< Hiob 34 >
Moreover Elihu answered and said,
2 “Mo anyansafo, muntie me nsɛm; mo nimdefo monyɛ aso mma me.
Hear my words, ye wise [men]; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
3 Efisɛ aso sɔ nsɛm hwɛ sɛnea tɛkrɛma ka aduan hwɛ no.
For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
4 Momma yɛnsese, nhu nea eye ma yɛn. Momma yɛn nyinaa mmɔ mu nsua nea eye.
Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good!
5 “Hiob ka se, ‘Me ho nni asɛm, nanso Onyankopɔn abu me ntɛnkyew.
For Job hath said, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my judgment:
6 Ɛwɔ mu sɛ mʼasɛm da kwan mu, nanso wobu me ɔtorofo; ɛwɔ mu sɛ menyɛɛ bɔne biara, nanso ne bɛmma no ama me apirakuru a enwu da.’
Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.
7 Onipa bɛn na ɔte sɛ Hiob a ɔnom animtiaabu sɛ nsu?
What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,
8 Ɔne amumɔyɛfo nantew; na ɔne atirimɔdenfo nso bɔ.
And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
9 Efisɛ ɔka se, ‘Sɛ onipa bɔ mmɔden sɛ ɔbɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani a onnya so mfaso biara.’
For he hath said, It profiteth not a man if he delight himself in God.
10 “Enti mo mmarima a mowɔ ntease muntie me. Ɛmpare Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛyɛ bɔne, sɛ Otumfo no bɛyɛ mfomso.
Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be wickedness from God, and wrong from the Almighty!
11 Nnipa nneyɛe so na ɔhwɛ tua wɔn ka; nea ɛfata ne nneyɛe na ɔma ɛba ne so.
For a man's work will he render to him, and cause every one to find according to [his] way.
12 Ɛmfata sɛ wɔde mfomso susuw Onyankopɔn, na ɛmfata sɛ wɔde ntɛnkyew susuw Otumfo.
Yea, surely, God acteth not wickedly, and the Almighty perverteth not judgment.
13 Hena na ɔde no sii asase so? Hena na ɔde wiase nyinaa hyɛɛ ne nsa?
Who hath entrusted to him the earth? and who hath disposed the whole world?
14 Sɛ ɛyɛɛ ne pɛ na oyii ne Honhom ne nʼahome a,
If he only thought of himself, [and] gathered unto him his spirit and his breath,
15 anka adesamma nyinaa bɛbɔ mu ayera, na onipa bɛsan akɔ mfutuma mu.
All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.
16 “Sɛ mowɔ nhumu a, muntie eyi; muntie nea meka.
If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: give ear to the voice of my words!
17 So obi a okyi atɛntrenee betumi adi nnipa so? Mubetumi abu Ɔtreneeni kɛse no fɔ ana?
Should he that hateth right indeed govern? and wilt thou condemn the All-just?
18 Ɛnyɛ Ɔno na ɔka kyerɛ ahemfo se, ‘Mo so nni mfaso,’ na ɔka kyerɛɛ atitiriw se, ‘Moyɛ atirimɔdenfo,’
Shall one say to a king, Belial? to nobles, Wicked?
19 nea ɔnhwɛ mmapɔmma anim na onyiyi adefo ne ahiafo mu, efisɛ wɔn nyinaa yɛ ne nsa ano adwuma.
[How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
20 Wowuwu mmere tiaa bi mu, wɔ anadwo dasu mu; nnipa no ho wosow na wɔsen kɔ; ahoɔdenfo totɔ a emfi nipa.
In a moment they die, even at midnight the people are convulsed and pass away; and the strong are taken away without hand.
21 “Nʼani hwɛ nnipa akwan; na ohu wɔn anammɔntu biara.
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.
22 Baabiara nni hɔ a aduru sum, sum kabii, a amumɔyɛfo betumi ahintaw.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Ɛho nhia Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛhwehwɛ nnipa mu bio, a enti ɛsɛ sɛ wɔba nʼanim begye atemmu.
For he doth not long consider a man, to bring him before God in judgment.
24 Ɔbobɔ abirɛmpɔn gu a ɔnyɛ nhwehwɛmu biara, na ɔde afoforo sisi wɔn anan mu.
He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and setteth others in their stead;
25 Efisɛ ohu wɔn nneyɛe, otu wɔn gu anadwo na wɔdwerɛw wɔn.
Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the night, and they are crushed.
26 Otua wɔn amumɔyɛsɛm so ka wɔ faako a obiara betumi ahu wɔn,
He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others,
27 efisɛ wɔman fii nʼakyi kɔe na wɔampɛ nʼakwan biara anhwɛ.
Because they have turned back from him, and would consider none of his ways;
28 Wɔmaa ahiafo sufrɛ duu nʼanim na ɛma ɔtee mmɔborɔni su.
So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
29 Nanso sɛ ɔyɛ komm a, hena na obetumi abu no fɔ? Sɛ ɔde nʼanim hintaw nso a, hena na obehu no? Nanso odi onipa ne ɔman so pɛpɛɛpɛ,
When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;
30 ɔmma onipa a onnim Nyame nni hene, sɛnea ɔrensum nnipa no mfiri.
That the ungodly man reign not, that the people be not ensnared.
31 “Sɛ ɛba sɛ onipa ka kyerɛ Onyankopɔn se, ‘Mayɛ bɔne na merenyɛ bɔne bio.
For hath he said unto God, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend;
32 Kyerɛ me na minhu; na sɛ mayɛ bɔne a, merenyɛ saa bio.’
What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?
33 So ɛsɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn gyina nea woka so tua wo ka, wɔ bere a woayɛ sɛ worennu wo ho ana? Ɛsɛ sɛ wusi gyinae, ɛnyɛ me; enti ka nea wunim kyerɛ me.
Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speak then what thou knowest.
34 “Nnipa a wɔwɔ ntease pae mu ka, nimdefo a wotie me ka kyerɛ me se,
Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who heareth me:
35 ‘Hiob nkasa nimdeɛ kwan so; aba biara nni ne kasa mu.’
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were not with intelligence.
36 Ao, sɛ wɔsɔɔ Hiob hwɛ kɔɔ akyiri a anka eye, efisɛ oyiyii nsɛm ano sɛ omumɔyɛfo!
Would that Job may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answers after the manner of evil men!
37 Ɔde atuatew ka ne bɔne ho; ɔde ahantan bɔ ne nsam gu yɛn so na ɔma ne nsɛm a ɔka tia Onyankopɔn no dɔɔso.”
For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
