< Yeremia 46 >
1 Eyi ne asɛm a efi Awurade nkyɛn baa odiyifo Yeremia hɔ a ɛfa aman no ho.
The word of the LORD which came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Gentiles;
2 Nea ɛfa Misraim ho: Eyi ne nsɛm a etia Misraimhene Farao Neko asraafo a Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar dii wɔn so nkonim wɔ Karkemis, Asubɔnten Eufrate ho wɔ Yudahene Yosia babarima Yehoiakim adedi afe a ɛto so anan no:
Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaoh-necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah.
3 “Siesie wo nkatabo akɛse ne nketewa nyinaa, na muntu santen nkɔ ɔsa!
Order ye the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.
4 Munsiesie apɔnkɔ no, na momforo ntenatena wɔn so. Munnyinagyina mo afa a mohyehyɛ mo nnade kyɛw! Monsew mo mpeaw ano, na monhyɛ mo nkatabo.
Harness the horses; and get up, ye horsemen, and stand forth with [your] helmets; furbish the spears, [and] put on the brigandines.
5 Dɛn na mihu? Wɔabɔ hu, wɔresan wɔn akyi, wɔn dɔmmarima adi nkogu. Woguan ntɛm so a wɔnhwɛ wɔn akyi, na ehu wɔ baabiara,” Awurade na ose.
Wherefore have I seen them dismayed [and] turned away back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: [for] fear [was] round about, saith the LORD.
6 Ɔhoɔharefo ntumi nguan, na ɔhoɔdenfo nso saa ara. Atifi fam wɔ Asubɔnten Eufrate ho wohintihintiw na wɔhwehwe ase.
Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall toward the north by the river Euphrates.
7 “Hena, na ɔma ne homene so sɛ Asubɔnten Nil, sɛ nsubɔnten a mu nsu woro yi?
Who [is] this [that] cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
8 Misraim ma ne homene so sɛ Nil, sɛ nsubɔnten a mu nsu woro. Ɔka se, ‘Mɛsɔre akata asase no so; mɛsɛe nkuropɔn ne mu nnipa.’
Egypt riseth up like a flood, and [his] waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, [and] will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
9 Monkɔ mo anim, apɔnkɔ! Monka wɔn anibere so, mo nteaseɛnamkafo! Muntu nteɛ, dɔmmarima, Kus ne Put mmarima a mukura nkatabo, Lidia mmarima a motow agyan.
Come up, ye horses; and rage, ye chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; the Ethiopians and the Libyans, that handle the shield; and the Lydians, that handle [and] bend the bow.
10 Nanso da no yɛ Awurade, Asafo Awurade dea, aweretɔda, nʼatamfo so aweretɔ. Afoa bekunkum akosi sɛ ɔbɛmee, akosi bere a ɔde mogya bedwudwo ne osukɔm ano. Efisɛ, Awurade, Asafo Awurade bɛbɔ afɔre wɔ atifi fam asase a ɛwɔ Asubɔnten Eufrate ho no so.
For this [is] the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
11 “Foro kɔ Gilead kogye aduru Misraim Babea Ɔbabun. Nanso nnuru bebrebe a wofa no yɛ ɔkwa, ayaresa biara nni hɔ ma wo.
Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; [for] thou shalt not be cured.
12 Amanaman no bɛte wʼanimguase; wʼagyaadwo bɛhyɛ asase so ma. Ɔkofo baako behintiw afa ɔfoforo so; na wɔn baanu bɛbɔ mu ahwe ase.”
The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry hath filled the land: for the mighty man hath stumbled against the mighty, [and] they are fallen both together.
13 Eyi ne asɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ odiyifo Yeremia a ɛfa Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar ba a ɔbɛba abɛtow ahyɛ Misraim so:
The word that the LORD spake to Jeremiah the prophet, how Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come [and] smite the land of Egypt.
14 “Mommɔ eyi ho dawuru wɔ Misraim, na mompae mu nka wɔ Migdol; monka wɔ Memfis ne Tapanhes nso se, ‘Munnyinagyina na monyɛ krado, efisɛ, afoa rekunkum wɔn a wɔatwa mo ho ahyia.’
Declare ye in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Noph and in Tahpanhes: say ye, Stand fast, and prepare thee; for the sword shall devour round about thee.
15 Adɛn nti na mo dɔmmarima bɛbotow sɛɛ? Wɔrentumi nnyina, efisɛ, Awurade bɛbɔ wɔn ahwe fam.
Why are thy valiant [men] swept away? they stood not, because the LORD did drive them.
16 Wobehintihintiw atoatoa so; wɔbɛhwehwe ase adeda wɔn ho wɔn ho so. Wɔbɛka se, ‘Monsɔre, momma yɛnkɔ yɛn nkyi nkɔ yɛn nkurɔfo nkyɛn ne faako a wɔwoo yɛn, na yemfi nhyɛsofo no afoa ano.’
He made many to fall, yea, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
17 Ɛhɔ na wɔbɛteɛ mu se, ‘Misraimhene Farao tu ne ho kwa; nʼakwannya a ɔwɔ no atwa mu.’
They did cry there, Pharaoh king of Egypt [is but] a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.
18 “Ampa ara sɛ mete ase yi” Ɔhene a ne din ne Asafo Awurade na ose, “Ɔbaako bɛba a ɔte sɛ Tabor wɔ mmepɔw no mu, sɛ Karmel wɔ mpoano.
[As] I live, saith the King, whose name [is] the LORD of hosts, Surely as Tabor [is] among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, [so] shall he come.
19 Mommoaboa mo nneɛma ano ntwɛn nnommumfa, mo a motete Misraim, efisɛ wɔbɛsɛe Memfis kurow na ɛbɛda mpan a obiara rentena mu.
O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity: for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
20 “Misraim yɛ nantwi ba bere a ne ho yɛ fɛ, nanso ɔtɛn bi fi atifi fam reba ne so.
Egypt [is like] a very fair heifer, [but] destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north.
21 Asraafo apaafo a wɔwɔ wɔn mu no te sɛ nantwimma a wɔadodɔ srade. Wɔn nso bɛdan wɔn ho abɔ mu aguan, wɔrentumi nnyina wɔn anan so, efisɛ amanehunu da no reba wɔn so, bere a wɔde bɛtwe wɔn aso no.
Also her hired men [are] in the midst of her like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, [and] are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, [and] the time of their visitation.
22 Misraim bɛteɛ mu sɛ ɔwɔ a ɔreguan bere a ɔtamfo de ahoɔden reba ne so no; wɔde mmonnua bɛba ne so te sɛ, mmarima a wobu nnua.
The voice thereof shall go like a serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
23 Wɔbɛsɛe ne kwae,” Awurade na ose, “sɛnea ayɛ kusuu yi mpo. Wɔdɔɔso bebree sen mmoadabi, na wɔrentumi nkan wɔn.
They shall cut down her forest, saith the LORD, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the grasshoppers, and [are] innumerable.
24 Wobegu Misraim Babea anim ase, wɔde no bɛhyɛ atifi fam nnipa no nsa.”
The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
25 Asafo Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn, ka se, “Mede asotwe reba Tebes nyame Amon, Farao, Misraim ne nʼanyame ne nʼahemfo ne wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to Farao so no so.
The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods, and their kings; even Pharaoh, and [all] them that trust in him:
26 Mede wɔn bɛhyɛ wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wokum wɔn no, Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar ne nʼadwumayɛfo no nsa. Nanso akyiri no, nnipa bɛtena Misraim asase so te sɛ kan no,” Awurade na ose.
And I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants: and afterward it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith the LORD.
27 “Nsuro, Yakob me somfo; nni yaw, Israel. Ampa ara megye wo afi beae a ɛwɔ akyirikyiri, ne wʼasefo afi wɔn nnommumfa asase so Yakob bɛsan anya asomdwoe ne bammɔ, na obiara renhunahuna no.
But fear not thou, O my servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make [him] afraid.
28 Nsuro, Yakob me somfo; na me ne wo wɔ hɔ,” Awurade na ose. “Ɛwɔ mu, mesɛe aman no nyinaa koraa aman a mehwetee mo kɔɔ so no de, nanso merensɛe mo korakora. Mede trenee nko ara na ɛbɛteɛteɛ mo so; meremma mommfa mo ho nni a merentwe mo aso.”
Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I [am] with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
