< Yeremia 25 >
1 Asɛm a ɛfa Yudafo nyinaa ho baa Yeremia nkyɛn wɔ Yudahene Yosia babarima Yehoiakim adedi afe a ɛto so anan a ɛyɛ Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar adedi afe a edi kan no mu.
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2 Enti odiyifo Yeremia ka kyerɛɛ Yudafo ne wɔn a wɔtete Yerusalem nyinaa se,
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
3 Mfe aduonu abiɛsa ni, efi Yudahene Amon babarima Yosia adedi afe a ɛto so dumiɛnsa besi nnɛ, Awurade asɛm aba me so na makasa akyerɛ mo mpɛn bebree, nanso muntiei ɛ.
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, Yahweh’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4 Mpo Awurade asoma nʼasomfo a wɔyɛ nʼadiyifo aba mo nkyɛn mpɛn bebree, na muntiee wɔn, na monyɛɛ aso mmaa wɔn ɛ.
Yahweh has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),
5 Wɔkae se, “Mo mu biara mfi nʼakwan bɔne ne ne nneyɛe bɔne ho, na mubetumi atena asase a Awurade de maa mo ne mo agyanom no so afebɔɔ.
saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.
6 Munni anyame foforo akyi nkɔsom wɔn, nsɔre wɔn; mommfa nea mode mo nsa ayɛ no nhyɛ me abufuw. Afei merenhaw mo.”
Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”
7 “Nanso moantie me,” Awurade na ose, “na mode nea mode mo nsa ayɛ ahyɛ me abufuw, na mode ɔhaw aba mo so.”
“Yet you have not listened to me,” says Yahweh, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”
8 Afei nea Asafo Awurade se ni: “Esiane sɛ moantie me nsɛm no nti,
Therefore Yahweh of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,
9 mɛfrɛ atifi fam nnipa nyinaa ne mʼakoa Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar,” Awurade na ose, “na mede wɔn abɛko atia saa asase yi ne sofo, ne amanaman a wɔatwa ho ahyia nyinaa. Mɛsɛe wɔn pasaa na mayɛ wɔn ahodwiriwde ne fɛwdi, ne amamfo afebɔɔ.
behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says Yahweh, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Meyi ahosan ne anigye nnyigyei, ayeforokunu ne ayeforo nne, awiyammo nnyigyei ne kanea hann afi wɔn mu.
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 Ɔman mu no nyinaa bɛdan asase wosee, na saa amanaman yi bɛsom Babiloniahene mfirihyia aduɔson.
This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 “Na mfirihyia aduɔson awiei no, mɛtwe Babiloniahene ne ne man, Babiloniafo asase aso wɔ wɔn amumɔyɛ ho, mɛdan no amamfo afebɔɔ,” sɛnea Awurade se ni.
“It will happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,” says Yahweh, “for their iniquity. I will make the land of the Chaldeans desolate forever.
13 “Mɛma asotwe a mahyɛ atia asase no nyinaa aba wɔn so, nea wɔakyerɛw wɔ nhoma yi mu na Yeremia ahyɛ ho nkɔm atia aman no nyinaa no.
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 Wɔn ankasa de, amanaman bebree ne ahempɔn de wɔn bɛyɛ nkoa; na metua wɔn nneyɛe ne wɔn nsa ano adwuma so ka.”
For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”
15 Sɛɛ na Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn, ka kyerɛɛ me: “Gye saa kuruwa yi a mʼabufuwhyew nsa ahyɛ no ma yi, na ma amanaman a mɛsoma wo wɔn nkyɛn no nyinaa nnom.
For Yahweh, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
16 Sɛ wɔnom a, wɔbɛtɔ ntintan na wɔabobɔ dam esiane afoa a mɛsoma akɔ wɔn so no nti.”
They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17 Ɛno nti, migyee kuruwa no fii Awurade nsam, na memaa amanaman a ɔsomaa me wɔn nkyɛn no nomee:
Then I took the cup at Yahweh’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Yahweh had sent me:
18 Yerusalem ne Yuda nkurow, nʼahemfo ne ne nnwumayɛfo sɛ wɔnyɛ ɔsɛe, aninyanne, animɔharefo ne nnome, sɛnea wɔte nnɛ da yi.
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;
19 Misraimhene Farao, nʼasomfo, nʼadwumayɛfo ne ne manfo nyinaa,
Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;

and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon;
22 Tiro ne Sidon ahemfo nyinaa; ne ahemfo a wɔwɔ mpoano aman a wɔwɔ po agya no;
and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23 Dedan, Tema, Bus ne nnipa a wɔtete akyirikyiri no;
Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24 Arabia ahemfo ne ananafo ahemfo nyinaa a wɔtete nweatam so no.
and all the kings of Arabia, all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness;
25 Simri, Elam ne Media ahemfo nyinaa;
and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
26 ne ahemfo a wɔwɔ atifi fam nyinaa, wɔn a wɔbɛn ne wɔn a wɔwɔ akyirikyiri, ne wɔn mu biara, asase so ahenni ahorow. Na wɔn nyinaa akyi no Sesakhene nso bɛnom bi.
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth. The king of Sheshach will drink after them.
“You shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’
28 Na sɛ wɔampɛ sɛ wogye wo nsam kuruwa no nom a, ka kyerɛ wɔn se, ‘Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: Ɛsɛ sɛ monom!
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.
29 Monhwɛ, merebefi ase de amanehunu aba kuropɔn a me Din da so no so, na mobɛfa mo ho adi a wɔrentwe mo aso ana? Wɔbɛtwe mo aso, efisɛ merefrɛ afoa aba wɔn a wɔtete asase no so nyinaa so, Asafo Awurade na ose.’
For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says Yahweh of Armies.”’
30 “Afei hyɛ nsɛm yi nyinaa ho nkɔm tia wɔn, na ka kyerɛ wɔn se, “‘Awurade befi ɔsoro abobɔ mu; ɔbɛma ne nne so afi ne tenabea kronkron hɔ, na wabobɔ mu dennen atia nʼasase. Ɔbɛteɛ mu te sɛ wɔn a wotiatia bobe aba so, ɔbɛteɛ mu agu wɔn a wɔtete asase no so no so.
“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘Yahweh will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 Huuyɛ begyigye akɔ nsase ano, na Awurade bɛbɔ kwaadu, atia amanaman; obebu adesamma nyinaa atɛn na ɔde amumɔyɛfo ama afoa,’” Awurade na ose.
A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says Yahweh.”
32 Sɛɛ na Asafo Awurade se: “Monhwɛ! Amanehunu retrɛtrɛw fi ɔman so kɔ ɔman foforo so; ahum kɛse bi rema ne ho so afi nsase ano.”
Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
33 Saa bere no, wɔn a Awurade akunkum wɔn no bɛdeda baabiara, fi asase ano kosi ano nohɔ. Wɔrensu wɔn na wɔremmoaboa wɔn ano na wɔrensie wɔn, na wɔbɛyɛ sɛ sumina a egugu fam.
The slain of Yahweh will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
34 Munsu na muntwa adwo, mo nguanhwɛfo; mommunummunum wɔ mfutuma mu, mo nguankuw ntuanofo. Mo kum bere no adu; mobɛhwehwe ase sɛ adwennini a wɔadodɔ.
Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
35 Nguanhwɛfo no rennya baabiara nguan nkɔ, na nguankuw no ntuanofo no rennya kwan nguan.
The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36 Muntie nguanhwɛfo no su, ne nguankuw no ntuanofo agyaadwotwa, efisɛ Awurade resɛe wɔn mmoa adidibea.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for Yahweh destroys their pasture.
37 Sare nsase a asomdwoe wɔ so no bɛda mpan esiane Awurade abufuwhyew no nti.
The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Yahweh.
38 Obefi ne tu mu sɛ gyata, na wɔn asase bɛda mpan esiane nnomumfafo no afoa ne Awurade abufuwhyew no nti.
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
