1 Yɛne Efeso asafo mpanyimfo no dii ntetewmu no, yesii mu nam asu ani tee kɔɔ Ko. Ade kyee no, yekoduu Rodo na yefii hɔ kɔɔ Patara.
And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the [day] following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:
2 Yenyaa hyɛn bi a ɛrekɔ Foinike kɔtenaa mu kɔe.
And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.
3 Yeduu baabi a yɛn ani tua Kipro no, yetwaa ho wɔ benkum fam kɔɔ Siria. Yesii fam wɔ Tiro, efisɛ na ɛhɔ na wɔrekoyi hyɛn no mu nneɛma.
Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.
4 Yehuu asuafo bi wɔ hɔ tenaa wɔn nkyɛn dii nnaawɔtwe. Asuafo no nam Honhom Kronkron adiyi so bɔɔ Paulo kɔkɔ sɛ ɔnkɔ Yerusalem.
And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
5 Nanso bere duu sɛ ɛsɛ sɛ yefi hɔ no, yegyaw wɔn hɔ kɔe. Asuafo no nyinaa ne wɔn yerenom ne wɔn mma kogyaa yɛn kwan koduu mpoano. Yeduu hɔ no yɛn nyinaa buu nkotodwe bɔɔ mpae.
And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till [we were] out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.
6 Afei yɛkrakraa yɛn ho yɛn ho wiei no, yɛkɔtenaa hyɛn no mu maa wɔn nso san kɔɔ fie.
And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.
7 Yefi Tiro no, yɛtoaa yɛn akwantu no so faa nsu ani koduu Ptolemai. Yeduu hɔ no yekokyiaa asuafo a wɔwɔ hɔ no dii wɔn nkyɛn da koro.
And when we had finished [our] course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.
8 Yefii hɔ nʼadekyee so kɔɔ Kaesarea kɔtenaa ɔsɛmpakafo Filipo a na ɔka mmarima baason a woyii wɔn wɔ Yerusalem no ho no fi.
And the next [day] we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was [one] of the seven; and abode with him.
9 Na Filipo wɔ mmabea baanan a wɔnwaree ɛ, na wɔhyɛ nkɔm.
And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.
10 Yɛtenaa hɔ kyɛɛ kakra no, odiyifo bi a wɔfrɛ no Agabo fii Yudea baa hɔ.
And as we tarried [there] many days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus.
11 Ɔbaa faako a yɛwɔ no, ɔfaa Paulo abɔso de kyekyeree ne nan ne ne nsa kae se, “Asɛm a Honhom Kronkron ka ni, ‘Sɛnea Yudafo a wɔwɔ Yerusalem no bɛkyekyere onipa a abɔso yi yɛ ne dea no, na wɔde no ahyɛ amanamanmufo no nsa ni!’”
And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles.
12 Yɛtee saa asɛm no, yɛne wɔn a na yɛne wɔn wɔ hɔ no nyinaa srɛɛ Paulo sɛ ɔnnkɔ Yerusalem.
And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 Na ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Osu a musu de rehyɛ me awerɛhow yi ase ne dɛn? Me de, masiesie me ho sɛ ɛnyɛ kyekyere a wɔbɛkyekyere me wɔ Yerusalem no na misuro, na sɛ etwa sɛ miwu ma Awurade Yesu a, mewu.”
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 Yɛkae kae a wampene no yegyae kae se, “Nea Awurade pɛ na ɛnyɛ.”
And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
15 Nna bi akyi no, yɛboaboaa yɛn ho fii hɔ kɔɔ Yerusalem.
And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.
16 Kaesarea asuafo no bi ne yɛn kɔe. Yeduu hɔ no, yɛkɔsoɛɛ Mnason a ofi Kipro a ogyee Yesu Kristo dii akyɛ no fi.
There went with us also [certain] of the disciples of Cæsarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.
17 Yeduu Yerusalem no, asuafo a wɔwɔ hɔ no nyinaa gyee yɛn ɔfɛw so.
And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
18 Ade kyee no, Paulo ne yɛn kokyia Yakobo ne Yerusalem asafo no mu mpanyimfo.
And the [day] following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
19 Nkyia no akyi no, Paulo kaa biribiara a Onyankopɔn nam ne som no so ayɛ wɔ amanamanmufo no mu no kyerɛɛ wɔn.
And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 Wotiee Paulo amanneɛbɔ no wiei no, wɔhyɛɛ Onyankopɔn anuonyam. Na wɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Onua, wʼankasa wudi adanse sɛ Yudafo mpempem na na wɔabɛyɛ asuafo a wɔn nyinaa nso di yɛn mmara no so.
And when they heard [it], they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
21 Saa nnipa yi ate sɛ wutia Mose mmara no ne Yudafo amanne; ɛne sɛ, wokyerɛkyerɛ Yudafo a wɔte amanamanmufo no mu se wonntwa wɔn mma twetia na wonnni yɛn amanne nso so.
And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise [their] children, neither to walk after the customs.
22 Nea ɛbɛyɛ biara, wɔbɛte sɛ woaba ha. Enti yɛbɛyɛ no dɛn?
What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.
23 Yɛ nea yɛrebɛka akyerɛ wo yi. Mmarima baanan bi wɔ yɛn nkyɛn ha a, wɔaka ntam.
Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
24 Wo ne wɔn nkɔ na munkodwira mo ho na tua ho ka ma wɔn sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a, wobetumi atwitwa wɔn tinwi. Eyi bɛma obiara ahu sɛ nsɛm a wɔte faa wo ho no mu biara nyɛ nokware, efisɛ wʼankasa mpo wudi Mose mmara no so.
Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave [their] heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but [that] thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.
As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written [and] concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from [things] offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
26 Ade kyee no, Paulo ne mmarima no kodwiraa wɔn ho. Ɔne wɔn kɔɔ asɔredan mu kɔkyerɛɛ da a wobewie wɔn ahodwira no ne da a wɔbɛbɔ afɔre ama wɔn mmaako mmaako.
Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.
27 Nnanson no reyɛ atwam no, Yudafo bi a wofi Asia huu Paulo wɔ asɔredan no mu. Wɔhwanyan nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ no nyinaa ma wɔkyeree Paulo.
And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,
28 Wɔteɛteɛɛ mu se, “Israel mmarima, monsɔre mmɛboa yɛn! Oyi ne ɔbarima a baabiara a ɔbɛkɔ no ɔnam ne nkyerɛkyerɛ so tia Israelfo, Mose mmara ne asɔredan yi. Mpo ɔde amanamanmufo bi aba ha de agu Kronkronbea ha ho fi.”
Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all [men] every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.
29 Nea enti a wɔkaa saa asɛm yi ne sɛ, na wɔahu Paulo ne Efesoni Trofimo wɔ kurom hɔ, enti na wosusuw sɛ Paulo de no akɔ asɔredan mu hɔ.
(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)
30 Wɔtee saa no, kurow mu no nyinaa bɔɔ twi kɔkyeree Paulo, twee no fii asɔredan no mu hɔ. Wɔtotoo asɔredan no apon no nyinaa mu ntɛm so.
And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.
31 Bere a dɔm no pɛɛ sɛ wokum Paulo no, obi kɔka kyerɛɛ Roma asraafo sahene no se basabasa asi Yerusalem.
And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.
32 Amono mu hɔ ara ɔsahene no ne asraafo mpanyin bi ne asraafo bi de ahoɔhare kɔɔ nea dɔm no ahyia hɔ. Bere a nnipa no huu no ne asraafo no, wogyaee Paulo hwe.
Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.
33 Ɔsahene no kosoo Paulo mu, kyerɛɛ sɛ wɔmfa nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn abien ngu no. Afei obisae se, “Hena ne saa ɔbarima yi? Bɔne bɛn na wayɛ?”
Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded [him] to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.
34 Nnipa no ano antumi ankɔ bɛnkoro; ebinom ka sɛɛ a, na afoforo nso aka sɛɛ. Saa basabasa yi amma ɔsahene no antumi anhu asɛm pɔtee a asi. Ɛno nti, ɔhyɛɛ nʼasraafo no sɛ wɔmfa Paulo nkɔ aban mu.
And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.
35 Wɔde Paulo duu atrapoe no ano no, dɔm no bɔ toaa no enti asraafo no maa no so kɔe.
And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.
36 Dɔm no tu dii wɔn akyi teɛteɛɛ mu se, “Munkum no!”
For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.
37 Wɔde Paulo rekɔ aban mu no, obisaa ɔsahene no se, “Mesrɛ wo, metumi aka asɛm bi akyerɛ wo ana?” Ɔsahene no nso bisaa no se, “Enti, wote Hela kasa?
And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
38 Ɛnyɛ wo ne Misraimni a da bi ofii basabasayɛ ase dii mmarima awudifo mpem anan anim kɔɔ sare so no?”
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
39 Paulo buaa no se, “Meyɛ Yudani a wɔwoo me wɔ Tarso; Kilikia kurow a agye din no mu nipa ne me. Mesrɛ wo, ma me ho kwan na me ne nnipa no nkasa.”
But Paul said, I am a man [which am] a Jew of Tarsus, [a city] in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
40 Ɔsahene no maa Paulo kwan ma ogyinaa atrapoe no so nyamaa nnipa no. Wɔyɛɛ komm no, Paulo kasa kyerɛɛ wɔn wɔ Arameike kasa mu se:
And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto [them] in the Hebrew tongue, saying,
