< 2 Samuel 5 >

1 Afei, Israel mmusuakuw no nyinaa kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn wɔ Hebron kɔka kyerɛɛ no se, “Yɛn nyinaa yɛ wʼabusuafo.
Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we [are] thy bone and thy flesh.
2 Mmere bi a atwa mu no a mpo, na Saulo yɛ yɛn hene no, wo ara na wudii Israel anim. Na Awurade aka akyerɛ wo se, ‘Wobɛyɛ me manfo Israel so guanhwɛfo. Wobɛyɛ wɔn kannifo.’”
Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
3 Enti Dawid ne Israel ntuanofo no yɛɛ apam wɔ Hebron Awurade anim. Na wɔsraa no ngo sii no Israelhene.
So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
4 Dawid dii ade no, na wanya mfirihyia aduasa. Na odii ade mfirihyia aduanan.
David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, [and] he reigned forty years.
5 Ɔtenaa Hebron dii ade wɔ Yuda so mfirihyia ason ne asram asia. Na ɔtenaa Yerusalem no nso, odii Israel ne Yuda nyinaa so hene mfirihyia aduasa abiɛsa.
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
6 Dawid dii nʼakofo anim kɔɔ Yerusalem kɔko tiaa Yebusifo. Yebusifo no dii wɔn ho fɛw se, “Morentumi mma ha. Na mpo, anifuraefo ne mmubuafo betu mo afi ha.” Efisɛ na Yebusifo no dwene sɛ wɔwɔ bammɔ.
And the king and his men went to Jerusalem to the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: who spoke to David, saying, Except thou shalt take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
7 Nanso Dawid ko faa Sion aban no a mprempren wɔfrɛ no Dawid Kuropɔn no.
Nevertheless, David took the strong hold of Zion: the same [is] the city of David.
8 Bere a animka nkra fi bammɔfo a wɔwɔ kurow no mu duu Dawid asom no, ɔka kyerɛɛ ne dɔm no se, “Momfa nsudorobɛn no mu nkɔ kurow no mu, na monkɔsɛe Yebusifo mpakye ne anifuraefo no, efisɛ mikyi wɔn! Ɛno nti na wɔka se, ‘Anifuraefo ne mpakye’ renkɔ ahemfi” no.
And David said on that day, Whoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, [that are] hated by David's soul, [he shall be chief and captain]: Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9 Enti Dawid yɛɛ nʼatenae wɔ abandennen na ɔfrɛɛ hɔ Dawid Kuropɔn no mu. Osisii bammɔ adan bebree twaa kurow no ho kaa ho. Wofii dwumadi no ase wɔ Milo de baa mu.
So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built around from Millo and inward.
10 Na Dawid kɔɔ so yɛɛ kɛse adekyee biara, efisɛ na Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn ka ne ho.
And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts [was] with him.
11 Afei, Tirohene Huram somaa abɔfo kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn a nnua dwumfo ne abo adansifo ka wɔn ho sɛ wonkosi ahemfi mma no. Huram de sida nnua bebree kɔɔ hɔ sɛ wɔmpae.
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David a house.
12 Na Dawid huu sɛ, ne nkurɔfo Israelfo nti, Awurade asi no hene, na wayɛ nʼaheman kɛse.
And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
13 Dawid tu fi Hebron baa Yerusalem no, ɔwaree mmea bebree, faa mpenanom nso. Ɛno nti, ɔwoo mmabarima ne mmabea bebree.
And David took [him] more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14 Eyinom ne Dawid mmabarima a wɔwowoo wɔn wɔ Yerusalem no: Samua, Sobab, Natan, Salomo
And these [are] the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15 Yibhar, Elisua, Nefeg, Yafia
Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16 Elisama, Eliada ne Elifelet.
And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
17 Bere a Filistifo tee sɛ wɔasra Dawid, de no asi Israelhene no, wɔboaboaa wɔn asraafo ano, kɔhwehwɛɛ Dawid sɛ wobenya no akyere no. Na Dawid tee no, ɔno nso kɔɔ ne ban mu.
But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went down to the hold.
18 Afei, Filistifo no beduu Refaim bon mu, na wɔtrɛtrɛw wɔn ho mu wɔ hɔ.
The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19 Enti Dawid bisaa Awurade se, “Menkɔtow nhyɛ Filistifo yi so ana? Wobɛdan wɔn ahyɛ me nsa ana?” Awurade buaa no se, “Yiw, kɔ na mɛdan Filistifo no ahyɛ wo nsa.”
And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said to David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thy hand.
20 Enti Dawid kɔɔ Baal-Perasim, na ɛhɔ na odii Filistifo no so nkonim. Ɔkae se, “Awurade ayɛ! Ɔbɔ wuraa mʼatamfo no mu sɛ nsuyiri a ɛworo so!” Enti Dawid too beae hɔ din se Baal-Perasim.
And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon my enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
21 Filistifo no gyaw wɔn ahoni wɔ hɔ, maa Dawid ne ne mmarima no soaa ne nyinaa kɔe.
And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
22 Filistifo no san baa bio bɛtrɛtrɛw wɔn ho mu wɔ Refaim bon ho,
And the Philistines came yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23 enti Dawid bisaa Awurade nea ɔnyɛ. Awurade buae se, “Nkɔ tee, mmom, twa fa wɔn ho wɔ wɔn akyi, na tow hyɛ wɔn so wɔ baka nnua no anim.
And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up: [but] fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees.
24 Na sɛ wote nnyigyei te sɛ nsrabɔ bi wɔ baka nnua no atifi a, bɔ toa wɔn! Ɛkyerɛ sɛ, Awurade atu di wʼanim rekokunkum Filistifo no.”
And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25 Enti Dawid yɛɛ nea Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no no, na ɔsɛee Filistifo no fi Geba de kosii Geser.
And David did so as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gazer.
