And Saul was consenting to his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all dispersed throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Onyamesurofo bi kɔfaa Stefano kosiee no. Wosuu no yiye.
And devout men carried Stephen [to his burial], and made great lamentation over him.
3 Esiane sɛ na Saulo pɛ sɛ ogu asafo no nti ɔkɔɔ afi mu kɔkyekyeree agyidifo mmarima ne mmea de wɔn guu afiase.
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and hauling men and women committed [them] to prison.
4 Agyidifo a na wɔabɔ ahwete no kaa asɛmpa no wɔ baabiara a wɔkɔe.
Therefore they that were dispersed went every where preaching the word.
5 Filipo kɔɔ Samaria kurow bi mu kɔkaa Agyenkwa no ho asɛm kyerɛɛ nnipa a na wɔwɔ hɔ no.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them.
6 Bere a nnipakuw no tee asɛm a Filipo reka na wohuu anwonwade a ɔyɛe no, wɔn nyinaa tiee no.
And the people with one accord gave heed to those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he performed.
7 Ahonhommɔne de nteɛteɛmu fii nnipa bebree mu. Saa ara na mmubuafo ne mpakye nso sɔre nantewee.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 Eyi nti anigye baa Samaria.
And there was great joy in that city.
9 Na ɔbarima bi te saa kurow yi mu a wɔfrɛ no Simon a ɔyɛ nkonyaayifo a esiane ne nkonyaayi no nti Samariafo pii gye no di. Na ɔyɛ obi a ɔhoahoa ne ho sɛ odi mu.
But there was a certain man called Simon, who before in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 Eyi maa nnipa a wɔwɔ kurow no mu no nyinaa gyee no too mu kae se, “Saa onipa yi ne Onyankopɔn tumi a wɔfrɛ no Ɔkɛse no.”
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 Esiane ne nkonyaa a na oyi no nti, ɛmaa nnipa no nyinaa tu dii nʼakyi.
And to him they had regard, because that for a long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 Bere a saa nnipa yi gyee asɛmpa a Filipo ka faa Onyankopɔn ahenni ne Yesu Kristo din no ho dii no, wɔbɔɔ mmarima ne mmea nyinaa asu.
But when they believed Philip, preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized both men and women.
13 Simon nso gye dii ma wɔbɔɔ no asu. Baabiara a Filipo kɔe no, Simon dii nʼakyi. Anwonwade a ohuu no maa ne ho dwiriw no.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Bere a asomafo a wɔwɔ Yerusalem no tee sɛ Samariafo agye Onyankopɔn asɛm no adi no, wɔsomaa Petro ne Yohane kɔɔ wɔn nkyɛn.
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John:
15 Woduu hɔ no, wɔbɔɔ mpae maa agyidifo no sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a Honhom Kronkron bɛba wɔn so,
Who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit:
16 efisɛ saa bere no na asu kɛkɛ na wɔnam Awurade Yesu din so abɔ. Na Honhom Kronkron nnya mmaa wɔn so ɛ.
(For as yet he had fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Afei Petro ne Yohane de wɔn nsa guguu wɔn so maa Honhom Kronkron baa wɔn so.
Then they laid [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18 Simon huu sɛ asomafo no nsa a wɔde guguu wɔn so no na ɛma wonyaa Honhom Kronkron no, ɔmaa Petro ne Yohane sika srɛɛ sɛ,
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,
19 “Momma me saa tumi yi bi na obiara a mede me nsa begu no so no anya Honhom Kronkron no bi.”
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 Petro ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Nnome nka wo ne wo sika nyinaa, efisɛ wususuw sɛ wubetumi de sika atɔ Onyankopɔn akyɛde no.
But Peter said to him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Wunni kyɛfa biara wɔ yɛn dwumadi yi mu, efisɛ wo koma mu ntew wɔ Onyankopɔn anim.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thy heart may be forgiven thee.
23 Mihu sɛ anibere bɔne ahyɛ wo koma mu ama bɔne afa wo nnommum.”
For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and [in] the bond of iniquity.
24 Simon srɛɛ Petro ne Yohane se, “Mommɔ mpae mma me na saa nnome yi mu biara amma me so.”
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
25 Ansa na Petro ne Yohane redu Yerusalem no, wɔkaa asɛmpa no wɔ Samaria nkuraa bebree ase.
And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 Awurade bɔfo ka kyerɛɛ Filipo se, “Sɔre siesie wo ho kɔ anafo kwan a efi Yerusalem kɔ Gasa no so.”
And the angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise, and go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert.
27 Bere a Filipo rekɔ no, ohyiaa Etiopiani piamni bi a ɔyɛ Etiopiahemmea Kandake dabeni. Na saa onipa yi akɔ asɔre wɔ Yerusalem,
And he arose, and went: and behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

Was returning; and sitting in his chariot, read Isaiah the prophet.
29 Honhom Kronkron ka kyerɛɛ Filipo se, “Twiw bɛn no.”
Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join thyself to this chariot.
30 Filipo yɛɛ ntɛm kɔɔ teaseɛnam no ho na ɔtee sɛ ɔrekenkan Odiyifo Yesaia nhoma no, obisaa se, “Wote nea worekenkan yi ase ana?”
And Philip ran thither to [him], and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 Piamni no buaa no se, “Mɛyɛ dɛn na mate ase? Gye sɛ obi kyerɛ me ase.” Afei ɔka kyerɛɛ Filipo se ɔmforo mmɛtena ne nkyɛn wɔ ne teaseɛnam no mu.
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up, and sit with him.
32 Na piamni no rekenkan saa Kyerɛwsɛm yi: “Ɔte sɛ oguamma a wɔrekokum no. Sɛnea oguamma yɛ komm wɔ ne nwitwitwafo anim no, saa ara na wammue nʼano.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth:
33 Nʼanimguase mu, wannya odimafo. Na hena na ɔbɛka nʼasefo ho asɛm? Efisɛ woyii no fii asase yi so.”
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 Piamni no bisaa Filipo se, “Odiyifo no reka nʼankasa ho asɛm anaa obi foforo ho asɛm?”
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Filipo nam saa asɛm no so kaa nsɛmpa a ɛfa Yesu ho no kyerɛɛ no.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus.
36 Wɔrekɔ no woduu asu bi ho. Piamni no ka kyerɛɛ Filipo se, “Nsu ni. Dɛn na esiw wo kwan sɛ wobɔ me asu?”
And as they went on [their] way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 Filipo ka kyerɛ no se, “Sɛ wufi wo koma mu gye di a, mɛbɔ wo asu.” Piamni no buaa no se, “Migye di. Migye di sɛ Yesu Kristo yɛ Onyankopɔn Ba.”
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 Piamni no hyɛ maa teaseɛnam no gyinae. Ɔne Filipo kɔɔ asu no ho ma ɔbɔɔ no asu.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 Wofi nsu no mu no, Onyankopɔn Honhom hwim Filipo fii piamni no nkyɛn kɔe. Wanhu Filipo bio de, nanso ɔde anigye toaa nʼakwantu no so.
And when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 Filipo kopuee Asoto kɔɔ so kaa asɛmpa no wɔ nkurow no mu kosii sɛ okoduu Kaesarea.
But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through, he preached in all the cities, till he came to Cesarea.
