< Hiob 12 >
And Job answered and said,
So then ye [alone] are men, and wisdom shall die with you?
3 Nanso mewɔ adwene sɛ mo ara monnsen me.
[But] I also have a heart as well as you.
4 “Mayɛ aserewde ama me nnamfonom, mefrɛɛ Onyankopɔn na obuae, aserewde teta bi, nanso meteɛ na me ho nni asɛm.
For a righteous and blameless man has become a subject for mockery.
5 Nnipa a wɔn ho tɔ wɔn no bu amanehunu animtiaa sɛnea wobu wɔn a wɔn nan rewatiri no awiei animtiaa no.
For it had been ordained that he should fall under others at the appointed time, and that his houses should be spoiled by transgressors: let not however any one trust that, being evil, he shall be [held] guiltless,
6 Wɔmmfa wɔn nsa nka akorɔmfo ntamadan, na wɔn a woyi Onyankopɔn abufuw wɔ bammɔ na Onyankopɔn bɔ nea ɔde ma wɔn ho ban.
even as many as provoke the Lord, as if there were indeed to be no inquisition [made] of them.
7 “Bisa mmoa no, na wɔbɛkyerɛ wo anaasɛ wim nnomaa no, na wɔbɛka akyerɛ wo
But ask now the beasts, if they may speak to thee; and the birds of the air, if they may declare to thee.
Tell the earth, if it may speak to thee: and the fishes of the sea shall explain to thee.
Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them?
Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.
11 So aso nsɔ nsɛm nhwɛ sɛnea tɛkrɛma ka aduan hwɛ no ana?
For the ear tries words, and the palate tastes meats.
In length of time is wisdom, and in long life knowledge.
With him are wisdom and power, with him counsel and understanding.
14 Nea obubu gu no, obiara rentumi nsi; nea ɔde no to afiase no, obiara rentumi nyi no.
If he should cast down, who will build up? if he should shut up against man, who shall open?
15 Sɛ ɔma osu gyae tɔ a, asase no so yɛ wosee; sɛ ogyaa osutɔ mu a, ɛsɛe asase no.
If he should withhold the water, he will dry the earth: and if he should let it loose, he overthrows and destroys it.
16 Ahoɔden ne nkonimdi yɛ ne de osisifo ne nea wosisi no no nso yɛ ne de.
With him are strength and power: he has knowledge and understanding.
He leads counsellors away captive, and maddens the judges of the earth.
18 Ɔworɔw ahemfo nkyehama na ɔde abɔso bɔ wɔn asen.
He seats kings upon thrones, and girds their loins with a girdle.
19 Ɔpa asɔfo ho ntama, na otu nnipa a wɔn ase atim akyɛ gu.
He sends away priests into captivity, and overthrows the mighty ones of the earth.
20 Ɔka afotufo a wogye wɔn di no kasaboa hyɛ, na ogye mpanyimfo nhumu.
He changes the lips of the trusty, and he knows the understanding of the elders.
21 Ɔde animguase gu atitiriw so na otintim gye ahoɔdenfo nsam akode.
He pours dishonour upon princes, and heals the lowly.
22 Ɔda sum mu nneɛma a ahintaw adi na ɔde sum kabii ba hann mu.
Revealing deep things out of darkness: and he has brought into light the shadow of death.
23 Ɔyɛ aman akɛse, na ɔsɛe wɔn; ɔtrɛw aman mu, na ɔhwete wɔn mu.
Causing the nations to wander, and destroying them: overthrowing the nations, and leading them [away].
24 Ogye wiase akannifo adwene fi wɔn nsam; na ɔma wokyinkyin asase wosee a ɔkwan nna so so.
Perplexing the minds of the princes of the earth: and he causes them to wander in a way, they have not known, [saying],
25 Wɔkeka wɔ sum mu a wonni kanea; na ɔma wɔtɔ ntintan sɛ asabowfo.”
Let them grope [in] darkness, and [let there be] no light, and let them wander as a drunken man.
