Yesaia 9
1 Nanso wɔn a na wɔwɔ ahohiahia mu no renni awerɛhow bio. Kan no ɔbrɛɛ Sebulon ne Naftali nsase no ase, nanso daakye bi ɔbɛhyɛ Galilea a ɛyɛ amanamanmufo man na ne kwan da Yordan ne po ntam no anuonyam.
For there is no gloom to her who had been in anguish, In the former time, he brought into dishonour The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, In the latter time, hath he brought into honour The Lake-way over the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
2 Nnipa a wɔnam sum mu ahu Hann kɛse; wɔn a wɔte asase a so sum kabii no, hann bi apue wɔn so.
the people who were walking in darkness, Have seen a great light, —The dwellers in a land death-shadowed, A light, hath shined upon them.
3 Woatrɛw ɔman no mu woama wɔn ani agye mmoroso wodi ahurusi wɔ wʼanim sɛnea nnipa di ahurusi otwabere, sɛnea nnipa ho sɛpɛw wɔn wɔ bere a wɔrekyɛ asade no.
Thou hast increased the exultation Thou hast made great the joy, —They joy before thee, according to the joy of harvest, As men exult when they distribute spoil.
4 Te sɛ da a Midian dii nkogu no, woadwerɛw konnua a ɛda wɔn so no, abaa a ɛda wɔn mmati, wɔn nhyɛsofo pema.
For, the yoke of their burden, The cross-bar of their shoulder, The goad of their driver, Hast thou broken, as in the day of Midian.
5 Ɔkofo mpaboa a wɔhyɛ de kɔ sa ne atade biara a mogya akeka mu, wobegyaw agu hɔ na wɔahyew; ɛbɛyɛ nea ɛma ogya dɛw.
Surely, every boot of one tramping in tumult, and the war-cloak rolled in blood Then shall serve for burning, food for fire;
6 Na wɔawo akokoaa ama yɛn, wɔama yɛn ɔbabarima, na amammui no bɛda ne mmati so. Na wɔbɛfrɛ no Ɔfotufo Nwonwani, Otumfo Nyankopɔn, Daa Agya, Asomdwoe Wura.
For, A Child, hath been born to us, A Son, hath been given to us, And the dominion is upon his shoulder, —And his Name hath been called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty GOD, Father of Futurity, Prince of Prosperity.
7 Nʼamammui no nkɔso ne Nʼasomdwoe bɛtena hɔ daa. Ɔbɛtena Dawid ahengua so abu Nʼahenni, Ɔde atɛntrenee ne treneeyɛ befi ase na wama atim afi saa bere no akosi daa apem. Asafo Awurade mmɔdemmɔ bɛyɛ eyi.
Of the increase of dominion, and of prosperity, There shall be no end—Upon the throne of David and Upon his kingdom, By establishing it and By sustaining it, With justice and With righteousness, —From henceforth, Even unto times age-abiding: The jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform this!
8 Awurade ama Yakob nkra a etia no, na ɛbɛka Israel.
A word, hath My Lord, sent unto Jacob, —And it shall alight on Israel;
9 Nnipa no nyinaa behu, Efraim ne wɔn a wɔtete Samaria a wɔde ahohoahoa ne ahomaso koma kasa no,
and the people shall all of them know [it] —Ephraim and the dweller in Samaria—Who in pride and insolence of heart, are saying:
10 “Ntayaa no abubu agu fam nanso yɛde abo a wɔatwa bɛto bio. Wɔabubu borɔdɔma nnua no nanso yɛde sida besi anan mu.”
Bricks, have fallen down But with hewn stone, will we build, —Sycomores, have been felled, But with cedars, will we replace them.
11 Nanso Awurade ahyɛ Resin atamfo den atia wɔn, na ɔhyɛ wɔn atamfo no nkuran.
Therefore will Yahweh strengthen the adversaries of Resin against him, —And his enemies will he arouse:
12 Aramfo a wofi apuei fam, Filistifo a wofi atɔe fam, abue wɔn anom amene Israel. Nanso eyinom nyinaa akyi no ne bo nnwoo ɛ, na ne nsa da so wɔ soro.
Syrians before and Philistines behind, Thus have they devoured Israel with open mouth, —For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
13 Nanso nnipa no nsan nkɔɔ nea ɔtwee wɔn aso no nkyɛn, na wɔnhwehwɛɛ Asafo Awurade no akyi kwan nso.
Yet, the people, have not turned unto him that smote them, —And Yahweh of hosts, have they not sought.
14 Enti Awurade betwa eti ne dua afi Israel ho na berɛw ne demmire nso, ɔde da koro pɛ;
Therefore hath Yahweh cut off from Israel—Head and tail Palm-top and rush, In one day.
15 mpanyimfo ne akunini no ne eti no, na atoro adiyifo no ne dua no.
The elder and favourite, he, is the head, —And the prophet teaching falsehood, he, is the tail;
16 Wɔn a wɔkyerɛ nnipa yi kwan no, nkyerɛ wɔn ɔkwan pa, na wɔn a wonya akwankyerɛ no nso, fom kwan.
And they who should have led this people forward have been causing them to stray, —And, they who are led of them are destroyed,
17 Enti Awurade ani rennye mmerante no ho, na ɔrenhu ayisaa ne akunafo mmɔbɔ efisɛ, obiara nni nyamesu na wɔyɛ amumɔyɛfo, ano biara ka ahuhusɛm. Nanso eyinom nyinaa akyi no ne bo nnwoo ɛ, na ne nsa da so wɔ soro.
For this cause, over their choice young men, will My Lord not rejoice, And on their fatherless and their widows, will he not have compassion, For every one of them, is profane and an evildoer, And, every mouth is speaking baseness, —For all this, hath his anger, not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
18 Nokware, atirimɔden hye te sɛ ogya; ɛhyew nnɛnkyɛnse ne nsɔe, ɛde ogya to kwaeberentuw mu hyew no, na ɛnam wusiw kumɔnn mu foro kɔ soro.
For lawlessness, hath consumed like fire, Briars and thorns, doth it devour, —Yea it hath kindled upon the thickets of the forest, And they have rolled up as a column of smoke.
19 Ɛnam Asafo Awurade abufuw so, asase no bɛkyen na nnipa bɛyɛ mmabaa ama ogya no; na obiara remfa ne nua ho nkyɛ no.
Through the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, is the land consumed, —And the people have come to be, as fuel for fire, A man unto his own brother, sheweth not pity;
20 Nifa so, wɔbɛfom aduan adi, nanso ɔkɔm bɛde wɔn; benkum so wobedidi, nanso wɔremmee. Obiara bɛwe ne ba nam.
And he hath slain on the right, and yet is hungry, And hath eaten on the left, yet are they not satisfied, —Every one, the flesh of his own arm, will they eat:
21 Manase bɛdan Efraim na Efraim adan Manase na wɔbɛbɔ mu atia Yuda. Nanso eyinom nyinaa akyi no ne bo nnwoo ɛ, na ne nsa da so wɔ soro.
Manasseh—Ephraim, and Ephraim—Manasseh, They together—against Judah, —For all this, hath his anger not turned back, But still, is his hand outstretched.
