutwa twetia homeda.
Moses gave you circumcision (not that it’s from Moses, but from the forefathers), and you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath.
23 Sɛ mutwa twetia homeda na moanto Mose mmara a, adɛn nti na sɛ mesa obi yare homeda a, mo bo fuw me?
If a boy gets circumcised on the Sabbath, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
24 Mummmu atɛn kwa. Monhwɛ biribiara a muhu no yiye ansa na moabu ho atɛn.”
Don’t judge by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
25 Nnipa a na wɔwɔ Yerusalem no mu bi bisae se, “Ɛnyɛ saa onipa yi ne nea wɔpɛ sɛ wokum no no ana?
Some of the people of Jerusalem said, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
26 Ɔno na ɔrekasa wɔ bagua mu a obiara nka hwee nkyerɛ no yi! Gyama afei de mpanyimfo no agye no ato mu sɛ ɔne Agyenkwa no?
Look! He is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to Him. The rulers haven’t really concluded that this is the Christ, have they?
27 Yenim sɛ Agyenkwa no nya ba a, obiara rentumi nkyerɛ faako a ofi bae nanso saa onipa yi de, yenim faako a ofi.”
Still, we know where this man is from, but when the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”
28 Yesu gu so rekyerɛkyerɛ wɔ asɔredan mu no, ɔkaa no dennen se, “Ɛwɔ mu sɛ munim me na munim faako nso a mifi bae, nanso ɛnyɛ me ara me pɛ na mede bae, na nea ɔsomaa me no yɛ ɔnokwafo, nanso munnim no;
Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I’m from. I haven’t come of my own accord, but He who sent me is true, who you don’t know.
29 na me de, minim no, efisɛ mifi ne nkyɛn na mebae na ɔno na ɔsomaa me.”
I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent me.”
30 Nʼano sii no, wɔpɛe sɛ anka wɔkyere no nanso obiara antumi amfa ne nsa anka no, efisɛ na ne bere a ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkyere no no nnui ɛ.
Because of this, they were seeking to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him, because His time had not yet come.
31 Nnipa no mu fa kɛse no ara gyee no dii na wobisae se, “Sɛ Agyenkwa no ba a obetumi ayɛ anwonwade bebree sen nea ɔbarima yi ayɛ no ana?”
Many of the people believed in Him, saying, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than this man has done?”
32 Farisifo no tee huhuhuhu no a nnipa no yɛ faa Yesu ho no, wɔne asɔfo mpanyin no somaa hyiadan awɛmfo bi se wɔnkɔkyere Yesu mmra.
The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Jesus, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to seize Him.
33 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ nnipakuw no se, “Nna kakraa bi na aka me a me ne mo bɛtena na masan akɔ nea ɔsomaa me no nkyɛn.
Then Jesus told them, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to Him who sent me.
34 Mobɛhwehwɛ me nanso morenhu me, efisɛ faako a merekɔ no morentumi nkɔ hɔ.”
You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come.”
35 Bere a Yudafo mpanyin no tee asɛm a Yesu kae no, wobisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Ɛhefa na ose ɔrebɛkɔ a enti yɛrenhu no yi? Anaasɛ ɔpɛ sɛ ɔkɔ Helafo nkurow a Yudafo tete mu no mu akɔkyerɛkyerɛ wɔn?
Then the Jews said among themselves, “Where does He intend to go that we won’t be able to find Him? He doesn’t intend to go to the dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, does He?
36 Sɛ ɔka se, ‘Mobɛhwehwɛ me, nanso morenhu me, efisɛ faako a merekɔ no morentumi nkɔ hɔ’ a, na ɔkyerɛ dɛn?”
What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come’?”
37 Afahyɛ no da a edi akyi a ɛyɛ da titiriw no, Yesu sɔre gyinaa hɔ kasaa dennen se, “Obiara a osukɔm de no no mmra me nkyɛn mmɛnom nsu.
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and declared loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, let that person come to me and drink.
38 Na Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, ‘Obiara a ogye me di no, nsu a ɛma nkwa bɛsen afi ne mu.’”
Rivers of living water will flow from within whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said.”
39 Yesu kaa saa asɛm yi faa Honhom Kronkron a wɔn a wogyee no dii no nsa bɛka no ho. Saa bere no na onya mfaa Honhom Kronkron no mmaa wɔn ɛ, efisɛ na wonnya mmaa no so nkɔɔ ɔsoro nhyɛɛ no anuonyam ɛ.
He said this about the Spirit, who those believing in Him would receive. The Holy Spirit wasn’t yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.
40 Nnipa no tee asɛm a Yesu kae no, ebinom kae se, “Ampa ara onipa yi ne odiyifo no!”
When they heard these words, many in the crowd were saying, “This is really the prophet.”
41 Afoforo nso kae se, “Ɔno ne Kristo no!” Ebinom nso bisae se, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na Kristo no befi Galilea?
Others were saying, “This is the Christ,” but some were saying, “Surely the Christ isn’t going to come from Galilee, is He?
42 Kyerɛwsɛm no anka se saa Kristo no befi Dawid abusua mu na wɔbɛwo no wɔ Betlehem kurow a Dawid tenaa mu no mu ana?”
Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
43 Yesu nti nnipa no mu kyekyɛe.
So there was a division among the crowd because of Jesus.
44 Ebinom pɛɛ sɛ wɔkyere no nanso obiara amfa ne nsa anka no.
Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
45 Asomfo no san kɔe no, asɔfo mpanyin ne Farisifo no bisaa wɔn se, “Adɛn nti na moamfa no amma?”
When the officers went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, they asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”
46 Asomfo no buae se, “Nsɛm a onipa no ka no, ɛyɛ nwonwa na yɛntee bi da.”
The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
47 Farisifo no san bisaa asomfo no se, “Mo nso wadaadaa mo ana?
Then the Pharisees answered, “You haven’t been deceived, too, have you?
48 Moahu sɛ mpanyimfo anaa Farisifo no bi agye no adi ana?
Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?
49 Dabi, ɛremma sa, na mmom ɛyɛ wɔn a wonnim mmara no na wɔadome wɔn no na wobegye no adi.”
But this accursed crowd doesn’t know the Law.”
50 Saa bere no na Nikodemo a ɔyɛ Farisini a da bi owiaa ne ho kɔɔ Yesu nkyɛn anadwo no nso wɔ hɔ bi.
Nicodemus (who came to Jesus before, being one of them) asked them,
51 Ɔno na obisae se, “Enti yɛn mmara ma ho kwan ma yebu obi fɔ wɔ bere a yɛntee nʼanom asɛm, nhuu nea wayɛ ana?”
“Does our Law permit us to judge a man before hearing him and finding out what he is doing?”
52 Wobuaa no se, “Wo nso wufi Galilea ana? Hwehwɛ Kyerɛwsɛm no mu yiye na wubehu sɛ odiyifo biara rentumi mfi Galilea da.”
They answered him, “You aren’t from Galilee, too, are you? Search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
53 Afei obiara fii hɔ kɔe a wɔantumi ansi gyinae biara.
Then everyone went home,
