< 2 Petro 3 >

1 Adɔfonom, eyi ne krataa a ɛto so abien a makyerɛw abrɛ mo. Mekyerɛw sɛ mede rebɛkae mo, de akanyan mo adwene.
This is now my second letter to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your pure minds by putting you in remembrance.
2 Mepɛ sɛ mokae nsɛm a adiyifo akronkron no kaa no mmere bi a atwam no ne mmara a efi Awurade ne Agyenkwa a wɔde faa mo asomafo so maa mo no.
I want you to recollect the words that were foretold by the holy prophets, and the command of your Lord and Saviour, given you through your apostles.
3 Nea edi kan no, ɛsɛ sɛ mote ase sɛ nna a edi akyiri no mu no, nnipa bi bɛba a wɔn ara wɔn honam akɔnnɔ na ebedi wɔn so. Wobedi mo ho fɛw
Know this first, that mockers will come in the last days, in their mockery, men who walk the way of their own lusts
4 aka se, “Ɔhyɛɛ mo bɔ se ɔbɛba. Wanka? Na ɔwɔ he? Yɛn agyanom awuwu dedaw, nanso biribiara te sɛ nea ɛte fi adebɔ mfiase!”
and say, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the day that our fathers fell asleep everything continues as it was from the beginning of the creation."
5 Wɔhyɛ da ma wɔn werɛ fi nokware no sɛ, efi tete na Onyankopɔn kasa maa ɔsoro bae, na wofi nsu mu de nsu yɛɛ asase.
For they willingly ignore the fact that there were heaven, from of old, and an earth formed out of water and through water, by the word of God;
6 Akyiri no wɔde nsuyiri bɛsɛee saa bere wiase no.
and that by the same means the world which then existed was destroyed by a deluge of water.
7 Nanso Onyankopɔn ahyɛ sɛ ɔsoro ne asase ntena hɔ nkosi atemmuda. Afei wɔbɛsɔ ogya wɔ mu de asɛe nnebɔneyɛfo.
But the heavens and earth that now are, by the same word of God, have been reserved for fire, and are being kept for the Day of Judgment, and for the destruction of ungodly men.
8 Nanso anuanom, mommma mo werɛ mfi ade baako sɛ Awurade ani so de, nsonoe nni da koro ne mfe apem ntam. Ne fam de, abien no nyinaa yɛ pɛ.
Do not forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 Awurade ntwentwɛn ne nan ase wɔ ne bɔ a wahyɛ ho sɛnea ebinom susuw no. Mmom ɔwɔ mo ho ntoboase, efisɛ ɔmpɛ sɛ wɔbɛsɛe obiara, na mmom ɔpɛ sɛ obiara sakra fi ne bɔne ho.
The Lord does not loiter over his promise, as some men esteem loitering; but he is longsuffering toward you, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should pass on to repentance.
10 Na Awurade da no bɛba sɛ ɔkorɔmfo. Da no, ɔsoro bɛbobɔ mu na ayera na wim nneɛma bɛhyew na asɛe na asase ne so nneɛma nyinaa nso bɛda adi.
But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief; and on that Day the heavens will vanish with a crash, the heavenly bodies will melt with fervent heat, and the earth and all its works will be burned up.
11 Na sɛ saa ɔkwan yi so na wɔbɛfa asɛe ade nyinaa a, na ɔbra bɛn na ɛsɛ sɛ wobɔ? Ɛsɛ sɛ mo bra yɛ kronkron na mode mo ho ma Onyankopɔn.
Now since all things are in the process of dissolution, what kind of men ought you to be, in all holy living and piety;
12 Monhwɛ saa da no kwan na monyɛ mo nneɛma pɛpɛɛpɛ; da a Onyankopɔn bɛto ɔsoro mu gya na wim nneɛma anan na ayera wɔ ogyaframa mu no.
while you look for and hasten the coming of the Day of God. At its coming the heavens, being on fire, will be dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt with fervent heat.
13 Nanso yɛtwɛn nea Onyankopɔn ahyɛ yɛn ho bɔ no, ɔsoro foforo ne asase foforo a ɛhɔ na trenee bɛtena.
But according to his promise, we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness makes her dwelling.
14 Enti anuanom, mugu so retwɛn da no, mommɔ mmɔden sɛ mobɛyɛ kronkron a mfomso biara nni mo ho wɔ Onyankopɔn anim na mo ne no atena wɔ asomdwoe mu.
And so, beloved, since you are looking for these things, continually give diligence that you may be found in peace, unspotted and blameless in his sight.
15 Monkae nhu sɛ Awurade wɔ ntoboase efisɛ ɔpɛ sɛ obiara nya nkwagye. Ɛno na yɛn nua Paulo nam nyansa a Onyankopɔn de maa no no so kyerɛw mo no.
Regard our Lord’s longsuffering as salvation; even as our dear brother Paul also wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him.
16 Saa ɔkwan koro no ara so na ɔfa kyerɛw ne nkrataa no na saa nsɛm yi ara so nso na ogyina kyerɛwee. Wɔn a wonnim na wɔnnyɛ den no ntumi nkyerɛ nsɛm bi a ɛyɛ den wɔ ne nkrataa no mu no ase yiye. Saa ara na wɔyɛ Kyerɛwsɛm nkae no de ɔsɛe ba wɔn so no.
It is the same in all his letters when he speaks of these things. There are indeed some things in his letters hard to understand, which the ignorant and the shifty wrest, as also they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
17 Nanso anuanom, esiane sɛ wɔadi kan abɔ mo kɔkɔ no nti, monwɛn na wɔn a wonni mmara so no mfomso no antwe mo amfi mo tebea pa hɔ.
Do you therefore, beloved, because you know these things beforehand, be on your guard lest you be led astray by the error of the wicked, and so fall from your own stedfastness.
18 Munyin wɔ yɛn Awurade ne Agyenkwa Yesu Kristo dom ne nimdeɛ mu. Ɔno na anuonyam nka no mprempren ne daa. Amen. (aiōn g165)
But grow continually in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and unto the Day of Eternity, Amen. (aiōn g165)
