1 Anuanom, mo ankasa munim sɛ sra a yɛbɛsraa mo no anyɛ ɔkwa.
For you have known, brothers, that our entrance to you has not been in vain,
2 Munim ayayade a wɔyɛɛ yɛn ne ɔyaw a wɔyaw yɛn wɔ Filipi ansa na yɛreba mo nkyɛn wɔ Tesalonika no. Ɛwɔ mu sɛ na nnipa bi tia yɛn de, nanso yɛn Nyankopɔn hyɛɛ yɛn den ma yɛkaa Asɛmpa a efi ne mu no.
but having both suffered before, and having been mistreated (as you have known) in Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak to you the good news of God in much conflict,
3 Asɛmpa a yɛka kyerɛɛ mo no mfi adwemmɔne anaa nnaadaa mu, na mmom, nea yɛkae no yɛ nokware turodoo.
for our exhortation [is] not out of deceit, nor out of uncleanness, nor in guile,
4 Daa yɛka nokware, sɛnea Onyankopɔn hwehwɛ yɛn sɛ yɛnka no, efisɛ ɔpene so na ɔde Asɛmpa no nso ama yɛn sɛ yɛnka. Yɛmpɛ sɛ yɛsɔ nnipa ani, na mmom Onyankopɔn a ɔsɔ yɛn adwene hwɛ no ani na yɛpɛ sɛ yɛsɔ.
but as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the good news, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God, who is proving our hearts,
5 Munim pefee sɛ yɛamma ha sɛ yɛrebɛka nnaadaasɛm akyerɛ mo anaasɛ yɛde sikanibere rebɛkata yɛn ani akasa. Onyankopɔn ne yɛn danseni.
for at no time did we come with speech of flattery (as you have known), nor in a pretext for covetousness (God [is] witness),
6 Sɛ moyɛ Kristo asomafo no nti, anka yɛwɔ ho kwan sɛ yɛpɛ anuonyam fi mo nkyɛn, nanso yemmisaa anuonyam mfii mo anaasɛ onipa foforo bi nkyɛn ɛ.
nor seeking glory from men, neither from you nor from others, being able to be burdensome, as Christ’s apostles.
7 Yɛwɔ mo nkyɛn no, na yɛne mo te odwo so, sɛnea ɔbeatan kokɔ ne mma.
But we became gentle in your midst, as a nurse may nurture her own children,
8 Yɛhwɛɛ mo yiye, nyaa mo ho anigye sononko; mpo yɛdaa yɛn ho so sɛ yɛde yɛn nkwa bɛto hɔ ama mo, bere a yɛde Onyankopɔn Asɛmpa no brɛɛ mo no.
so being desirous of you, we are well-pleased to impart to you not only the good news of God, but also our own souls, because you have become beloved to us,
9 Anuanom, minim sɛ mokae adwuma a yɛyɛɛ ne brɛ a yɛbrɛe. Yɛyɛɛ adwuma awia ne anadwo; sɛnea Onyankopɔn Asɛmpa no ka na yɛka kyerɛɛ mo no, yɛremfa ɔhaw bi mmɛto mo so.
for you remember, brothers, our labor and travail, for working night and day not to be a burden on any of you, we preached the good news of God to you;
10 Mo ne Onyankopɔn yɛ yɛn nnansefo. Yɛn suban a yɛdaa no adi kyerɛɛ mo a mugyee Asɛmpa no dii no yɛ kronkron a eye na mfomso biara nni ho.
you [are] witnesses—God also—how piously and righteously and blamelessly we became to you who believe,
11 Mo ara munim sɛ yɛne mo tenaa sɛnea agya ne nʼankasa mma tena.
even as you have known how we are exhorting each one of you, as a father his own children, and comforting, and testifying,
12 Yɛhyɛɛ mo nkuran; yɛkyekyee mo werɛ na yɛkɔɔ so tuu mo fo sɛ montena ase wɔ ɔkwan a ɛsɔ Onyankopɔn a ɔfrɛ mo wɔ nʼahenni ne nʼanuonyam mu no so.
for your walking worthily of God, who is calling you to His own kingdom and glory.
13 Daa yɛbɛda Onyankopɔn ase wɔ saa asɛm yi ho. Bere a yɛkaa Onyankopɔn asɛm kyerɛɛ mo no, mutie gye dii sɛ ɛnyɛ asɛm a efi onipa nkyɛn, na mmom ampa ara sɛ efi Onyankopɔn nkyɛn. Mo a moagye adi no Onyankopɔn yɛ adwuma wɔ mo mu.
And because of this we also continually give thanks to God, that, having received the word of God [by] your hearing from us, you accepted, not the word of men, but as it truly is, the word of God, who also works in you who believe;
14 Anuanom, nsɛm a ɛtotoo Onyankopɔn asafo a na ɛwowɔ Yudea ne nnipa a wɔwɔ hɔ a na wɔyɛ Kristo Yesu nkurɔfo no bi ara na ato mo yi. Ɔtaa a mo ara mo manfo taa mo no bi na Yudafo a
for you became imitators, brothers, of the assemblies of God that are in Judea in Christ Jesus, because you suffered such things, even you, from your own countrymen, as they also from the Jews,

forbidding us to speak to the nations that they might be saved, so as to always fill up their sins, but [God’s] anger came on them—to the end!
17 Anuanom, yɛantumi amma mo nkyɛn wɔ bere tiaa bi mu, nanso bere biara na yɛdwene mo ho. Yɛpɛɛ sɛ yehu mo, na yɛbɔɔ mmɔden biara sɛ yebehyia mo ankasa.
And we, brothers, having been taken from you for the space of an hour—in presence, not in heart—hurried more abundantly to see your face in much desire;
18 Yɛpɛɛ sɛ yɛbɛsan aba mo nkyɛn. Me Paulo de, na mepɛ sɛ meba hɔ boro pɛnkoro nanso ɔbonsam siw yɛn ho kwan.
for this reason we wished to come to you (I, indeed, Paul), both once and again, and Satan hindered us;
19 Nanso dɛn ne yɛn anidaso, anigye, anaa ahenkyɛw a ɛbɛma yɛn anuonyam wɔ Awurade Yesu anim bere a ɔbɛsan aba no? Ɛnyɛ mo ana?
for what [is] our hope, or joy, or garland of rejoicing? Are not even you before our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
20 Nokware ni, yɛn ahohoahoa ne yɛn ahosɛpɛw gyina mo so.
For you are our glory and joy.
