< Hesekiel 23 >

1 Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 “Onipa ba, mmea baanu a wɔyɛ ɔbea baako mma tenaa ase.
Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother:
3 Wɔbɛyɛɛ aguamammɔfo wɔ Misraim, na wɔbɔɔ aguaman fii wɔn mmabaabere mu. Womiamiaa wɔn nufu, wɔberee wɔn mmabaabere mpokua wɔ asase no so.
and they went a-whoring in Egypt in their youth: there their breasts fell, there they lost their virginity.
4 Ɔpanyin no din de Ohola na ne nuabea no nso din de Oholiba. Na wɔyɛ me yerenom na wɔwowoo mmabarima ne mmabea. Ohola ne Samaria na Oholiba nso ne Yerusalem.
And their names were Oola the elder, and Ooliba her sister: and they were mine, and bore sons and daughters: and [as for] their names, Samaria was Oola, and Jerusalem was Ooliba.
5 “Ohola da so ware me no, ɔbɔɔ aguaman; nʼani tu dii nʼapɛfo akyi, Asiriafo, akofo no
And Oola went a-whoring from me, and doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians that were her neighbors,
6 a wɔhyehyɛ ntade bibiri, amradofo ne asahene a wɔn nyinaa yɛ mmerante a wɔn ho yɛ fɛ na wɔtena apɔnkɔ so.
clothed with purple, princes and captains; [they were] young men and choice, all horseman riding on horses.
7 Ɔne Asiriafo atitiriw bɔɔ aguaman, na ɔsom wɔn a ɔdɔɔ wɔn nyinaa ahoni de guu ne ho fi.
And she bestowed her fornication upon them; all were choice sons of the Assyrians: and on whomsoever she doted herself, with them she defiled herself in all [their] devices.
8 Wannyae nʼaguamammɔ a ofii ase wɔ Misraim no, bere a ɔyɛ ababaa na mmarima ne no dae, susoo ne mpokua mu na wohwiee wɔn akɔnnɔ guu ne so no.
And she forsook not her fornication with the Egyptians: for in her youth they committed fornication with her, and they deflowered her, and poured out their fornication upon her.
9 “Ɛno nti mede no maa nʼadɔfo Asiriafo no a nʼani bere wɔn no.
Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the children of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.
10 Wɔbɔɔ no adagyaw, faa ne mmabarima ne ne mmabea kɔe, na wɔde afoa kum no. Ogyee ne din wɔ mmea mu na asotwe baa ne so.
They uncovered her shame: they took her sons and daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became a byword among women: and they wrought vengeance in her for the sake of the daughters.
11 “Ne nuabea Oholiba huu eyi nanso nʼakɔnnɔ bɔne ne nʼaguaman sen ne nuabea no de.
And her sister Ooliba saw [it], and she indulged in her fondness more corruptly than she, and in her fornication more than the fornication of her sister.
12 Ɔno nso dii Asiriafo no akyi; amradofo ne asahene, akofo a wɔhyehyɛ wɔn ntade, apɔnkɔsotefo a wɔn nyinaa yɛ mmerante ahoɔfɛfo.
She doted upon the sons of the Assyrian, princes and captains, her neighbours, clothed with fine linen, horsemen riding on horses; [they were] all choice young men.
13 Mihuu sɛ ɔno nso guu ne ho fi, wɔn baanu faa ɔkwan koro so.
And I saw that they were defiled, [that] the two [had] one way.
14 “Na ɔtoaa nʼaguamammɔ no so kɔɔ akyiri. Ohuu mmarima mfoni a wɔakurukyerɛw agu ɔfasu bi ho, Kaldeafo mfoni a wɔde adukɔkɔɔ akrukyerɛw
And she increased her fornication, and she saw men painted on the wall, likenesses of the Chaldeans painted with a pencil,
15 a abɔso bobɔ wɔn asen mu na abotiri bobɔ wɔn ti a wɔn nyinaa te sɛ Babilonia nteaseɛnam mu mpanyimfo a wofi Kaldea.
having variegated girdles on their loins, having also richly dyed [attire] upon their heads; all had a princely appearance, the likeness of the children of the Chaldeans, of their native land.
16 Ohuu saa mfoni yi, ne kɔn dɔɔ wɔn na ɔsomaa abɔfo kɔɔ wɔn nkyɛn wɔ Kaldea.
And she doted upon them as soon as she saw them, and sent forth messengers to them into the land of the Chaldeans.
17 Na Babiloniafo no baa ne nkyɛn ne no bɛdaa ɔdɔ mpa so, na wɔn akɔnnɔ mu no, woguu ne ho fi. Woguu ne ho fi wiee no wɔn ho fonoo no enti ogyaa wɔn.
And the sons of Babylon came to her, into the bed of rest, and they defiled her in her fornication, and she was defiled by them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18 Ɔkɔɔ so wɔ nʼaguamammɔ mu, bɔɔ ne ho adagyaw no, migyaw no hɔ sɛnea migyaw ne nuabea no hɔ pɛpɛɛpɛ.
And she exposed her fornication, and exposed her shame: and my soul was alienated from her, even as my soul was alienated from her sister.
19 Na ɔmaa nʼaguamammɔ no kɔɔ so ara de kaee ne mmabaabere a na ɔbɔ aguaman wɔ Misraim no.
And thou didst multiply thy fornication, so as to call to remembrance the days of thy youth, wherein thou didst commit whoredom in Egypt,
20 Ɛhɔ na ɔne nʼadɔfo a wɔn barima te sɛ mfurum de na wɔn ho nsu te sɛ apɔnkɔ de no bɔɔ aguaman.
and thou didst dote upon the Chaldeans, whose flesh is as the flesh of the asses, and their members [as] the members of horses.
21 Na wo kɔn dɔɔ wo mmabun mu akɔnnɔ bɔne no, nea woyɛɛ wɔ Misraim a wɔsrasraa wo koko mu na womiamiaa wo mpokua no.
And thou didst look upon the iniquity of thy youth, [the things] which thou wroughtest in Egypt in thy lodgings, where were the breasts of thy youth.
22 “Ɛno nti, Oholiba, sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Mɛhwanyan wʼadɔfo atia wo, wɔn a wɔn ho fonoo wo ma wugyaw wɔn hɔ no; mede wɔn befi afanan nyinaa abetia wo.
Therefore, Ooliba, thus saith the Lord; Behold, I [will] stir up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy soul is alienated, and I will bring them upon thee round about,
23 Babiloniafo ne Kaldeafo nyinaa, Pekod, Soa ne Koa mmarima, Asiriafo no ne wɔn bɛba, mmerante ahoɔfɛfo a wɔn nyinaa yɛ amradofo, asahene, nteaseɛnam ho adwumayɛfo ne mmarima a wokura dibea akɛse a wɔn nyinaa tete apɔnkɔ so.
the children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, Phacuc, and Sue, and Hychue, and all the sons of the Assyrians with them; choice young men, governors and captains, all princes and renowned, riding on horses.
24 Wɔde akode, nteaseɛnam ahorow ne nnipadɔm bɛba abetia wo; wɔde akokyɛm akɛse ne nketewa ne dade kyɛw bɛka wo ahyɛ. Mede wo bɛhyɛ wɔn nsa, na wɔagyina wɔn nhyehyɛe so atwe wo aso.
And they all shall come upon thee from the north, chariots and wheels, with a multitude of nations, shields and targets; and [the enemy] shall set a watch against thee round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall take vengeance on thee with their judgments.
25 Mɛdan me ninkunu abufuw no akyerɛ wo so, na wɔne wo bedi no anibere so. Wobetwitwa mo hwene ne mo aso, na wɔn a wɔbɛka no, wɔbɛtotɔ wɔ afoa ano. Wɔbɛfa mo mmabarima ne mo mmabea akɔ, na mo a moaka no wɔde ogya ahyew mo.
And I will bring upon thee my jealousy, and they shall deal with thee in great wrath: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and shall cast down thy remnant with the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy remnant fire shall devour.
26 Wɔbɛpa wo ho ntama nso na wɔafa wo nnwinne.
And they shall strip thee of thy raiment, and take [away] thine ornaments.
27 Ɛno nti mɛma wʼakɔnnɔ bɔne ne aguamammɔ a wufii ase wɔ Misraim no aba nʼawie. Wo kɔn rennɔ saa nneɛma yi, na worenkae Misraim bio.
So I will turn back thine ungodliness from thee, and thy fornication from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt not lift up thine eyes upon them, and shalt no more remember Egypt.
28 “Na sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Mede wo rebɛhyɛ wʼatamfo nsa, wɔn a wɔn ho fonoo wo ma wugyaw wɔn no.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I [will] deliver thee into the hands of those whom thou hatest, from whom thy soul is alienated.
29 Wɔde ɔtan ne wo bedi, na wɔafa nea woayɛ adwuma apɛ nyinaa. Wobegyaw wo adagyaw ne kwaterekwa, na wʼaguamammɔ ho aniwu no bɛda adi. Wʼaniwude ne wʼaguamansɛm no
And they shall deal with thee in hatred, and shall take all [the fruits] of thy labours and thy toils, and thou shalt be naked and bare: and the shame of thy fornication shall be exposed: and thy ungodliness and thy fornication
30 na ɛde eyinom aba wo so, efisɛ wo kɔn dɔɔ amanaman no na wode wɔn ahoni guu wo ho fi.
brought this upon thee, in that thou wentest a-whoring after the nations, and didst defile thyself with their devices.
31 Woayɛ nea wo nuabea yɛɛ no bi; na ɛno nti mede ne kuruwa bɛhyɛ wo nsa.
Thou didst walk in the way of thy sister; and I will put her cup into thine hands.
32 “Sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: “Wobɛnom wo nuabea kuruwa ano, kuruwa a ɛso na mu dɔ; ɛde fɛwdi ne ahohora bɛba, efisɛ nea ɛwɔ mu dɔɔso.
Thus saith the Lord; Drink thy sister's cup, deep and large, and full, to cause complete drunkenness.
33 Nsabow ne awerɛhow bɛhyɛ wo ma, ɔsɛe ne asaworamto kuruwa no, wo nuabea Samaria kuruwa no bɛhyɛ wo ma.
And thou shalt be thoroughly weakened; and the cup of destruction, the cup of thy sister Samaria,
34 Wobɛnom a hwee renka mu: na woawe nʼasinasin no na woasunsuan wo mpokua mu. Me na maka, Otumfo Awurade asɛm ni.
drink thou it, and I will take away her feasts and her new moons: for I have spoken [it], saith the Lord.
35 “Ɛno nti sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Esiane sɛ wo werɛ afi me, na woatow me akyene wʼakyi nti, ɛsɛ sɛ wunya wʼaniwude ne wʼaguamammɔ so akatua.”
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Because thou has forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore receive thou [the reward] of thine ungodliness and thy fornication.
36 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ me se, “Onipa ba, wubebu Ohola ne Oholiba atɛn ana? Ɛno de, fa wɔn akyiwadeyɛ no si wɔn anim,
And the Lord said to me, Son of man, wilt thou not judge Oola and Ooliba? and declare to them their iniquities?
37 efisɛ wɔasɛe aware, na mogya wɔ wɔn nsa ho. Wɔde wɔn ahoni na ɛsɛee aware no; na mpo wɔde wɔn mma a wɔwoo wɔn maa me no bɔɔ afɔre maa wɔn sɛ wɔn aduan.
For they have committed adultery, and blood was in their hands, they committed adultery with their devices, and they passed through the fire to them their children which they bore to me.
38 Wɔde eyi nso ayɛ me: Saa bere koro no ara mu, woguu me kronkronbea ne me homenna ho fi.
So long too as they did these things to me, they defiled my sanctuary, and profaned my sabbaths.
39 Da a wɔde wɔn mma bɔɔ afɔre maa wɔn ahoni no ara, wɔhyɛn me kronkronbea hɔ koguu ho fi. Eyi na wɔyɛɛ wɔ me fi.
And when they sacrificed their children to their idols, they also went into my sanctuary to profane it: and whereas they did thus in the midst of my house;
40 “Wɔsomaa abɔfo kɔfrɛɛ mmarima a wofi akyirikyiri bae, na wobedui no, muguare, kekaa mo ani akyi, de mo adwinne hyehyɛɛ mo ho maa wɔn.
and whereas they did thus to the men that came from afar, to whom they sent messengers, and as soon as they came, immediately thou didst wash thyself, and didst paint thine eyes and adorn thyself with ornaments,
41 Motenaa akongua papa bi a wɔde ɔpon a wɔasɛw so asi anim, ɛso na mode nnuhuam ne ngo a anka ɛyɛ me de no sisii.
and satest on a prepared bed, and before it [there was] a table set out, and [as for] mine incense and mine oil, they rejoiced in them,
42 “Na hooyɛ a efi nnipakuw bi a hwee mfa wɔn ho atwa ne ho ahyia. Wɔde Sabeafo fi sare no so ne mmarima a wofi dɔm no mu bae, na wɔde nkapo hyehyɛɛ ɔbea no ne ne nua no nsa, na wɔhyɛɛ wɔn ahenkyɛw a ɛyɛ fɛ.
and they raised a sound of music, and [that] with men coming from the wilderness out of a multitude of men, and they put bracelets on their hands, and a crown of glory on their heads;
43 Na meka faa nea aguamammɔ ama watetew no ho se, ‘Momma wɔnnyɛ no sɛ oguamanfo, efisɛ saa ara pɛ na ɔte.’
Therefore I said, Do they not commit adultery with these? and has she also gone a-whoring [after] the manner of a harlot?
44 Na wɔne no dae. Sɛnea mmarima ne oguamanfo da no, saa ara na wɔne saa mmea a wɔn ho yɛ aniwu no, Ohola ne Oholiba dae.
And they went in to her, as [men] go in to a harlot; so they went in to Oola and to Ooliba to work iniquity.
45 Nanso atemmufo atreneefo de asotwe a wɔde ma mmea a wɔsɛe aware na wɔka mogya gu no bɛma wɔn, efisɛ wɔyɛ nguamanfo na wɔn nsa ho wɔ mogya.
And they are just men, and shall take vengeance on them with the judgment of an adulteress and the judgment of blood: for they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46 “Sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Fa nnipadɔm bra betia wɔn na ma ahunahuna ne ɔfom mmra wɔn so.
Thus saith the Lord God, Bring up a multitude upon them, and send trouble and plunder into the midst of them.
47 Nnipakuw no besiw wɔn abo na wɔde wɔn afoa bɛtow ahyɛ wɔn so. Wobekunkum wɔn mmabarima ne wɔn mmabea na wɔahyew wɔn afi.
And stone them with the stones of a multitude, and pierce them with their swords: they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and shall burn up their houses.
48 “Ɛno nti mɛma aniwu nneyɛe aba awiei wɔ asase no so na abɔ mmaa nyinaa kɔkɔ na wɔansua mo.
And I will remove ungodliness out of the land, and all the women shall be instructed, and shall not do according to their ungodliness.
49 Wubenya wʼaniwude so asotwe na woanya abosonsom ho bɔne so akatua. Afei wubehu sɛ mene Otumfo Awurade no.”
And your ungodliness shall be recompensed upon you, and ye shall bear the guilt of your devices: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
