< 2 Samuel 6 >
1 Na Dawid boaboaa Israel mmabun a wɔn ho mmu wɔn dwɛ mpem aduasa ano.
Once again David called up all specially chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand in total.
2 Odii wɔn anim fi Baala a ɛwɔ Yuda, sɛ wɔrekɔfa Onyankopɔn Adaka, a ekura Awurade Tumfo no a wɔde no asi kerubim ntam no din.
He went with all his men to Baalah in Judah to bring back the Ark of God, which belongs to the Lord Almighty who sits between the cherubim that are on the Ark.
3 Wɔde Onyankopɔn Adaka no sii teaseɛnam foforo so, de fii Abinadab fi a na ɛwɔ bepɔw so no bae. Usa ne Ahio a na wɔyɛ Abinadab mmabarima no na na wɔkyerɛ teaseɛnam foforo no
They placed the Ark of God on a new cart and brought it from Abinadab's house, which was on a hill. Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab's sons, were directing the cart

with the Ark of God on it, with Ahio walking in front of it.
5 Dawid ne Israel manfo gyee wɔn ani wɔ Awurade anim wɔ ahoɔden so a wɔreto nnwom, na wɔde asanku, mmɛnta, akasae, mfirikyiwa ne kyɛnkyɛn nenam mu.
David and all the Israelites were celebrating in the Lord's presence, singing songs accompanied by zithers, harps, tambourines, rattles, and cymbals.
6 Na woduu Nakon awiporowbea no, nantwi no nan totoe, maa Usa teɛɛ ne nsa soo Onyankopɔn Adaka no mu sɛ ɔreteɛ no.
But when they came to the threshing floor of Nachon, the oxen stumbled, so Uzzah reached out to stop the Ark of God from falling.
7 Na Awurade bo fuw Usa sɛ ɔyɛɛ saa, na Onyankopɔn bɔɔ no ma owu daa adaka no ho.
The Lord was angry with Uzzah, and God struck him down right there for his disobedience, and he died beside the Ark of God.
8 Dawid nso bo fuw, efisɛ Awurade abufuw atia Usa. Ɔtoo saa beae hɔ din Peres-Usa a ase ne abufuwhyew a etia Usa. Wɔfrɛ hɔ saa ara de besi nnɛ.
David was angry because of the Lord's violent outburst against Uzzah. He called the place Perez-uzzah, which is still its name today.
9 Afei, na Dawid suro Awurade nti obisaa se, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na Awurade adaka no bɛba me nkyɛn?”
David became afraid of the Lord that day. “How can I ever bring back the Ark of God home to me?” he asked.
10 Na Dawid yɛɛ nʼadwene sɛ, ɔremma Awurade Adaka no so nkɔ Dawid Kuropɔn no mu. Na mmom, ɔmaa so de kɔɔ Obed-Edom a ɔyɛ Gatni fi.
Not wanting to bring the Ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David, he had it taken to the home of Obed-edom the Gittite.
11 Na Awurade adaka no sii Gatni Obed-Edom fifo nkyɛn asram abiɛsa, na Awurade hyiraa no ne ne fi mu nnipa nyinaa.
The Ark of the Lord remained in Obed-edom's home for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom's whole household.
12 Afei, wɔka kyerɛɛ ɔhene Dawid se, “Esiane Awurade Adaka no nti, Awurade ahyira Obed-Edom fi ne biribiara a ɔwɔ so.” Enti Dawid kɔɔ hɔ kɔfaa Adaka no, de osebɔ kɛse baa Dawid Kuropɔn no mu.
King David was told, “The Lord has blessed Obed-edom's household and all that he has because of the Ark of God.” So David went and had the Ark of God brought from Obed-edom's house to the City of David. There was a lot of celebration!
13 Nnipa a na wɔso Awurade Adaka no tuu anammɔn asia pɛ, wogyinaa hɔ twɛnee, sɛnea Dawid betumi de nantwi ne nantwi ba a wadɔ srade abɔ afɔre.
After those carrying the Ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.
14 Na Dawid fii nʼahoɔden nyinaa mu saw wɔ Awurade anim a na ɔhyɛ asɔfotade yuu.
Wearing a priest's ephod, David danced as hard as he could before the Lord
15 Enti Dawid ne Israel nyinaa de nteɛteɛmu ne ntorobɛntohyɛn maa Awurade Adaka no so kɔe.
as he and all the Israelites brought along the Ark of the Lord, with plenty of shouting and the sound of horns being blown.
16 Bere a wɔde Awurade Adaka no rewura Dawid Kuropɔn no mu no, Saulo babea a ne din de Mikal no kɔtɛwee mfɛnsere mu hwɛe. Ohuu sɛ ɔhene Dawid rehuruhuruw, resaw anigye so wɔ Awurade anim no, nʼani annye.
As the Ark of the Lord was carried into the City of David, Saul's daughter Michal looked down from a window. She watched King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she really loathed him.
17 Wɔde Awurade Adaka no kosii nʼafa wɔ ntamadan a ɛno nti, Dawid asi no mu, na Dawid bɔɔ ɔhyew afɔre ne asomdwoe afɔre wɔ Awurade anim.
They brought the Ark of the Lord and put it on its place inside the tent that David had set up for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and friendship offerings before the Lord.
18 Owiei no, ohyiraa nkurɔfo no wɔ Asafo Awurade din mu.
Once he had finished offering the sacrifices, David blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty.
19 Afei, ɔmaa Israel dɔm no mu onipa biara brodo mua, namkum ne bobe aba ɔfam. Na wɔn mu biara kɔɔ ne fi.
He gave all the Israelites, both men and women, a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. Then he sent everyone home.
20 Bere a Dawid san kɔɔ ne fi sɛ ɔrekohyira ne fifo no, Mikal fii adi ba behyiaa no ka kyerɛɛ no abufuw so se, “Nnɛ de, na Israelhene nsɛ ha! Ɔpaa ne ho kyerɛɛ ne mfenaa te sɛ nea obiara a ommu ne ho bɛyɛ no ara pɛ.”
When David got home to bless his family, Michal, Saul's daughter came out to meet him and said, “How distinguished the king of Israel made himself look today, taking off his robes so everyone's servant girls could see, just as somebody crude would expose himself!”
21 Dawid buaa Mikal se, “Na meresaw wɔ Awurade a oyii me, na otwaa wʼagya ne nʼabusuafo gyawee no anim. Oyii me sɛ menyɛ Israel a wɔyɛ Awurade nkurɔfo ɔkannifo. Ɛno nti, ɛyɛ me pɛ sɛ meyɛ me ho sɛ ɔkwasea, sɛnea ɛbɛma makyerɛ mʼahokeka a mewɔ wɔ Awurade mu.
David told Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his family when he named me ruler over the Lord's people Israel. I will continue to celebrate before the Lord,
22 Yiw, na mepɛ sɛ meyɛ ɔkwasea koraa sen eyi, na mmeawa koro yi ara a woreka wɔn ho asɛm yi bɛhyɛ me anuonyam.”
in fact I'm going to make myself even less distinguished, become even more humble. However, I will be respected by those servant girls you spoke about.”
23 Na Saulo babea Mikal anwo ba da wɔ ne nkwa nna nyinaa.
And Michal, Saul's daughter, never had any children.
