< 3 Yohane 1 >
1 Me, Asɔre panyin, Mekyerɛw kɔma me dɔfo pa Gaio.
The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I sincerely love in truth:
2 Mʼadamfo pa, mebɔ mpae sɛ biribiara nkɔ so yiye mma wo, na nya ahoɔden sɛnea minim sɛ wowɔ ahoɔden wɔ honhom fa mu no.
Beloved, I pray that in all ways you may prosper and be in good health, just as I know that your soul prospers.
3 Anuanom bi baa ha bɛka kyerɛɛ me se, woanya nokware no mu gyidi no, na woda so kura nokware no mu no, ɛyɛɛ me anigye yiye.
For I rejoiced greatly when some brothers came and testified about the truth that is in you, as indeed you do walk in the truth.
4 Biribiara nyɛ me anigye nkyɛn sɛ mɛte sɛ me mma no te nokware mu.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
5 Mʼadamfo pa, wudi nokware yiye wɔ adwuma a woyɛ ma anuanom no a ɛmfa ho sɛ wɔyɛ ahɔho mpo.
Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brothers and sisters, and especially when they are strangers.
6 Wɔaka ɔdɔ a wodɔ asafo a ɛwɔ hɔ no ho asɛm. Mesrɛ wo, boa wɔn wɔ wɔn akwantu no mu ma ɛnsɔ Onyankopɔn ani.
They have testified to your sincere love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God,
7 Efisɛ wɔretu wɔn kwan wɔ Awurade din mu a wɔmpɛ mmoa biara mfi wɔn a wɔnyɛ agyidifo no nkyɛn.
for they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the heathen.
8 Yɛn Kristofo na ɛsɛ sɛ yɛboa saa nnipa no sɛnea yɛne wɔn bɛyɛ nokware no ho adwuma.
Therefore we ought to support such people, that we may be fellow workers with the truth.
9 Mekyerɛw krataa tiaa bi kɔmaa asafo no, nanso Diotrefe a nʼani gye sɛ ɔyɛ wɔn panyin no ntie nea meka no.
I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn’t accept what we say.
10 Sɛ meba a, mede biribiara a ɔreyɛ no ho asɛm bɛto mo anim. Mɛka nsɛm a ɛyɛ hu a ɔka fa yɛn ho ne atoro a otwa nyinaa no ho asɛm. Nanso ɛno nko ara nye mma no. Sɛ anuanom afoforo ba a, onnye wɔn, na osiw wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wogye wɔn no nso kwan, san apam wɔn fi asafo no mu.
For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. Not satisfied with this, he himself doesn’t receive the brothers and sisters, either, and he forbids those who desire to do so and puts them out of the church.
11 Mʼadamfo pa, munnsua ade bɔne, na mmom munsua ade pa. Obiara a ɔyɛ papa no yɛ Onyankopɔn de. Na obiara a ɔyɛ bɔne no nhuu Onyankopɔn ɛ.
Beloved, don’t imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good belongs to God; the one who does evil hasn’t seen God.
12 Obiara ka Demetrio ho asɛm pa, na mpo nokware no ankasa ka ne ho asɛm pa. Na yɛn nso yedi ne ho adanse pa, na munim sɛ nea yɛka no yɛ nokware.
Demetrius has received a good testimony from everyone, and from the truth itself. We add our testimony, and you know that our testimony is true.
13 Mewɔ nsɛm bebree ka kyerɛ mo, nanso meremfa krataa ne kyerɛwdua so nka.
I had many things to write to you, but I would rather not write them to you with pen and ink;
14 Ɛrenkyɛ biara mehu mo na me ne mo akasa. Asomdwoe nka mo. Mo nnamfonom nyinaa kyiakyia mo. Kyiakyia yɛn nnamfonom nyinaa.
but I hope to see you soon, and we will speak face to face.
Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
