1 Afei Hiob buae se,
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Mate nsɛm bebree a ɛte sɛ eyinom; na mo nyinaa moyɛ ogyamserewfo!
I have heard many such things: miserable comforters [are] ye all.
3 So mo kasa tenten no remma awiei ana? Dɛn na ɛhaw mo nti a mugu so regye akyinnye yi?
Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
4 Anka me nso metumi akasa sɛ mo, sɛ mo na mowɔ me tebea yi mu a, anka metumi akeka nsɛm a ɛyɛ dɛ atia mo na mabu mo animtiaa.
I also could speak as ye [do]: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake my head at you.
5 Nanso anka mɛhyɛ mo den; anka awerɛkyekye nsɛm a ebefi mʼanom no bɛma mo ahotɔ.
[But] I would strengthen you with my mouth and the moving of my lips should assuage [your grief].
6 “Nanso sɛ mekasa a ɔyaw a mete no remmrɛ ase; na sɛ mankasa nso a, ɛrennyae.
Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged: and [though] I forbear, what am I eased?
7 Onyankopɔn, ampa ara woama mabrɛ woasɛe me fi pasaa.
But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
8 Woakyekyere me, ama abɛyɛ adansedi; me so tew ara na ɛtew na edi adanse tia me.
And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, [which] is a witness [against me]: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
9 Onyankopɔn tow hyɛ me so tetew me wɔ nʼabufuw mu na ɔtwɛre ne se gu me so; nea ɔne me anya no pɔkyere nʼani hwɛ me.
He teareth [me] in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; my enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
10 Nnipa bue wɔn ano di me ho fɛw; wɔbɔ me sotɔre de bu me animtiaa na wɔka wɔn ho bɔ mu de tia me.
They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves against me.
11 Onyankopɔn de me ama abɔnefo watow me ato amumɔyɛfo nsam.
God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
12 Na biribiara kɔ yiye ma me, nanso ɔdwerɛw me; osoo me kɔn mu, tow me hwee hɔ. Ɔde me asi nʼani so;
I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken [me] by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
13 nʼagyantowfo atwa me ho ahyia, ohwirew mʼasaabo mu a wanhu me mmɔbɔ maa me bɔnwoma petee fam.
His archers encompass me; he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
14 Ɔba me so bere biara; na ɔtow hyɛ me so sɛ ɔkofo.
He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.
15 “Mapam atweaatam akata me were so na masie mʼanintɔn wɔ mfutuma mu.
I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.
16 Agyaadwotwa ama mʼani ayɛ kɔɔ; sunsuma kabii atwa mʼani ho ahyia,
My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids [are] the shades of death;
17 nanso me nsa nyɛɛ basabasayɛ biara na me mpaebɔ yɛ kann.
Not for [any] injustice in my hands: also my prayer [is] pure.
18 “Asase, nkata me mogya so; na mma me sufrɛ to ntwa da!
O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.
19 Mprempren mpo, me danseni wɔ ɔsoro; me kamafo wɔ soro hɔ.
Also now, behold, my witness [is] in heaven, and my record [is] on high.
20 Me dimafo yɛ mʼadamfo bere a mʼaniwa tew nisu gu Onyankopɔn so yi;
My friends scorn me: [but] my eye poureth out [tears] to God.
21 ogyina onipa anan mu di ma no wɔ Onyankopɔn anim sɛnea obi di ma nʼadamfo no.
O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man [pleadeth] for his neighbor!
22 “Mfe kakraa bi akyi ansa na metu kwan akɔ koransan.
When a few years are come, then I shall go the way [whence] I shall not return.
