< Yohane 18 >

1 Yesu bɔɔ saa mpae yi wiei no, ɔne nʼasuafo no fii faako a wɔwɔ no kotwaa asu Kidron kɔɔ turo bi mu.
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples across the brook Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples.
2 Esiane sɛ na Yesu ne nʼasuafo no taa kɔ hɔ no nti, na Yuda a oyii no mae no nim hɔ.
And Judas also, his betrayer, knew the place; because Jesus often resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Asɔfo mpanyin ne Farisifo no somaa Yuda ne asraafo ne asɔredan mu awɛmfo a wokurakura akode ne akanea kɔɔ faako a wɔwɔ no.
Judas then, having received the band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with torches and lanterns and weapons.
4 Yesu a na onim nea ɛbɛba ne so nyinaa no kohyiaa wɔn bisaa wɔn se, “Hena na mohwehwɛ no?”
But Jesus, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith to them, Whom do ye seek?
5 Wobuaa no se, “Yesu a ofi Nasaret no.” Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Me ni!” Na Yuda a oyii no maa no gyina hɔ bi.
They answered him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus saith to them, I am he. Now Judas also, his betrayer, was standing with them.
6 Yesu kae se, “Me ni” no, wopinpinii wɔn akyi na wɔhwehwee ase.
As soon then as he said to them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Ɔsan bisaa wɔn bio se, “Morehwehwɛ hena?” Na wobuae se, “Yesu a ofi Nasaret no.”
Again therefore he asked them, Whom do ye seek? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
8 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Maka akyerɛ mo dedaw se me ni. Sɛ me na morehwehwɛ me de a, ɛno de, momma mʼasuafo no nkɔ.”
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore ye are seeking me, let these men go.
9 Ɔkaa eyi nyinaa sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a nsɛm a wɔaka se, “Agya, wɔn a wode wɔn maa me no mu baako koraa nyerae” no bɛba mu.
That the saying might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom thou hast given me, I have lost none.”
10 Saa bere no Petro a na okura afoa no twe de twaa ɔsɔfopanyin no asomfo no mu baako aso nifa. Saa akoa no din de Malko.
Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear. And the servant's name was Malchus.
11 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ Petro se, “Fa wʼafoa no san hyɛ faako a wotwe fii. Ɛnsɛ sɛ menom kuruwa a mʼAgya de ama me no ano ana?”
Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Asraafo no ne wɔn panyin ne asɔredan mu awɛmfo no kyeree Yesu, kyekyeree ne nsa,
So the band and the captain, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him,
13 de no dii kan kɔmaa Anas a na nʼase ne Kaiafa a saa bere no na ɔyɛ Ɔsɔfopanyin no.
and carried him to Annas first; for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high-priest that year.
14 Kaiafa na otuu Yudafo no fo se, eye sɛ onipa baako bewu ama ɔman no.
And it was Caiaphas who counseled the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 Simon Petro ne osuani baako dii Yesu akyi. Na osuani baako no yɛ obi a ɔsɔfopanyin no nim no yiye. Saa osuani no na onyaa kwan kɔɔ ɔsɔfopanyin no fi hɔ.
And Simon Peter and the other disciple followed Jesus. That disciple was an acquaintance of the high-priest, and went with Jesus into the court of the palace of the high-priest.
16 Petro de, ɔkaa ɔpon no akyi. Saa osuani a na onim ɔsɔfopanyin no yiye no san bae, ne abaawa a na ɔhwɛ ɔpon no ano no bɛkasa maa Petro nyaa kwan kɔɔ mu.
But Peter was standing outside at the door. The other disciple therefore, who was an acquaintance of the high-priest, went out and spoke to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Abaawa a ogyina ɔpon ano no bisaa Petro se, “Wonyɛ saa onipa no asuafo no mu baako ana?” Petro buae se, “Dabi.”
Then the maid-servant that kept the door saith to Peter, Art thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
18 Saa bere no na ɛyɛ awɔwbere, enti na asomfo no ne asraafo no asɔ gya a wɔreto. Petro nso kogyinaa hɔ too gya no bi.
And the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold, and were warming themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
19 Ɔsɔfopanyin no bisaa Yesu nsɛm faa nʼasuafo no ne ne nkyerɛkyerɛ ho.
The high-priest then asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.
20 Yesu buae se, “Mekaa me nsɛm nyinaa wɔ gua mu na mekyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ asɔredan ne hyiadan mu a nnipa nyinaa hyia hɔ no. Menkaa asɛm biara wɔ kokoa mu.
Jesus answered him, I have spoken plainly to the world; I always taught in a synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews assemble, and in secret I spoke nothing.
21 Adɛn nti na wubisa saa asɛm yi? Bisa wɔn a wotiee me no. Wɔn na wonim asɛm a mekae.”
Why askest thou me? Ask those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, these know what I have said.
22 Yesu kaa saa no, awɛmfo no mu baako bɔɔ no sotɔre kae se, “Wo sɛɛ ne hena a wutumi kasa ɔsɔfopanyin anim saa?”
And when he had said this, one of the officers who was standing by struck Jesus on the face, saying, Is it thus that thou answerest the high-priest?
23 Yesu buaa no se, “Sɛ maka asɛmmɔne bi a, ka asɛm a mekae no na obiara a ɔwɔ ha nte bi. Na sɛ asɛm a mekaa no nso yɛ nokware de a, adɛn nti na wobɔ me?”
Jesus answered him, If I spoke what is evil, testify to the evil; but if well, why dost thou strike me?
24 Afei, Anas ma wɔde Yesu a wɔakyekyere ne nsa no kɔɔ Ɔsɔfopanyin Kaiafa anim.
Annas therefore sent him bound to Caiaphas the high-priest.
25 Bere a Petro da so gyina hɔ reto gya no bi no, wɔn a na wogyina hɔ no mu bi bisaa no se, “Wo nso wonyɛ ɔbarima no asuafo no mu baako ana?” Petro san bio sɛ, “Dabi, menka wɔn ho.”
And Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied and said, I am not.
26 Ɔsɔfopanyin no asomfo no mu baako a na ɔyɛ nea Petro twaa nʼaso no busuani no nso bisaa no se, “Ɛnyɛ wo na na wo ne no wɔ turo no mu hɔ no?”
One of the servants of the high-priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Petro san san bio se, “Dabi.” Nʼano sii ara pɛ na akokɔ bɔnee.
Then Peter denied again; and immediately a cock crew.
28 Wɔde Yesu fii Kaiafa fi de no kɔɔ Pilato ahemfi. Saa bere no na ɛyɛ anɔpahema. Esiane sɛ na Yudafo no mpɛ sɛ fi ka wɔn na wɔatumi adi Twam Afahyɛ aduan no bi nti, wɔankɔ hɔ bi.
Then they lead Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor's palace; and it was early. And they did not themselves go into the palace, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.
29 Pilato fii adi baa faako a na nnipa no wɔ no bebisaa wɔn se, “Bɔne bɛn na saa onipa yi ayɛ?”
Pilate therefore went out to them, and saith, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
30 Nnipa no buaa no se, “Sɛ ɔnyɛɛ bɔne biara a anka yɛamfa no amma wʼanim ha.”
They answered and said to him, If he had not been doing evil, we would not have delivered him up to thee.
31 Pilato ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mo ara momfa no nkɔ na momfa mo mmara so nni nʼasɛm.” Yudafo no nso kae se, “Yenni tumi sɛ yekum obi.”
Pilate therefore said to them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any one to death.
32 Nea esii yi maa nsɛm a Yesu ka de kyerɛɛ owu ko a obewu no daa adi pefee.
That the words of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what kind of death he was to die.
33 Pilato san kɔɔ nʼahemfi hɔ kobisaa Yesu se, “Wone Yudafo hene no ana?”
Pilate therefore went into the palace again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Yesu nso bisaa no se, “Wo ara wʼadwene na wode rebisa me saa asɛm yi, anaasɛ nnipa bi na wɔaka me ho asɛm akyerɛ wo?”
Jesus answered, Dost thou say this of thyself, or did others tell thee concerning me?
35 Pilato buaa Yesu se, “Wususuw sɛ meyɛ Yudani ana? Wo ara wo nkurɔfo ne wɔn asɔfo mpanyin na wɔde wo brɛɛ me. Dɛn na woayɛ?”
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation and the chief priests delivered thee up to me. What hast thou done?
36 Yesu buaa no se, “Mʼahenni nyɛ asase so ahenni; sɛ mʼahenni yɛ asase so ahenni a, anka mʼakyidifo bɛko agye me afi Yudafo mpanyimfo no nsam. Mereka bio se, mʼahenni nyɛ asase so ahenni.”
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I should not be delivered up to the Jews; but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilato see no sɛ, “Ɛno de, na woyɛ ɔhene ana?” Yesu buaa no se, “Wo na wuse meyɛ ɔhene. Ade baako pɛ nti na wɔwoo me baa wiase ha, sɛ mimmedi nokware ho adanse. Obiara a ɔpɛ nokware no tie me.”
Pilate therefore said to him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest what is true; for I am a king. For this end have I been born, and for this cause have I come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth listeneth to my voice.
38 Pilato bisaa no se, “Dɛn ne saa nokware no?” Afei Pilato fii adi kɔɔ Yudafo no nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Minni asɛm biara a megyina so abu no fɔ.
Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find nothing criminal in him.
39 Nanso sɛnea mo Twam Afahyɛ amanne te no, afe biara moma migyaa odeduani baako ma mo. Mopɛ sɛ migyaa Yudafo hene no ma mo ana?”
But ye have a custom that I should release to you one at the passover: do ye desire, therefore, that I release to you the king of the Jews?
40 Yudafo no teɛteɛɛ mu se, “Dabi! Ɛnyɛ saa onipa yi. Gyaa Baraba ma yɛn!” Na saa Baraba yi yɛ ɔmammɔfo.
Then they cried out again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
