< 1 Ahemfo 19 >

1 Bere a Ahab duu fie no, ɔkaa nea Elia ayɛ nyinaa ne sɛnea wakunkum Baal adiyifo nyinaa no kyerɛɛ Isebel.
And Achaab told Jezabel his wife all that Eliu [had] done, and how he [had] slain the prophets with the sword.
2 Enti Isebel de saa nkra yi kɔmaa Elia se, “Sɛ ɔkyena sesɛɛ na minkum wo, sɛnea woakum nkurɔfo yi a, anyame no nkum me bi.”
And Jezabel sent to Eliu, and said, If you are Eliu and I am Jezabel, God do so to me, and more also, if I do not make your life by this time to-morrow as the life of one of them.
3 Elia tee nkra no, osuroe, enti oguan de peree ne ti. Ɔkɔɔ kurow bi a ɛwɔ Yuda a wɔfrɛ no Beer-Seba, gyaw ne somfo wɔ hɔ,
And Eliu feared, and rose, and departed for his life: and he comes to Bersabee [to] the land of Juda, and he left his servant there.
4 na nʼankasa nantew da mu nyinaa kɔɔ sare so. Ɔkɔtenaa dutan bi a na ayɛ frɔmfrɔm ase, na ɔbɔɔ mpae sɛ anka onwu. Ɔkae se, “Nea mahu no ara dɔɔ me so, Awurade. Twa me nkwa so na minnye nsen mʼagyanom.”
And he himself went a day's journey in the wilderness, and came and sat under a juniper tree; and asked concerning his life that he might die, and said, Let it be enough now, O Lord, take, I pray you, my life from me; for I am no better than my fathers.
5 Na ɔdaa dua no ase. Na ne nna mu no, ɔbɔfo bɛkaa no, ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Sɔre na didi.”
And he lay down and slept there under a tree; and behold, some one touched him, and said to him, Arise and eat.
6 Ɔhwɛɛ ne ho hyia huu brodo bi a wɔato no nnyansramma so, ne kuruwa a nsu wɔ mu. Enti odidii, nom nsu no, san daa bio.
And Eliu looked, and, behold, at his head there was a cake of meal and a cruse of water; and he arose, and ate and drank, and returned and lay down.
7 Na Awurade bɔfo no san baa bio bɛkaa no kae se, “Sɔre na didi pii ka ho, na ɔkwan a ɛda wʼanim no ware.”
And the angel of the Lord returned again, and touched him, and said to him, Arise, and eat, for the journey [is] far from you.
8 Enti ɔsɔre didi nomee. Aduan no maa no nyaa ahoɔden a ɔde betwa kwan adaduanan, awia ne anadwo akɔ Horeb a ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn bepɔw no so.
And he arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights to mount Choreb.
9 Okoduu ɔbodan bi ho, na ɔdaa mu anadwo no. Na Awurade bisaa no se, “Elia, dɛn na woreyɛ wɔ ha?”
And he entered there into a cave, and rested there; and, behold, the word of the Lord [came] to him, and he said, What [do] you here, Eliu?
10 Elia buae se, “Mede ahoɔden asom Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn. Nanso Israelfo abu apam a wɔne wo hyehyɛe no so, nam so abubu wʼafɔremuka nyinaa, akunkum wʼadiyifo a anka obiara. Me nko ara na maka, nanso wɔrehwehwɛ me akum me nso.”
And Eliu said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the children of Israel have forsaken you: they have digged down your altars, and have slain your prophets with the sword; and I only am left alone, and they seek my life to take it.
11 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Fi adi kogyina mʼanim wɔ bepɔw no so.” Na bere a Elia gyina hɔ no, Awurade bɛfaa hɔ, na mframa dennen bi bɔ sii bepɔw no mu. Na mframa no ano den no twitwaa abotan no mu. And he said, You shall go forth to-morrow, and shall stand before the Lord in the mount; behold, the Lord will pass by. And, behold, a great [and] strong wind rending the mountains, and crushing the rocks before the Lord; [but] the Lord [was] not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake; [but] the Lord [was] not in the earthquake:
12 Na asasewosow no akyi, ogya puei. Nanso na Awurade nni ogya no mu. Na ogya no akyi, nne bi a ɛyɛ bɔkɔɔ te sɛ nea wɔde ka asomsɛm bae.
and after the earthquake a fire; [but] the Lord [was] not in the fire: and after the fire the voice of a gentle breeze.

And it came to pass when Eliu heard, that he wrapt his face in his mantle, and went forth and stood in the cave: and, behold, a voice [came] to him and said, What [do] you here, Eliu?
14 Obuaa bio se, “Mede ahoɔden asom Asafo Awurade Nyankopɔn. Nanso Israelfo abu apam a wɔne wo hyehyɛe no so, nam so abubu wʼafɔremuka nyinaa, akunkum wʼadiyifo a anka obiara. Me nko ara na maka, nanso wɔrehwehwɛ me akum me nso.”
And Eliu said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, and they have overthrown your altars, and have slain your prophets with the sword! and I am left entirely alone, and they seek my life to take it.
15 Na Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no se, “San wʼakyi kɔ faako a wufi bae, na kɔ Damasko sare so. Na sɛ wudu hɔ a, sra Hasael ngo, si no Aramhene.
And the Lord said to him, Go, return, and you shall come into the way of the wilderness of Damascus: and you shall go and anoint Azael to be king over Syria.

17 Obiara a obeguan afi Hasael ho no, Yehu bekum no, na obiara a obeguan afi Yehu ho nso no, Elisa bekum no.
And it shall come to pass, that him that escapes from the sword of Azael, Ju shall kill; and him that escapes from the sword of Ju, Elisaie shall kill.
18 Eyinom akyi no, mɛbɔ nnipa afoforo mpem ason bi a wɔwɔ Israel a wɔnkotow Baal, mfew nʼano da, no ho ban.”
And you shall leave in Israel seven thousand men, all the knees which had not bowed themselves to Baal, and every mouth which had not worshipped him.
19 Na Elia fii hɔ kɔ kohuu Safat babarima Elisa, na ɔde anantwi mpamho dumien refuntum afuw a nʼankasa reka mpamho a ɛto so dumien no. Elia kɔɔ ne nkyɛn kɔtow nʼatade guu ne so.
And he departed thence, and finds Elisaie the son of Saphat, and he was plowing with oxen; [there were] twelve yoke before him, and he with the twelve, and he passed by to him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20 Elisa gyaw anantwi no hɔ, tuu mmirika dii Elia akyi, ka kyerɛɛ no se, “Ma menkɔkra mʼagya ne me na ansa na me ne wo akɔ.” Elia buae se, “San kɔ. Dɛn na mayɛ wo?”
And Elisaie left the cattle, and ran after Eliu and said, I will kiss my father, and follow after you. And Eliu said, Return, for I have done [a work] for you.
21 Afei, Elisa san kɔɔ anantwi no ho kokunkum wɔn. Ɔde funtumfiri no ho nnua no yɛɛ nnyansin de noaa nam no de maa mmarima no ma wɔwee. Afei ɔkɔ kodii Elia akyi ma ɔbɛyɛɛ ne somfo.
And he returned from following him, and took a yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled them with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate: and he arose, and went after Eliu, and ministered to him.
