< Daniel 6 >

1 Ɛsɔɔ Ɔhene Dario ani sɛ ɔbɛpa ahenemma ɔha ne aduonu de wɔn atuatua amantam a ɛwɔ ahemman no mu no ano.
It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, who should be throughout the whole kingdom,
2 Ɔhene no san yii Daniel ne afoforo baanu bi sɛ mpanyimfo a wɔhwɛ ahenemma no so, sɛnea wɔbɛtoto nneɛma yiye, na ɔhene no ammɔ ka.
and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one, that these satraps might give account to them, and that the king should have no damage.
3 Na Daniel daa ne ho adi sɛ onim de wɔ mpanyimfo ne ahenemma no mu, ɛno nti, Ɔhene yɛɛ nhyehyɛe sɛ, ɔde no besi ɔman no nyinaa so panyin.
Then this Daniel was distinguished above the presidents and the satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him, and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
4 Ɛyɛɛ saa maa mpanyimfo no ne ahenemma no hwehwɛɛ sɛ wobenya Daniel ho asɛm wɔ nʼamammui no fam, nanso wɔannya nʼadwumayɛ no ho mfomso biara, efisɛ ɔyɛ ɔnokwafo.
Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no occasion nor fault, inasmuch as he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him.
5 Na mmarima no kae se, “Yɛrennya Daniel yi ho asɛmmɔne biara gye sɛ yehu biribi a ɛfa ne nyamesom ho de sum no afiri.”
Then these men said, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
6 Enti mpanyimfo no ne ahenemma no kɔɔ Ɔhene Dario no nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Nana wo nkwa so!
Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king, and said thus to him: King Darius, live forever.
7 Yɛn mpanyimfo, ahenemma, afotufo ne mpanyimfo a aka no nyinaa apene so sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ Nana hyɛ mmara sɛ, adaduasa a edi anim yi, obiara nni ho kwan sɛ ɔbɛbɔ mpae akyerɛ onyame bi anaa onipa bi a ɛnyɛ wo Nana no, wɔde no bɛto gyata amoa mu.
All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong interdict, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
8 Ɛno nti, Nana, kyerɛw na fa wo nsa hyɛ saa mmara yi ase, sɛnea Mediafo ne Persiafo mmara a wontumi nsesa no no te.”
Now, O king, establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.
9 Ɛno nti, ɔhene Dario kyerɛw mmara no.
Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the interdict.
10 Na Daniel tee sɛ wɔde nsa ahyɛ mmara no ase no, ɔkɔɔ fie kɔhyɛn nʼabansoro dan a ne mfɛnsere anim kyerɛ Yerusalem no. Da biara obuu nkotodwe bɔɔ mpae mprɛnsa daa ne Nyankopɔn ase sɛnea ɔyɛ daa no.
And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem) and he knelt upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did formerly.
11 Mpanyimfo no nyinaa bɔɔ mu kɔɔ Daniel fi kohuu no sɛ ɔrebɔ mpae resrɛ Onyankopɔn mmoa.
Then these men assembled together, and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.
12 Enti wɔsan kɔɔ Ɔhene Dario no nkyɛn kɔkaee no ne mmara no se, “Nana, woamfa wo nsa anhyɛ mmara a ɛka se adaduasa a edi anim yi, obiara a ɔbɛbɔ obi mpae, onyame anaa onipa na ɛnyɛ Nana no, wɔde no bɛto gyata amoa mu no ana?” Ɔhene no buae se, “Yiw, saa mmara no wɔ hɔ; ɛyɛ Mediafo ne Persiafo mmara a, wɔrentumi nsesa no.”
Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's interdict. Have thou not signed an interdict, that every man who shall make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter.
13 Afei wɔka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no se, “Nana, Daniel no a ɔyɛ Yuda nnommum no mu baako no mmu wo, na onni wo mmara no nso so. Ɔda so bɔ ne Nyankopɔn mpae mprɛnsa da koro.”
Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the sons of the captivity of Judah, does not regard thee, O king, nor the interdict that thou have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.
14 Ɔhene no tee saa no, ɛhaw no yiye, na osusuw ho ara kosii anwummere pɛɛ, ɔkwan bi a ɔbɛfa so agye Daniel nkwa.
Then the king, when he heard these words, was very displeased, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him. And he labored till the going down of the sun to rescue him.
15 Mmarima yi bɔɔ mu kɔɔ ɔhene no anim kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Nana, nidi mu, wunim sɛ, Mediafo ne Persiafo mmara mu no, wontumi nsesa mmara biara a ɔhene ahyɛ.”
Then these men assembled together to the king, and said to the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdict nor statute which the king establishes may be changed.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Thy God whom thou serve continually, he will deliver thee.
17 Wɔde bo bɛtoo amoa no ano. Na Ɔhene no de nʼankasa nsɔwano ne atitiriw nsɔwano susoo ɔbo no sɛnea obiara rentumi nyɛ Daniel ho hwee.
And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den. And the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords, that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.
18 Afei ɔhene no san kɔɔ nʼahemfi a anadwo no nyinaa, wannidi. Ɔpoo anigyede biara, na wantumi anna anadwo mu no nyinaa.
Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting, nor were instruments of music brought before him. And his sleep fled from him.
19 Ade kyee anɔpatutuutu no, ɔhene no yɛɛ ntɛm kɔɔ gyata amoa no ano.
Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste to the den of lions.
20 Oduu hɔ no, ɔde awerɛhow frɛe se, “Daniel, Onyankopɔn teasefo somfo. Wo Nyankopɔn a wosom no daa no tumi gyee wo fii gyata no mu ana?”
And when he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou serve continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Daniel teɛɛ mu se, “Nana wo nkwa so!
Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever.
22 Me Nyankopɔn somaa ne bɔfo bɛkataa gyata no ano, sɛnea wɔrentumi nyɛ me bɔne, efisɛ wahu sɛ, midi bem wɔ nʼanim. Na wo, Nana nso, menyɛɛ wo bɔne biara ɛ.”
My God has sent his agent, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me, inasmuch as before him innocence was found in me. And also before thee, O king, I have done no harm.
23 Ɔhene no ani gyee mmoroso, na ɔhyɛɛ sɛ wonyi Daniel mfi amoa no mu, enti wuyii no. Wɔanhu kam biara wɔ ne ho, efisɛ ɔde ne ho too ne Nyankopɔn so.
Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of harm was found upon him, because he had trusted in his God.
24 Afei ɔhene no hyɛɛ sɛ wɔnkɔkyere mmarima a wɔnam ntwatoso so ma wɔde Daniel kɔtoo gyata amoa mu no. Ɔma wɔtow wɔn ne wɔn yerenom ne wɔn mma guu gyata amoa no mu. Gyata no huruhuruw sisii wɔn so, tetew wɔn, bobɔɔ wɔn nnompe mu ansa koraa na wɔredu amoa no ase.
And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their sons, and their wives. And the lions had the mastery of them, and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.
25 Afei Ɔhene Dario de nkra yi kɔmaa nnipa ahorow nyinaa, aman nyinaa ne kasa biara wɔ wiase mmaa nyinaa se: “Ensi mo yiye mmoroso!
Then king Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
26 “Mehyɛ mmara sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ obiara a ɔwɔ mʼaheman mu suro, fɛre na ɔde nidi ma Daniel Nyankopɔn.
I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God, and steadfast forever. And his kingdom is that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even to the end.
27 “Ɔyɛ amanehunu mu gyefo na ogye nkwa nso;
He delivers and rescues, and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
28 Enti Daniel kɔɔ so dii yiye wɔ Ɔhene Dario ne Persiahene Kores mmere so.
So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
