< Galatifo 4 >
1 Asɛm a mereka ne sɛ, mpɛn dodow a ɔdedifo no yɛ abofra no, ɛwɔ mu sɛ agyapade no nyinaa hyɛ ne nsa de, nanso nsonoe biara nna ɔno ne akoa ntam.
But I say, that the heir, as long as he is a minor, differs in no respect from a servant, though he is owner of all;
2 Esiane sɛ onnyinii no nti, nnipa bi wɔ hɔ a wɔhwɛ toto nneɛma ma no kosi bere a nʼagya ahyɛ sɛ wɔnnan agyapade no mma no no.
but is under guardians and managers till the time appointed by the father.
3 Saa ara na na yɛn nso yɛte. Na yɛte sɛ mmofra a wiase ahonhom dii yɛn so.
So, also, we, when we were minors, were in bondage under the rudiments of the world.
4 Nanso bere pa no dui no, Onyankopɔn somaa ne Ba a ɔbea woo no wɔ Mmara ase
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 sɛ ommegye wɔn a wɔhyɛ Mmara ase, sɛnea wɔbɛyɛ Onyankopɔn mma.
that he might buy off those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption.
6 Esiane sɛ moyɛ mma nti, Onyankopɔn somaa ne Ba no Honhom baa yɛn koma mu, Honhom a ɛfrɛ “Agya, Agya.”
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Enti wonyɛ akoa bio, na mmom woyɛ ɔba. Esiane sɛ woyɛ ne ba nti, Onyankopɔn de nea ɔwɔ nyinaa bɛma ne mma.
So, then, you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, an heir also of God, through Christ.
8 Mmere bi a atwam no, na munnim Onyankopɔn, enti na moyɛ nkoa ma wɔn a wɔnyɛ anyame.
But, then, because you knew not God, you were enslaved to those who, by nature, are not gods:
9 Nanso afei a moahu Onyankopɔn anaasɛ Onyankopɔn ahu mo yi, adɛn nti na mopɛ sɛ modan mo ho ma nkyerɛkyerɛ a aba nni mu no? Adɛn nti na mopɛ sɛ wɔde mo yɛ nkoa bio?
now, however, after having known God, rather indeed having been known by God, how is it that you are turning back to the weak and beggarly rudiments, to which you desire again to be in bondage, as at first?
10 Mudi nna, asram, nnapɔnna ne mfe bi.
You observe days and months and times and years.
11 Misuro sɛ ɔkwan bi so, masɛe mʼahoɔden wɔ mo ho.
fear for you, lest I have bestowed labor upon you in vain.
12 Mesrɛ mo, me nuanom, monyɛ sɛ me, efisɛ meyɛɛ sɛ mo. Monyɛɛ me bɔne biara.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; because I was as you are. You have injured me in nothing.
13 Sɛnea munim no, bere a mebɛkaa Asɛmpa no kyerɛɛ mo no, mede ɔyare na ɛbae.
You know that through weakness of the flesh I preached the gospel to you at the first:
14 Ɛwɔ mu sɛ na me yare no haw mo de, nanso moampo me. Mmom, mugyee me sɛnea mubegye Onyankopɔn bɔfo; mugyee me sɛnea mubegye Kristo Yesu.
and my trial, which was in my flesh, you did not despise or loathe; but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.
15 Anigye a mowɔ no nyinaa afa he? Metumi aka se, sɛ mubetumi a anka mubetutu mo ani de ama me.
How great, then, was your blessedness! For I testify for you, that, if possible, you would have torn out your eyes, and have given them to me.
16 Nokware a meka kyerɛ mo nti na afei mabɛyɛ mo tamfo yi?
Have I then become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
17 Saa nnipa no pɛ sɛ wɔtwe mo ba wɔn nkyɛn, nanso wonni adwene pa. Wɔhwehwɛ sɛ wɔbɛtetew me ne mo ntam na ama mo ani aku wɔn ho.
They are ardently attached to you, but not honorably; indeed, they desire to exclude us, that you may be ardently attached to them.
18 Eye sɛ mobɛyɛ nsi bere biara, bere a mewɔ mo nkyɛn ne bere a minni mo nkyɛn mpo.
It is honorable to be ardently attached always, in what is honorable, and not only when I am present with you.
19 Me mma pa, mo a mo nti merehu awoyaw bio kosi sɛ Kristo bɛda ne ho adi wɔ mo mu no,
My little children, for whom I again suffer the pains of gestation, till Christ be formed in you,
20 mepɛ sɛ mewɔ mo nkyɛn, na anka masakra ɔkwan a mefa so kasa, efisɛ me tirim ntew me wɔ mo ho.
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am in doubt concerning you.
21 Monka nkyerɛ me, mo a mopɛ sɛ mohyɛ mmara no ase no, munnim nea mmara no ka no ana?
Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you not understand the law?
22 Wɔakyerɛw se, na Abraham wɔ mma baanu. Ɔne afenaa bi woo ɔbaako na ɔne ɔbea bi a ɔde ne ho nso woo ɔbaako.
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons; one by a bondmaid, and one by a free woman.
23 Wɔwoo afena ba no wɔ ɔhonam kwan so, na Onyankopɔn bɔhyɛ nti na ɔbea a ɔde ne ho no nso woo ne ba no.
But the one by the bondmaid was born according to the flesh; the other, by the free woman, was by promise.
24 Saa asɛm yi yɛ mfatoho efisɛ saa mmea baanu yi gyina hɔ ma apam abien. Apam baako fi bepɔw Sinai so, na egyina hɔ ma mma a wɔbɛyɛ nkoa: Ɔno ne Hagar.
These things are allegorized: for these women are the two covenants; the one from the Mount Sinai that brings forth for bondage, which is Hagar.
25 Hagar gyina hɔ ma bepɔw Sinai a ɛwɔ Arabia na ɛte sɛ kuropɔn Yerusalem, efisɛ ɔne ne mma wɔ nkoasom mu.
For Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in bondage with her children.
26 Nanso Yerusalem a ɛwɔ ɔsoro no de, ɛde ne ho na ɔyɛ yɛn na.
But Jerusalem which is above is free; and she is the mother of us all.
27 Efisɛ wɔakyerɛw se, “Ao ɔbea a woyɛ obonin, di ahurusi, wo a wonwoo da; ma wo nne so na teɛ mu, wo a awo nkaa wo da, efisɛ ɔbea a wannya awo da no mma dɔɔso sen nea ɔwɔ kunu.”
For it is written: Rejoice you barren, that do not bear: break forth and cry aloud, you that travail not: for many more are the children of the deserted, than of her that had the husband of the deserted.
28 Me nuanom mmea ne mmarima, bɔhyɛ no nti na wɔwoo mo sɛnea wɔwoo Isak no.
We, indeed, brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
29 Saa bere no na ɔba a wɔnam honam kwan so woo no no taa nea wɔnam Honhom no tumi mu woo no no. Na nnɛ yi nso ɛte saa.
But as then, he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, so even now.
30 Na Kyerɛwsɛm no ka dɛn? “Pam afenaa no ne ne babarima yi fi ha; efisɛ afenaa babarima no ne ɔdehye no renkyɛ agyapade no.”
But what says the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son; for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free-woman.
31 Enti anuanom, yɛnyɛ afenaa no mma, na mmom yɛyɛ ɔbea a ɔde ne ho no mma.
Therefore, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free-woman.
