< Asomafo 1 >

1 Mʼadamfo pa Teofilo, me nhoma a edi kan a mekyerɛw wo no mu no, mekaa Yesu nnwuma a ɔyɛe ne ne nkyerɛkyerɛ
The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 kosi bere a Onyankopɔn bɛfaa no kɔɔ ɔsoro no ho asɛm. Ansa na wɔrebɛfa no akɔ ɔsoro no, ɔnam Honhom Kronkron tumi so kyerɛkyerɛɛ nʼasuafo no.
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 Ne wusɔre akyi no, ɔtenaa asase so adaduanan, yii ne ho adi mpɛn pii kyerɛɛ nʼasuafo no de kyerɛɛ wɔn se, ampa, ɔte ase. Ɔkaa Onyankopɔn ahenni ho asɛm nso kyerɛɛ wɔn.
To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 Da bi a ɔne wɔn redidi no ɔhyɛɛ wɔn se, “Mummfi Yerusalem, na montwɛn akyɛde a mʼAgya ahyɛ mo ho bɔ a maka ho asɛm akyerɛ mo no.
And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
5 Yohane de, ɔde nsu na ɛbɔɔ asu, nanso mo de ɛrenkyɛ, wɔde Honhom Kronkron no bɛbɔ mo asu.”
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 Asuafo no nyinaa ne Yesu hyiaa mu no, wobisaa no se, “Awurade, bere yi mu na wode ahenni no bɛba Israel ana?”
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 Yesu buaa wɔn se, “Ɛho nhia sɛ mubehu bere a Agya no nam ne tumi so ahyehyɛ ato hɔ no.
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 Na sɛ Honhom Kronkron no ba mo so a, mubenya tumi na moayɛ me nnansefo wɔ Yerusalem ne Yudea nyinaa ne Samaria de kosi asase ano.”
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 Ɔkasa wiee no asuafo no huu no sɛ ɔnam omununkum mu rekɔ ɔsoro na wɔanhu no bio.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 Wogu so rehwɛ wim no, amono mu hɔ ara mmarima baanu bi a wɔhyehyɛ ntade fitafitaa begyinaa wɔn nkyɛn,
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 kae se, “Mo mmarima a mufi Galilea, adɛn nti na mugyina ha rehwɛ wim? Yesu a wɔafa no afi mo nkyɛn kɔ ɔsoro no, sɛnea osi kɔɔ ɔsoro no, saa ara na ɔbɛsan aba.”
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12 Eyi akyi no, asuafo no fii Ngo Bepɔw no so baa Yerusalem. Efi Ngo Bepɔw no so ba Yerusalem no bɛyɛ kilomita baako ne fa.
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
13 Woduu hɔ no, wɔkɔɔ ɔdan bi a na ɛwɔ aban a na wɔte so mu. Nnipa a na wɔwɔ hɔ no ne: Petro, Yohane, Yakobo ne Andrea; Filipo, Toma, Bartolomeo, Mateo, Alfeo ba Yakobo, Simon Seloteni ne Yakobo ba Yuda.
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas [the brother] of James.
14 Na saa asuafo yi nyinaa taa ne mmea bi te sɛ Yesu ne na Maria ne Yesu nuabarimanom hyia bɔ mpae.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 Nna kakraa bi akyi no gyidifo no a wɔn dodow bɛyɛ sɛ ɔha aduonu no hyiae na Petro sɔre kasae se:
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty, )
16 Me nuanom, ɛsɛ sɛ nkɔm a Honhom Kronkron no nam Dawid so hyɛ faa Yuda ho sɛ ɛnam ne so na wɔbɛkyere Yesu no ba mu.
Men [and] brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
17 Yɛn a Yesu yii yɛn no, na Yuda nso ka yɛn ho wɔ ɔsom no mu.
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18 (Sika a Yuda nya fii ade bɔne a ɔyɛe no mu no, wɔde tɔɔ asase wɔ faako a owui hɔ. Ɔtew bɛhwee fam ma ne mu pae maa ne nsono tu guu so.
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 Nnipa a na wɔte Yerusalem nyinaa tee saa asɛm no, wɔtoo asase no din wɔ wɔn ankasa kasa mu se Hekeldama a nkyerɛase ne, Mogya Asase.)
And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20 Petro toaa so kae se, “Wɔakyerɛw wɔ Dawid nhoma mu se, “‘Ne fi nyɛ amamfo, na ɔfoforo nsi nʼanan mu.’
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21 Enti ɛsɛ sɛ yeyi nnipa a yɛne wɔn nantew bere a na Yesu ne yɛn di akɔneaba no nyinaa,
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 fi Yohane asubɔ adwuma no so de kosi bere a wɔfaa Yesu fii yɛn nkyɛn kɔɔ ɔsoro no, efisɛ ɛsɛ sɛ saa nnipa no mu baako bɛka yɛn ho ne yɛn di Yesu wusɔre no ho adanse.”
Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 Woyii nnipa baanu. Ɔbaako din de Yosef a na wɔfrɛ no Barsaba, na wɔtaa frɛ no Yusto nso. Nea na ɔka ho no nso din de Matia.
And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24 Afei asuafo no bɔɔ mpae se, “Awurade, wunim obiara koma mu. Ɛno nti kyerɛ yɛn nnipa baanu yi mu nea woayi no
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all [men], shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 sɛ ommesi Yuda a wanya ne baabi kɔ no anan mu mmɛyɛ asomafodwuma no.”
That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 Afei asuafo no bɔɔ wɔn so ntonto maa esii Matia. Enti wɔfaa no kaa asomafo dubaako no ho.
And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
