< Yesaia 23 >
1 Nkɔmhyɛ a ɛfa Tiro ho: Tarsis ahyɛn, muntwa adwo! Efisɛ wɔasɛe Tiro na wɔannyaw no ofi anaa hyɛngyinabea. Wufi Kipro asase so abɛka asɛm akyerɛ wɔn.
The prophecy concerning Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste; No house, no entrance is left! From the land of the Chittaeans were the tidings brought to them.
2 Monyɛ komm, mo nnipa a mowɔ supɔw no so ne mo Sidon aguadifo a po so adwumayɛfo ama mo ayɛ adefo.
Be amazed, ye inhabitants of the sea-coast, Which the merchants of Sidon, that pass over the sea, did crowd!
3 Nsu akɛse no so na aduan fi Sihor nam bae; Nil ho nnɔbae na ɛyɛɛ Tiro foto, na ɔbɛyɛɛ amanaman aguadibea.
Upon the wide waters, the corn of the Nile, The harvest of the river, was her revenue; She was the mart of the nations.
4 Animguase nka wo, Sidon, ne wo, po so abandennen, efisɛ po akasa se, “Menkyemee da, na menwoo da; mentetew mmabarima anaa mmabea da.”
Be thou ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea hath spoken, The fortress of the sea hath spoken thus: “I have not travailed, nor brought forth children; I have not nourished youths, nor brought up virgins.”
5 Sɛ asɛm no du Misraim a, wobedi yaw wɔ nkra a efi Tiro no ho.
When the tidings shall reach Egypt, They shall be filled with anguish at the tidings concerning Tyre.
6 Muntwa nkɔ Tarsis; muntwa adwo, mo a mowɔ supɔw no so.
Pass ye over to Tarshish; Howl, ye inhabitants of the sea-coast!
7 Eyi ne mo ahosɛpɛw kuropɔn no, teteete kuropɔn no, nea wɔatu akɔtena akyirikyiri nsase so no ana?
Is this your joyous city, Whose antiquity is of ancient days? Now her own feet bear her To sojourn far away.
8 Hena na ɔbɔɔ atirimpɔw yi de tiaa Tiro, nea ɔkyekyɛ ahenkyɛw, nea nʼaguadifo yɛ ahenemma, na nʼadetɔnfo agye din wɔ asase so?
Who hath purposed this against Tyre, The dispenser of crowns, Whose merchants are princes, Whose traders the nobles of the earth?
9 Asafo Awurade na ɔbɔɔ ne tirimpɔw se, ɔbɛbrɛ anuonyam mu ahomaso ase na wabrɛ wɔn a wɔagye din wɔ asase yi so nyinaa ase.
Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, To bring down the pride of all glory, To humble the nobles of the earth.
10 Yɛ wʼasase so adwuma te sɛnea wɔyɛ wɔ Nil ho no Tarsis Babea, efisɛ wunni hyɛngyinabea bio.
Go over thy land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish! Now thy bonds are broken.
11 Awurade ama ne nsa so wɔ po no so ama ahenni ahorow a ɛwɔ hɔ no repopo. Wahyɛ Kanaan ho mmara se, wɔnsɛe nʼaban.
He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, He hath made the kingdoms tremble; Jehovah hath given commandment concerning Canaan To destroy her strong holds.
12 Ɔkae se, “Wʼahurisidi no nso ha ara, Sidon Babea Ɔbabun a wɔadwerɛw wo! “Sɔre, twa kɔ Kipro; hɔ mpo worennya ahotɔ.”
He hath said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, Thou ravished virgin, daughter of Sidon! Arise, pass over to the Chittaeans; Yet even there shalt thou have no rest.
13 Monhwɛ Babiloniafo asase no saa nnipa a mprempren wɔnka hwee no! Asiriafo ayɛ no baabi a nweatam so mmoa te; wosisii wɔn anotua aban bebree, wodwiriw nʼaban gui ma ɛdan nnwiriwii.
Behold the land of the Chaldaeans, Who, not long ago, were not a people, —The Assyrian assigned it to the inhabitants of the wilderness, —They raise their watch-towers; They destroy her palaces; They make her a heap of ruins.
14 Muntwa adwo, Tarsis ahyɛn; wɔasɛe wʼaban!
Howl, ye ships of Tarshish! For your stronghold is destroyed.
15 Saa bere no wɔrenkae Tiro mfe aduɔson a ɛyɛ ɔhene nkwanna. Nanso mfe aduɔson akyi no, nea ɛbɛto Tiro no bɛyɛ sɛnea ɛwɔ oguamanfo no dwom mu no:
And it shall come to pass in that day, That Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, According to the days of one king; But at the end of seventy years It shall be with Tyre as in the song of the harlot:
16 “Ma sankuten no so, pase fa kuropɔn no mu, oguamanfo a wɔnnkae wo; bɔ sankuten no yiye, to nnwom bebree, sɛnea wɔbɛkae wo.”
“Take thy lyre, go about the city, O harlot, long forgotten; Make sweet melody; sing many songs, That thou mayst again be remembered!”
17 Mfe aduɔson akyi, Awurade ne Tiro bedi. Ɔbɛsan akodi ne paa sɛ oguamanfo na ɔne ahenni a ɛwɔ asase so nyinaa adi gua.
At the end of seventy years shall Jehovah show regard to Tyre, And she shall return to her hire, And play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world, That are upon the face of the earth.
18 Nanso nea obenya ne ne mfaso nyinaa wɔde bɛto hɔ ama Awurade; wɔremmoaboa ano na wɔremfa nsie. Ne mfaso no bɛkɔ wɔn a wɔsom wɔ Awurade anim no nkyɛn, na wɔanya aduan bebree ne ntade pa.
But her gain and her hire shall be holy to Jehovah; It shall not be treasured, nor laid up in store; But it shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, For abundant food, and for splendid clothing.
