1 Afei mo adefo nso muntie! Munsu na muntwa agyaadwo wɔ amanehunu a ɛreba mo so no ho.
Go, now, you rich! Weep, howling over your miseries that are coming on [you];
2 Mo ahonya no aporɔw na nwewee awe mo ntama.
your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten;
3 Mo sika ne mo dwetɛ agye nkannare na saa nkannare no bedi adanse atia mo, na ahyew mo honam sɛ ogya. Moahyehyɛ agyapade wɔ nna a edi akyiri no mu.
your gold and silver have rotted, and the rust of them will be to you for a testimony, and will eat your flesh as fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days!
4 Muntuaa nnipa a wɔyɛɛ adwuma wɔ mo mfuw mu no ka enti wɔresi apini. Na wɔn apinisi no adu Onyankopɔn, Asafo Awurade no aso mu.
Behold, the reward of the workmen cries out, of those who in-gathered your fields, which has been fraudulently kept back by you, and the exclamations of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the LORD of Hosts;
5 Mo asetena wɔ asase so ha yɛ afɛfɛde ne anigye. Moadɔ srade ama okum da.
you lived in luxury on the earth, and were wanton; you nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter;
6 Moabu nea ɔnnsɔre ntia mo no na onni fɔ no kumfɔ akum no.
you condemned—you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you.
7 Me nuanom, montɔ mo bo ase nkosi sɛ Awurade bɛba. Monhwɛ sɛnea okuafo nya boasetɔ twɛn asusow bere.
Be patient, then, brothers, until the coming of the LORD; behold, the farmer expects the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, until he may receive rain—early and latter;
8 Ɛsɛ sɛ mo nso motɔ mo bo ase. Momma mo anidaso mu nyɛ den, efisɛ da a Awurade bɛba no abɛn.
you also be patient; establish your hearts, because the coming of the LORD has drawn near;
9 Anuanom, munnni nseku ntia mo ho mo ho, na Onyankopɔn ammu mo atɛn. Hwɛ, Otemmufo no gyina ɔpon no ano.
do not murmur against one another, brothers, that you may not be condemned; behold, the Judge has stood before the door.
10 Me nuanom, monkae adiyifo a wɔde Awurade din kasae no. Momfa wɔn sɛ nhwɛso wɔ wɔn boasetɔ ne tumi a wotumi de tenaa amanehunu mu no.
Brothers, [as] an example of the suffering of evil and of patience, take the prophets who spoke in the Name of the LORD;
11 Yɛde nidi ma wɔn, efisɛ wonyaa boasetɔ. Moate Hiob boasetɔ no na munim nea Awurade de dom no awiei no; efisɛ Awurade yɛ ɔdomfo ne mmɔborɔhunufo.
behold, we call those who are enduring blessed; you heard of the endurance of Job, and you have seen the end from the LORD, that the LORD is very compassionate, and pitying.
12 Ne nyinaa akyi no, anuanom, sɛ mohyɛ bɔ a, monnka ntam nsi so. Mommfa ɔsoro anaa asase anaa biribiara nka ntam. Sɛ mopɛ sɛ moka “Yiw” a, monka “Yiw.” Sɛ nso mopɛ sɛ moka “Dabi” a, monka “Dabi” na moamma Onyankopɔn atemmu ase.
And before all things, my brothers, do not swear, neither by Heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath, but let your “Yes” be yes, and the “No,” no, that you may not fall under judgment.
13 Mo mu bi wɔ ɔhaw bi mu ana? Ɛsɛ sɛ saa onipa no bɔ mpae. Mo mu bi wɔ ahotɔ mu ana? Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔto ayeyi nnwom.
Does anyone suffer evil among you? Let him pray; is anyone of good cheer? Let him sing psalms;
14 Mo mu bi yare ana? Ɛsɛ sɛ saa onipa no frɛ asafo mpanyimfo na wɔde Awurade din bɔ mpae ma no na wɔsra no ngo.
is anyone sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil, in the Name of the LORD,
15 Sɛ wɔbɔ saa mpae no gyidi mu a, ɛbɛsa ɔyarefo no yare, na Awurade bɛma no anya ahoɔden, na ne bɔne a wayɛ nyinaa, wɔde bɛkyɛ no.
and the prayer of faith will save the distressed one, and the LORD will raise him up, and if he may have committed sins, they will be forgiven to him.
16 Enti afei, monkeka mo bɔne nkyerɛ mo ho mo ho, na mommobɔ mpae mma mo ho mo ho sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛsa mo yare. Onipa trenee mpaebɔ tumi yɛ nneɛma bebree.
Be confessing to one another the trespasses, and be praying for one another, that you may be healed; very strong is a working supplication of a righteous man;
17 Yɛte sɛ Elia a ɔbɔɔ mpae nokware mu sɛ osu nntɔ, na ampa ara osu antɔ wɔ asase no so mfe abiɛsa ne fa.
Elijah was a similar-feeling man as us, and with prayer he prayed—not to rain, and it did not rain on the land three years and six months;
18 Ɔsan bɔɔ mpae bio maa osu tɔ maa asase nyaa nnɔbae.
and again he prayed, and the sky gave rain, and the land brought forth her fruit.
19 Me nuanom, sɛ mo mu bi guan fi nokware ho na ɔfoforo de no ba bio a,
Brothers, if anyone among you may go astray from the truth, and anyone may turn him back,
20 monkae sɛ, nea ɔdan ɔdebɔneyɛni fi nʼakwammɔne ho no gye no nkwa fi owu mu ma wɔde ne bɔne dodow no nyinaa kyɛ no.
let him know that he who turned back a sinner from the straying of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
