< 1 Timoteo 5 >
1 Nka akwakoraa anim, na mmom hyɛ no nkuran sɛnea wobɛyɛ ama wʼagya. Sɛnea wobɛyɛ wo nuabarima no saa ara na fa yɛ mmabun,
Rebuke not an elder, but entreat [him] as a father; [and] the younger men as brethren;
2 yɛ mmea mpanyimfo sɛ wo nanom, na mmabaa nso, fa wɔn sɛ wo nuabeanom wɔ kronkronyɛ mu.
The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
3 Ma wʼani nku mmea akunafo a wonni ahwɛfo ho.
Honor widows that are widows indeed.
4 Sɛ okunafo bi wɔ mma anaa nananom a, nea edi kan no ɛsɛ sɛ wɔfa nyamesom pa so de som wɔn abusua de tua wɔn awofo ne wɔn nenanom ka, efisɛ sɛ wɔyɛ saa a na ɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani.
But if any widow hath children or nephews, let them learn first to show piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
5 Ɔbea a ɔyɛ okunafo ampa ara no a onni obi a ɔhwɛ no no de nʼanidaso nyinaa ahyɛ Onyankopɔn mu, enti ɔkɔ so bɔ mpae srɛ ne mmoa anadwo ne awia.
Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
6 Nanso sɛ okunafo bi de ne ho ma wiase a, na ɔyɛ teaseawu.
But she that liveth in pleasure, is dead while she liveth.
7 Ka saa mmara yi kyerɛ wɔn na obi annya wo ho mfomso.
And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
8 Na sɛ obi nhwɛ ne fifo, ne titiriw no, ɔno ara nʼabusuafo a, na wabu ne gyidi so. Sɛ ɛba saa a, ɔyɛ onipa bɔne sen nea onnye nni no.
But if any provideth not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
9 Mfa okunafo biara a onni mmoroo mfe aduosia no din nka akunafo din ho. Asɛm a ɛka ho ne sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ obi a wadi ne kunu nokware,
Let not a widow be taken into the number under sixty years old, having been the wife of one man.
Well reported of for good works; if she hath brought up children, if she hath lodged strangers, if she hath washed the saints' feet, if she hath relieved the afflicted, if she hath diligently followed every good work.
11 Mfa akunafo nkumaa no din nka wɔn ho. Efisɛ sɛ ɛba sɛ wɔpɛ sɛ wɔsan ware a, wɔtew wɔn ho fi Kristo ho
But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to grow wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12 na ɛma wodi fɔ sɛ wɔabu wɔn bɔhyɛ a edi kan no so.
Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13 Ɛno akyi, wɔsɛe wɔn bere kɔ afi mu na nea enye koraa ne sɛ wodi nseku yɛ pɛrepɛre, ka nsɛm a anka ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔka.
And at the same time they learn [to be] idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle, but tattlers also, and busy-bodies, speaking things which they ought not.
14 Enti me pɛ ne sɛ, akunafo nkumaa no bɛware, awo mma na wɔahwɛ wɔn afi sɛnea ɛbɛyɛ a atamfo nnya wɔn ho kwan nka nsɛm ntia wɔn.
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 Akunafo bi de wɔn ho ama ɔbonsam dedaw.
For some are already turned aside after Satan.
16 Sɛ ɔbea gyidini bi wɔ akunafo wɔ nʼabusua mu a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhwɛ wɔn yiye na wɔamfa adesoa bi ammɛto asafo no so na asafo no atumi ahwɛ akunafo a aka wɔn nko no.
If any man or woman that believeth hath widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
17 Mpanyimfo a wɔhwɛ asafo no so yiye no, ɛsɛ sɛ wodwen wɔn ho na wɔde nidi mmɔho ma wɔn; ne titiriw no wɔn a wɔka asɛm no na wɔsan kyerɛkyerɛ nso.
Let the elders that rule well, be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.
18 Efisɛ Kyerɛwsɛm no ka se, “Nkyekyere nantwi a osiw aburow no ano!” Bio, “Odwumayɛni akatua fata no!”
For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The laborer [is] worthy of his reward.
19 Ntie asɛmmɔne a obi ka to ɔpanyin bi so no, gye sɛ nnansefo baanu anaa baasa de saa asɛm no bɛto wʼanim.
Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
20 Wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne nyinaa no, ka wɔn anim wɔ bagua mu na abɔ afoforo hu.
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21 Migyina Onyankopɔn ne Kristo Yesu ne abɔfo kronkron anim ka se, di saa mmara a mahyɛ wo yi nyinaa so a nhwɛanim biara nni mu.
I charge [thee] before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
22 Ntutu mmirika mfa wo nsa ngu obi so wɔ Awurade dwumadi no mu. Twe wo ho fi bɔne a afoforo yɛ ho. Yɛ kronn.
Impose hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
23 Nnom nsu nko ara, na mmom wo yafunu ne wo yare a wotaa yare nti, ɛyɛ a nom bobesa kakraa bi.
Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thy frequent infirmities.
24 Nnipa bi bɔne a wɔyɛ no da adi pefee na saa bɔne no di wɔn anim de wɔn kɔ atemmu mu, nanso afoforo bi wɔ hɔ a wɔn bɔne da adi akyiri no.
Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment: and some [men] they follow after.
25 Saa ara nso na nneyɛe payɛ no da adi pefee. Na nea ɛnna adi pefee no mpo ntumi nhintaw.
Likewise also the good works [of some] are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
