< Efesofo 5 >
1 Esiane sɛ moyɛ Onyankopɔn mma a ɔdɔ wɔn no nti, munsuasua no
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 na motena ase ɔdɔ mu sɛnea Kristo dɔɔ yɛn, na ɔde ne nkwa too hɔ maa yɛn sɛ afɔrebɔde a ɛyɛ huam ma Onyankopɔn no.
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 Nanso ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔte aguamammɔ anaa afide anaa anibere ho asɛm wɔ mo mu, efisɛ eyinom mfata Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo kronkron.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Saa ara nso na ɛmfata sɛ moka kasa fi, ahuhusɛm anaa sɛ muyi aseresɛm, mmom monna ase.
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 Munnya ntease sɛ, obiara a ɔbɔ aguaman na ɔyɛ afide, na ɔyɛ oniberefo (anibere yɛ abosonsom) no rennya kyɛfa biara wɔ Kristo ne Onyankopɔn Ahenni no mu bi.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Mommma obiara mmfa nsɛm a aba nni mu nnaadaa mo. Efisɛ saa nneɛma no na ɛma Onyankopɔn bo fuw wɔn a wɔyɛ asoɔden no.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Enti mo ne saa nnipa no nyɛ biribiara.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 Bere bi, na moyɛ sum, nanso mprempren de, moyɛ hann wɔ Awurade mu. Ne saa nti montena ase sɛ hann mma.
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 Efisɛ hann no ma moyɛ papa, atreneefo ne nokwafo,
(For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )
10 na ɛhwehwɛ nea ɛsɔ Awurade ani.
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 Montwe mo ho mfi nneɛma hunu a wɔyɛ wɔ sum mu ho, na mompa ho ntama.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
12 Ɛyɛ aniwu sɛ wɔbɔ nneɛma a asoɔdenfo yɛ no wɔ sum mu no so.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 Nanso sɛ hann no tɔ wɔn so a, yebehu nnebɔne biara a wɔyɛ.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Efisɛ hann da biribiara adi. Enti na wɔaka se, “Nyan, wo a woada, na sɔre fi awufo mu, na Kristo bɛhyerɛn wɔ wo so.”
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 Enti monhwɛ mo akwan yiye, ɛnyɛ sɛ wɔn a wonnim nyansa, na mmom sɛ wɔn a wonim nyansa.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Monyɛ mo akwannya biara so ade, efisɛ, nna yi yɛ nna bɔne.
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Monnyɛ adwene mu harefo, na mmom monte Awurade apɛde ase.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].
18 Monnnom nsa mmmow na amfa mo ankɔ ahohwibɔ mu. Na mmom momma Honhom no nhyɛ mo ma.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Momfa nnwom, ayeyi nnwom ne honhom mu nnwom nkasa nkyerɛ mo ho mo ho. Monto dwom mma Awurade na monkamfo no wɔ koma mu,
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 na monna Agya Onyankopɔn ase bere biara wɔ biribiara ho wɔ yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo din mu.
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Mumfi nidi a mowɔ ma Kristo mu no mmrɛ mo ho ase mma mo ho mo ho.
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Ɔyerenom, mommrɛ mo ho ase mma mo kununom sɛnea mobrɛ mo ho ase ma Awurade no,
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 efisɛ okunu yɛ ɔyere no ti sɛnea Kristo yɛ asafo no ti ne ne Gyefo no. Asafo no yɛ Kristo nipadua.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Sɛnea asafo no brɛ ne ho ase ma Kristo no, saa ara na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyerenom brɛ wɔn ho ase wɔ biribiara mu ma wɔn kununom.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Okununom, monnodɔ mo yerenom sɛnea Kristo dɔɔ asafo no na ɔde ne kra too hɔ maa no,
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 na ɔnam asɛm no so de nsu guaree no yɛɛ no kronkron,
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 de maa ne ho sɛ asafo a ɛhyerɛn, a enni nkekae anaasɛ mpomponoe anaasɛ dɛm biara, na mmom ɛyɛ kronkron a enni sintɔ.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 Saa ara na ɛsɛ sɛ mmarima dɔ wɔn yerenom sɛnea wɔdɔ wɔn nipadua no. Ɔbarima a ɔdɔ ne yere no dɔ nʼankasa ne ho.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 Obiara ntan ne ho. Mmom ɔma no aduan hwɛ no yiye sɛnea Kristo yɛ asafo no,
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 na yɛn nso yɛyɛ ne nipadua no ho akwaa.
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 “Eyi nti, ɔbarima begyaw nʼagya ne ne na, na ɔde ne ho akɔbɔ ne yere na wɔn baanu no nyinaa abɛyɛ ɔhonam baako.”
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 Eyi yɛ ahintasɛm a mu dɔ, nanso mereka Kristo ne asafo no ho asɛm.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Enti ɛsɛ sɛ okunu biara dɔ ne yere sɛ nʼankasa ne ho, na ɔyere biara nso de nidi ma ne kunu.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband.
