< 2 Mose 16 >
1 Afei, wotu fii Elim baa Sin sare a ɛda Elim ne Bepɔw Sinai ntam no so. Wotu fii Misraim no, ɔsram a ɛto so abien no nnaawɔtwe abien so na woduu hɔ.
Then moved they on from Elim, and all the assembly of the sons of Israel entered into the desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month, by their coming forth out of the land of Egypt.
2 Woduu hɔ no nso, nnipa no kasa tiaa Mose ne Aaron se,
Then did all the assembly of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the desert;
3 “Sɛ yɛwɔ Misraim na anka Awurade rekunkum yɛn wɔ hɔ a, anka yɛpɛ. Na yenya nnuan bebree di wɔ hɔ. Nanso mode yɛn abegu sare so ha ama ɔkɔm rekum yɛn.”
and the sons of Israel said unto them—Oh that we had died by the hand of Yahweh, in the land of Egypt, when we remained by the pot of flesh, when we did eat bread to the full, —for ye have brought us forth into this desert, to cause all this multitude to die by famine.
4 Na Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se, “Merebɛtɔ aduan afi ɔsoro abegu asase so ama wɔn. Obiara betumi akɔboaboa dodow biara a ɔpɛ ano ama nea obedi no da koro. Mede eyi bɛsɔ wɔn ahwɛ sɛ wobedi mʼahyɛde so anaasɛ wɔrenni so.
Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Behold me! raining down for you bread out of heaven, —and the people shall go out and gather the portion for a day, on its day, that I may prove them whether they will walk in my law, or not.
5 Ka kyerɛ wɔn na nnaawɔtwe biara mu da a ɛto so asia no, wɔmmoaboa aduan no ano sɛnea daa wɔboaboa no no, mmɔho abien.”
And it shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall settle what they shall bring in, —and it shall be twice as much as they gather day by day.
6 Enti Mose ne Aaron frɛɛ Israelfo no nyinaa ne wɔn hyia ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Anwummere yi, mubehu sɛ Awurade na oyii mo fii Misraim asase so.
So Moses and Aaron said unto all the sons of Israel, —At eventide, then shall ye know that it was, Yahweh, who brought you forth, out of the land of Egypt;
7 Sɛ edu anɔpa a, mubehu nʼanuonyam bebree; efisɛ wate sɛnea munwiinwii tia no no. Na yɛn ne hena a munwiinwii tia yɛn?
and, in the morning, then shall ye see the glory of Yahweh, in that he hath heard your murmurings against Yahweh, —what then are, we, that ye should murmur against, us?
8 Anwummere yi, Awurade bɛma mo nam awe, na wama mo aduan anɔpa, efisɛ wate mo anwiinwii a etia no no. Moannwiinwii antia yɛn, na munwiinwii tiaa Awurade.”
And Moses said—In that Yahweh giveth you in the evening flesh to eat, and bread in the morning, to the full, in that Yahweh heareth your murmurings wherewith ye are murmuring against him, what then are, we? Not against us, do ye murmur but against Yahweh.
9 Na Mose ka kyerɛɛ Aaron se, “Ka kyerɛ Israelfo no nyinaa sɛ wɔmmra Awurade anim na wommetie wɔn anwiinwii no ho mmuae.”
And Moses said unto Aaron, Say unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel, Draw near, before Yahweh, —for he hath heard your murmurings.
10 Enti Aaron frɛɛ wɔn boaa ano, na prɛko pɛ, wɔmaa wɔn ani so kyerɛɛ baabi a omununkum a ɛrekyerɛ wɔn kwan no wɔ no, Awurade fii mu daa nʼanuonyam kɛse no adi.
And it came to pass, when Aaron spake unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel, then turned they towards the desert, —and lo! the glory of Yahweh, had appeared in the cloud,
11 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Mose se,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses—saying,
12 “Mate wɔn anwiinwii no, ka kyerɛ wɔn se, ‘Anwummere, mubenya nam awe na anɔpa nso mubenya aduan pii adi na mubehu sɛ mene Awurade, mo Nyankopɔn, no.’”
I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel, —speak unto them, saying—Between the two evenings, shall ye eat flesh, and in the morning, shall ye be filled with bread, —so shall ye know that I Yahweh am your God.
13 Anwummere no, nnomaa pii bebuu so wɔ wɔn atenae hɔ na anɔpa no, obosu tɔ guu sare no so maa ɛyɛɛ fɔkyee.
And it came to pass, in the evening, that there came up quail, and covered the camp, —and in the morning was the outpouring of dew, round about the camp;
14 Obosu no yowee no, nsinsenii nketenkete bi a ɛte sɛ sukyerɛmma beguu asase no so.
and when the outpouring of dew went up, then lo! on the face of the desert, a thin flake, thin as hoar-frost on the earth,
15 Israelfo no hui no, wobisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho se, “Dɛn ni?” Na Mose buaa wɔn se, “Ɛyɛ aduan a Awurade de ama mo sɛ munni no.
And when the sons of Israel saw it they said one to another—What is that? For they knew not what "that" was. Then said Moses unto them, "That" is the bread which Yahweh hath given you to eat.
16 Awurade aka se, ‘Obiara mmoaboa dodow biara a ɛbɛso ɔne ne fifo di no ano.’”
This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, Gather ye thereof, each man what he needeth for eating, —an omer a head, by the number of your souls, each man—for them who are in his tent, shall ye take.
17 Enti Israelfo no fii adi kɔboaboaa aduan no bi ano. Ebinom faa pii na bi nso faa kakraa bi.
And the sons of Israel did so, —and gathered, [some] more, and [some] less;
18 Wohwiee nea wɔaboaboa ano no nyinaa guu susukoraa mu no, na ɛdɔɔso sɛ obiara benya bi. Wɔn a wonyaa pii no, ebi anka, na wɔn a wonyaa kakraa bi no nso, ɛsoo wɔn. Ofi biara nyaa ne so ne ne de.
and when they measured it with the omer, he who had gathered more had nothing over, and he who had gathered less had no lack: each man what he needed for eating, did they gather.
19 Mose ka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Mommma ade nkye so.”
And Moses said unto them, —Let, no man leave thereof, until morning.
20 Nanso ebinom yɛɛ asoɔden maa ade kyee so. Ade kyee so no, na adɔ nsaammoa ma ɛbɔn enti Mose bo fuw wɔn yiye.
But they hearkened not unto Moses, but certain men left thereof until morning, and it swarmed with worms and become loathsome, —and Moses was wroth with them.
21 Afei na wɔkɔtase aduan no anɔpa anɔpa, na wɔtase dodow biara a, ɛso ofi biara. Na awia bɔɔ denneennen guu so no, aduan no nyinaa nanee.
Thus then they gathered it morning by morning, each man what he needed for eating, and as soon as the sun waxed hot, so soon it melted.
22 Da a ɛto so asia no, wɔtasee sɛnea wɔtase no daa no mmɔho abien. Wɔtasee susukoraa asia, nanso daa na wɔtase susukoraa abiɛsa. Mpanyimfo a wotuatua nnipa no ano no bebisaa Mose nea nti a aba saa.
And it came to pass on the sixth day, that they gathered food twice as much, two omers for each one, —so all the princes of the assembly came in, and told Moses.
23 Mose buaa wɔn se, “Efisɛ Awurade aka ato hɔ se, ‘Ɔkyena yɛ homeda. Ɛyɛ homeda kronkron ma Awurade a ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛyɛ yɛn nnwuma biara. Enti monnoa dodow biara a mopɛ nnɛ, na nea ɛbɛka no, munnyaw mma ade nkye so.’”
And he said unto them—That is what Yahweh spake. The observance of a holy sabbath to Yahweh, is to-morrow, —what ye would bake, bake and what ye would boil, boil, and all that is left over, put by you to keep until the morning.
24 Na ade kyee so no, na nsaammoa biara nni mu na ɛmmɔn nso.
So they put it by until the morning, as Moses had commanded, —and it gave no unpleasant odour, neither was there a worm, therein.
25 Mose kae se, “Nnɛ, mo aduan ni, efisɛ nnɛ yɛ Awurade homeda enti aduan biara rentɔ ngu asase so.
Then said Moses—Eat ye it to-day, for a sabbath, is to-day, unto Yahweh, —to-day, ye shall not find it in the field.
26 Momfa nnansia mmoaboa aduan ano, efisɛ da a ɛto so ason no yɛ homeda enti morennya aduan biara saa da no.”
Six days, shall ye gather it, —but on the seventh day, a sabbath, it shall not be therein.
27 Homeda no, nnipa no bi fii adi sɛ wɔrekɔpɛ aduan no bi, nanso na ebi nni hɔ.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that there went forth some of the people to gather, —but they found not.
28 Awurade bisaa Mose se, “Saa nnipa yi bɛyɛ asoɔden akosi da bɛn?
Then said Yahweh unto Moses, —How long have ye refused to keep my commandments and my laws?
29 Wonhu sɛ nnansia so no, memaa wɔn mmɔho abien sɛnea ɛbɛso wɔn nnaanu? Awurade se momfa da a ɛto so ason no sɛ homeda; montena mo ntamadan mu. Mummfi adi nkɔtase aduan mfi asase so.”
See because Yahweh hath given you the sabbath, for this cause, is, he, giving you on the sixth day, food for two days, —abide ye every man in his place, let no man go forth from his dwelling, on the seventh day,
30 Enti da a ɛto so ason no, nnipa no homee.
So the people rested on the seventh day.
31 Israelfo no too aduan no din se Mana, ase ne “Ɛyɛ dɛn?” Ɛyɛ fitaa sɛ wusa aba na ɛyɛ dɛ te sɛ tetare a ɛwo wɔ mu.
And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna, —and the same, was like coriander seed white, and the taste thereof, like flat-cake with honey,
32 Mose kaa asɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ ɔnka nkyerɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmfa aduan no susukoraa abiɛsa na wɔmfa nkosie wɔn adekorabea afebɔɔ sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a, nkyirimma behu aduan a Awurade de maa wɔn dii wɔ sare so bere a oyii wɔn fii Misraim no.
And Moses said—This, is the thing which Yahweh hath commanded, Fill an omer therefrom as a thing to be preserved to your generations, —that they may see the bread wherewith I fed you in the desert, when I brought you forth out of the land of Egypt.
33 Mose ka kyerɛɛ Aaron se ɔmfa kuruwa na ɔmfa mana lita abiɛsa ngu mu na ɔmfa nsie kronkronbea bi mma nkyirimma.
So Moses said unto Aaron—Take a single basket, and put therein an omer-full of manna, —and set it down before Yahweh, as a thing to be preserved to your generations.
34 Aaron yɛɛ sɛnea Awurade kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ ɔnyɛ no na ɔnkora no wɔ Apam Adaka no mu wɔ kronkronbea hɔ.
As Yahweh gave command unto Moses, so did Aaron set it down before the testimony, as a thing to be preserved,
35 Enti Israelfo dii mana yi mfe aduanan kosii sɛ woduu Kanaan asase so a ɛhɔ de, na afumduan wɔ no.
And, the sons of Israel did eat the manna forty years, until they entered into the land wherein they were to dwell, —the manna, they did eat until they entered into the bounds of the land of Canaan.
36 Lita abiɛsa yɛ omer baako.
Now, an omer, is, the tenth of the ephah.
