< Yeremia 32 >
1 Eyi ne asɛm a efi Awurade nkyɛn baa Yeremia hɔ wɔ Yudahene Sedekia adedi afe a ɛto so du a na ɛyɛ Nebukadnessar adedi afe a ɛto so dunwɔtwe no mu.
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
2 Na Babiloniahene nsraadɔm aka Yerusalem ahyɛ a na odiyifo Yeremia nso da dua mu wɔ awɛmfo adiwo a ɛwɔ Yuda ahemfi.
Now at that time the king of Babylon's army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah's house.
For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying: 'Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say: Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
and Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
5 Ɔde Sedekia bɛkɔ Babilonia, na hɔ na ɔbɛtena akosi sɛ me ne no bedi, Awurade na ose. Sɛ woko tia Babiloniafo no a worenni nkonim.’”
and he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I remember him, saith the LORD; though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper?'
6 Yeremia kae se, “Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se,
And Jeremiah said: 'The word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
7 Wo wɔfa Salum babarima Hanamel rebɛba wo nkyɛn, abɛka se, ‘Tɔ mʼasase a ɛwɔ Anatot no, efisɛ woyɛ me busuani titiriw na wowɔ ho kwan, na ɛyɛ wʼasɛde nso sɛ wotɔ.’
Behold, Hanamel, the son of Shallum thine uncle, shall come unto thee, saying: Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth; for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.'
8 “Na sɛnea Awurade aka no, me wɔfa ba Hanamel baa me nkyɛn wɔ awɛmfo adiwo hɔ bɛkae se, ‘Tɔ mʼasase a ɛwɔ Anatot wɔ Benyamin mantam mu no. Esiane sɛ wowɔ ho kwan sɛ wugye na wofa no nti, tɔ na fa.’ “Mihuu sɛ eyi yɛ Awurade asɛm.”
So Hanamel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me: 'Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself.' Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.
9 Enti metɔɔ asase a na ɛwɔ Anatot no fii me wɔfa ba Hanamel nkyɛn na mituaa dwetɛ gram ɔha ne aduɔkron anan maa no.
And I bought the field that was in Anathoth of Hanamel mine uncle's son, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
10 Mede me nsa hyɛɛ adetɔ nhoma no ase, sɔw ano wɔ nnansefo anim, na mede nsania karii dwetɛ mpɔw no.
And I subscribed the deed, and sealed it, and called witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.
11 Na mefaa adetɔ nhoma no, nea wɔasɔw ano a ɛho nhyehyɛe wɔ mu no, ne nea wɔnsɔw ano no nso,
So I took the deed of the purchase, both that which was sealed, containing the terms and conditions, and that which was open;
12 na mede saa adetɔ nhoma no maa Neria babarima Baruk a, ɔyɛ Maaseia nena no wɔ me wɔfa ba Hanamel, nnansefo a wɔde wɔn nsa hyɛɛ adetɔ nhoma no ase ne Yudafo a na wɔwɔ awɛmfo adiwo hɔ no nyinaa anim.
and I delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel mine uncle 's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the guard.
13 “Meka kyerɛɛ Baruk wɔ wɔn nyinaa anim se,
And I charged Baruch before them, saying:
14 ‘Nea Asafo Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn no se ni: Fa saa adetɔ so nhoma yi, nea wɔasɔw ano ne nea wɔnsɔw ano, na fa gu dɔte asuhina mu, sɛnea ɛbɛkyɛ yiye.
'Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase, both that which is sealed, and this deed which is open, and put them in an earthen vessel; that they may continue many days.
15 Nea Asafo Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn no se ni: Wɔbɛtotɔ afi, mfuw ne bobe nturo wɔ asase yi so bio.’
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall yet again be bought in this land.'
16 “Mede adetɔ nhoma no maa Neria babarima Baruk akyiri no, mebɔɔ Awurade mpae se,
Now after I had delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying:
17 “Ao, Otumfo Awurade, wo na wonam wo tumi ne wo basa a woateɛ mu so abɔ ɔsoro ne asase. Biribiara nyɛ den mma wo.
'Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and by Thy outstretched arm; there is nothing too hard for Thee;
18 Wuyi ɔdɔ adi kyerɛ mpempem, nanso wutua agyanom amumɔyɛ so ka gu wɔn mma a wodi wɔn akyi srɛ so. Onyankopɔn Tweduampɔn a woso na wowɔ tumi, wo din ne Asafo Awurade,
who showest mercy unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, the LORD of hosts is His name;
great in counsel, and mighty in work; whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
20 Woyɛɛ nsɛnkyerɛnne ne anwonwade wɔ Misraim na atoa so de abesi nnɛ wɔ Israel ne adesamma nyinaa mu, na wode agye din a ɛwɔ wo de besi nnɛ.
who didst set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel and among other men; and madest Thee a name, as at this day;
21 Wode nsɛnkyerɛnne ne anwonwade, nsa a ɛyɛ den ne abasa a wɔateɛ mu ne nneɛma ɛyɛ hu yii wo man Israel fii Misraim.
and didst bring forth Thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;
22 Wode asase a wokaa ho ntam sɛ wode bɛma wɔn agyanom no maa wɔn, asase a nufusu ne ɛwo sen wɔ so.
and gavest them this land, which Thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
23 Wɔba bedii, na wɔtenaa so, nanso wɔantie wo, na wɔanni wo mmara so; wɔanyɛ nea wohyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnyɛ no. Enti wode saa amanehunu yi nyinaa baa wɔn so.
and they came in, and possessed it; but they hearkened not to Thy voice, neither walked in Thy law; they have done nothing of all that Thou commandedst them to do; therefore Thou hast caused all this evil to befall them;
24 “Hwɛ sɛnea wɔasisi ntuano mpampim de rebegye kuropɔn no. Esiane afoa, ɔkɔm ne ɔyaredɔm nti, wɔde kuropɔn no bɛhyɛ Babiloniafo a wɔretow ahyɛ ne so no nsa. Nea wokae no aba mu sɛnea wuhu no mprempren no.
behold the mounds, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence; and what Thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, Thou seest it.
Yet Thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD: Buy thee the field for money, and call witnesses; whereas the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.'
Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying:
27 “Mene Awurade adesamma nyinaa Nyankopɔn. Na biribi yɛ den dodo ma me ana?
'Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there any thing too hard for Me?
Therefore thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
29 Babiloniafo a wɔretow ahyɛ saa kuropɔn yi so no bɛba, na wɔato mu gya; wɔbɛhyew no dwerɛbee, ɛno ne afi a nnipa hyew nnuhuam wɔ atifi maa Baal na wohwiee afɔrebɔ nsa maa anyame foforo de hyɛɛ me abufuw no.
and the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered unto Baal, and poured out drink-offerings unto other gods, to provoke Me.
30 “Israelfo ne Yudafo nyɛɛ biribiara sɛ bɔne wɔ mʼani so, efi wɔn mmabun bere mu; ampa ara Israelfo nyɛɛ biribiara sɛ wɔde nneɛma a wɔde wɔn nsa ayɛ bɛhyɛ me abufuw, Awurade na ose.
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done that which was evil in My sight from their youth; for the children of Israel have only provoked Me with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
31 Efi da a wɔkyekyeree saa kuropɔn yi de besi nnɛ, wahyɛ me abufuw ne abufuwtraso a ɛsɛ sɛ miyi no fi mʼani so.
For this city hath been to Me a provocation of Mine anger and of My fury from the day that they built it even unto this day, that I should remove it from before My face;
32 Israelfo ne Yudafo de bɔne a wɔayɛ nyinaa ahyɛ me abufuw, wɔn, wɔn ahemfo ne adwumayɛfo, wɔn asɔfo ne adiyifo, mmarima a wɔwɔ Yuda ne nnipa a wɔwɔ Yerusalem.
because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
33 Wɔdan wɔn akyi kyerɛɛ me; ɛwɔ mu, mekyerɛkyerɛ wɔn bere biara de, nanso wɔantie na wɔamfa nteɛso.
And they have turned unto Me the back, and not the face; and though I taught them, teaching them betimes and often, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
34 Wɔasisi ahoni a ɛyɛ akyiwade wɔ ofi a me Din da so no mu, de guu ho fi.
But they set their abominations in the house whereupon My name is called, to defile it.
35 Wosisii sorɔnsorɔmmea maa Baal wɔ Ben Hinom bon mu, de wɔn mmabarima ne mmabea bɔɔ afɔre maa Molek, wɔ bere a menhyɛɛ wɔn na ɛmmaa mʼadwene mu da sɛ wɔnyɛ saa akyiwade yi mma Yuda nyɛ bɔne.
And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to set apart their sons and their daughters unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into My mind, that they should do this abomination; to cause Judah to sin.
And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say: It is given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence:
37 Ampa ara mɛboaboa wɔn ano afi nsase a mifi mʼabufuwhyew mu pam wɔn koguu hɔ; mɛsan de wɔn aba ha na mama wɔatena ase ahotɔ mu.
Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries, whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them back unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely;
38 Wɔbɛyɛ me nkurɔfo, na mayɛ wɔn Nyankopɔn.
and they shall be My people, and I will be their God;
39 Na mɛma wɔn koma koro na wɔayɛ wɔn ade abɔ mu, sɛnea bere biara wobesuro me, wɔn ankasa ne wɔn nkyirimma yiyedi nti.
and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me for ever; for the good of them, and of their children after them;
40 Na me ne wɔn bɛyɛ daapem apam: Merennyae wɔn yiyeyɛ da, na mede ɔpɛ bɛhyɛ wɔn koma mu, ama wɔasuro me, sɛnea wɔrentwe wɔn ho mfi me ho da.
and I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; and I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me.
41 Mʼani begye sɛ mɛyɛ wɔn yiye, na ampa ara mede me koma ne me kra nyinaa bedua wɔn wɔ asase yi so.
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land in truth with My whole heart and with My whole soul.
42 “Sɛɛ na Awurade se: Sɛnea mede amanehunu kɛse yi nyinaa aba nkurɔfo yi so no, saa ara na mede yiyedi a mahyɛ wɔn ho bɔ no bɛma wɔn.
For thus saith the LORD: Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
43 Wɔbɛtotɔ nsase bio wɔ ha, nea moka wɔ ho se, ‘Wɔde ahyɛ Babiloniafo nsa, ɛno nti ada mpan, na nnipa anaa mmoa nni so no.’
And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say: It is desolate, without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
44 Wɔde dwetɛ bɛtotɔ nsase, na wɔbɛyɛ adetɔ nhoma wɔ so. Wɔbɛsɔw ano wɔ nnansefo anim wɔ Benyamin mantam, nkuraa a atwa Yerusalem ho ahyia, nkurow a ɛwɔ Yuda, bepɔw so man, atɔe fam mmepɔw ase ne Negeb, efisɛ mɛsan de wɔn ahonyade ama wɔn, Awurade na ose.”
Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe the deeds, and seal them, and call witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the hill-country, and in the cities of the Lowland, and in the cities of the South; for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.'
