< Galatifo 2 >
1 Me ne Barnaba san kɔɔ Yerusalem Mfe dunan akyi. Mede Tito nso kaa me ho.
Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.
2 Mekɔe, efisɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔdaa no adi kyerɛɛ me se menkɔ. Me ne mpanyimfo no yɛɛ nhyiamu wɔ kokoa mu kyerɛkyerɛɛ asɛmpa a meka kyerɛɛ amanamanmufo no kyerɛɛ wɔn. Na mempɛ sɛ mʼadwuma a mayɛ dedaw ne nea migu so reyɛ no yɛ ɔkwa.
I went up because of a revelation and set before them the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles. I spoke privately to those who seemed to be important, in order to make sure that I was not running—or had not run—in vain.
3 Ɛwɔ mu sɛ me boafo Tito yɛ Helani de, nanso wɔanhyɛ no sɛ ontwa twetia.
But not even Titus, who was with me and who was a Greek, was forced to be circumcised.
4 Asɛm yi sii, efisɛ na anuanom bi a wɔnyɛ nokwafo awia wɔn ho abɛfra yɛn mu a wɔrehwehwɛ ahofadi a yɛwɔ wɔ Kristo Yesu mu, na wɔde yɛn ayɛ nkoa.
The false brothers came in secretly to spy on the liberty we have in Christ Jesus. They desired to make us slaves,
5 Yɛamma wɔn mu kwan koraa, esiane pɛ a na yɛpɛ sɛ nokware a ɛwɔ Asɛmpa no mu no bɛtena mo mu no nti.
but we did not yield in submission to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
6 Sɛnea wɔn a wɔfa wɔn ho sɛ wɔyɛ atitiriw no te biara no, meka se minhu wɔn ntam nsonoe biara. Onyankopɔn nhwɛ nnipa ho mmu atɛn; saa mpanyimfo no mfaa adwene foforo biara mmɛkaa mʼasɛm no ho.
But those who seemed to be important (whatever they were does not matter to me, God shows no partiality)—those, I say, who seemed important added nothing to me.
7 Na mmom wohuu sɛ Onyankopɔn de adwuma no ahyɛ me nsa sɛ menka Asɛmpa no nkyerɛ amanamanmufo sɛnea ɔde adwuma no hyɛɛ Petro nsa sɛ ɔnka Asɛmpa no nkyerɛ Yudafo no ara pɛ.
On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel to those who are uncircumcised, just as Peter had been entrusted with the gospel to those who are circumcised.
8 Na Onyankopɔn a ɔnam Petro so yɛ adwuma sɛ Yudafo mu somafo no ara na ɔnam me so yɛ adwuma wɔ amanamanmufo mu, sɛnea Petro yɛ Yudafo mu adwuma no pɛ.
For God, who worked in Peter for the apostleship to those who are circumcised, also worked in me to the Gentiles.
9 Yakobo, Petro ne Yohane a na wɔfa no sɛ wɔyɛ mpanyimfo no gye too mu se, Onyankopɔn ama me adwuma sononko bi sɛ minni, enti wokyiaa me ne Barnaba. Wɔpenee so se yɛnyɛ adwuma wɔ amanamanmufo no mu na wɔn nso wɔnyɛ adwuma wɔ Yudafo no mu.
When James, Cephas, and John, who were recognized as those who built up the church, understood the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me. They did this so that we should go to the Gentiles, and so that they should go to those who are circumcised.
10 Nea wɔkae ara ne sɛ yɛnkae ahiafo wɔ wɔn kuw no mu sɛnea mepɛ sɛ meyɛ no.
They requested only that we remember the poor, the very thing that I was eager to do.
11 Bere a Petro baa Antiokia no, mesɔre tiaa nea ɔreyɛ no mu wɔ bagua mu, efisɛ na ɔreyɛ mfomso.
But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face because he was declared to be in the wrong.
12 Ansa na mmarima bi a Yakobo somaa wɔn no beduu hɔ no, na Petro ne anuanom amanamanmufo no to nsa didi. Nanso akyiri a nnipa no bedui no, ɔtwee ne ho a ɔne wɔn annidi bio, efisɛ na osuro wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wotwa amanamanmufo twetia no.
Before certain men came from James, Cephas was eating with the Gentiles. But when these men came, he stopped and kept away from the Gentiles. He was afraid of those who were demanding circumcision.
13 Anuanom Yudafo a wɔaka no yɛɛ sɛ ahufo de wɔn ho bɔɔ Petro maa Barnaba nso de ne ho kɔbataa wɔn.
Also the rest of the Jews joined in this hypocrisy. Even Barnabas was led astray with them by their hypocrisy.
14 Mihuu sɛ nea wɔreyɛ no ne Asɛmpa no bɔ abira no, mekaa wɔ Petro ne bagua no anim se, “Woyɛ Yudani a mprempren wunni Yudafo amanne so bio. Adɛn nti na wohyɛ amanamanmufo sɛ wonni Yudafo amanne so?
But when I saw that their behavior was not following the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of all of them, “If you are a Jew but are living like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”
15 “Yɛn a yɛyɛ Yudafo fi yɛn awo mu a yɛnyɛ amanamanmufo nnebɔneyɛfo no
We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;
16 nim sɛ ansa na obi bedi bem wɔ Onyankopɔn anim no, na gye sɛ wagye Yesu Kristo adi a ɛnyɛ sɛ ɔbɛyɛ nea mmara no hwehwɛ sɛ ɔnyɛ no. Yɛn nso, yɛagye Kristo Yesu adi sɛnea yɛnam so bedi bem wɔ Onyankopɔn anim; efisɛ ɛnam gyidi so na wobebu yɛn bem, na ɛnyɛ mmara no apɛde a yɛyɛ no so.
yet we know that no person is justified by the works of the law but through faith in Christ Jesus. We also came to faith in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh will be justified.
17 “Sɛ yɛpɛ sɛ wobu yɛn bem wɔ Kristo mu na sɛ ɛda adi sɛ yɛn nso yɛyɛ nnebɔneyɛfo a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ Kristo pene bɔne so? Ɛnte saa koraa.
But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we too, were found to be sinners, does Christ then promote sin? Absolutely not!
18 Na sɛ mifi ase yɛ nea magyae a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ meyɛ mmaratofo.
For if I rebuild those things I once destroyed, I prove myself to be a lawbreaker.
19 “Efisɛ mpɛn dodow a mepɛɛ sɛ medi mmara no so no, mmara no buu me fɔ. Mmara no ankasa akum me. Ɛno nti minni mmara no tumi ase bio, sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a mɛtena ase ama Onyankopɔn mmom. Wɔabɔ me ne Kristo asennua mu,
For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live for God.
20 enti ɛnyɛ me na mete ase bio, na mmom Kristo no na ɔte me mu. Saa asetena a mete mu mprempren yi, mete ase wɔ Onyankopɔn Ba no a ɔdɔ me na ɔde ne nkwa maa me no gyidi mu.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
21 Mempo Onyankopɔn adom no. Sɛ onipa nam Mmara so fata Onyankopɔn anim a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ Kristo wu a owui no yɛ ɔkwa.”
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, then Christ died for nothing!
