< Yeremia 47 >
1 Ansa na Farao bɛtow ahyɛ Gasa so no, eyi ne Awurade asɛm a ɛfa Filistifo ho a ɛbaa odiyifo Yeremia nkyɛn:
The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before the time that Pharaoh smote Gazzah.
2 Sɛɛ na Awurade se: “Monhwɛ sɛnea nsu rebobɔ ba wɔ atifi fam; ɛbɛyɛ ɔhweam a abu afa so. Ebebu afa asase no ne biribiara ɛwɔ so no so, nkurow no ne nnipa a wɔtete mu. Nnipa no bɛteɛteɛ mu; wɔn a wɔte asase no so nyinaa betwa adwo
Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, waters are coming up out of the north, and they shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land, and what filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein: and the men shall cry aloud, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.
3 bere a wɔate apɔnkɔ a wotu mmirika no anan ase nnyigyei, na wɔate atamfo no nteaseɛnam gyegyeegye ne wɔn ntwahonan nnyigyei no. Agyanom rentwa wɔn ani nhwɛ wɔn mma; wɔn nsa bɛsensɛn wɔn ho kwa.
Because of the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stud-horses, because of the rushing sound of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, fathers do not turn round to their children from their feebleness of hands;
4 Na da no aba sɛ wɔsɛe Filistifo no nyinaa na wotwa wɔn a wɔaka no nyinaa gu, wɔn a anka wotumi boa Tiro ne Sidon no. Awurade rebɛsɛe Filistifo no, nkae a wofi Kreta mpoano no.
Because of the day that cometh to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the Lord devastateth the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphthor.
5 Gasa bɛbɔ tikwaw bere a ɔretwa adwo; wɔbɛma Askelon atɔ mum. Mo nkae a mowɔ tataw so, mobɛbobɔ mo ho akam akosi da bɛn?
Baldness is come upon Gazzah; ruined is Ashkelon with the remnant of their valley: how long yet wilt thou cut thyself?
6 “‘Aa, Awurade afoa,’ ‘da bɛn na wobɛhome? San kɔhyɛ wo boha mu; gyae na da komm.’
Woe! thou sword of the Lord, how long yet wilt thou not be quiet? withdraw thyself into thy scabbard, take thee rest, and be still.
7 Na ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ada komm bere a Awurade ahyɛ no bere a wahyɛ no se ɔnkɔtow nhyɛ Askelon ne mpoano asase no so?”
Yet how canst thou be quiet? When the Lord hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon, and against the sea-coast—thither hath he destined it.
