1 Yeroboam dii ade wɔ Israel ne mfe dunwɔtwe so no, Abiyam bɛyɛɛ Yudahene.
And in the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam son of Nabat, Abiu son of Roboam reigns over Juda.
2 Odii hene wɔ Yerusalem mfe abiɛsa. Na ne na din de Maaka a ɔyɛ Absalom babea.
And he reigned three years over Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Maacha, daughter of Abessalom.
3 Nʼagya bɔne a ɔyɛe nyinaa no, ɔyɛɛ bi. Na ne koma nni Awurade ne Nyankopɔn mu; wansɛ ne nena Dawid.
And he walked in the sins of his father which he wrought in his presence, and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as [was] the heart of his father [David].
4 Nanso esiane Dawid nti, Awurade, ne Nyankopɔn maa nʼasefo kwan ma wɔkɔɔ so dii ade, na ɔmaa Abiyam ɔbabarima a obedi nʼade wɔ Yerusalem.
Howbeit for David's sake the Lord gave him a remnant, that he might establish his children after him, and might establish Jerusalem.
5 Na Dawid ayɛ nea eye wɔ Awurade ani so. Odii Awurade ahyɛde so ne nkwa nna nyinaa, gye Hetini Uria no ho asɛm no nko ara.
Forasmuch as David did that which was right in the sight of the Lord: he turned not from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life.
6 Abiyam nkwa nna mu nyinaa, na akokoakoko da ɔno ne Yeroboam ntam.
7 Nsɛm a aka a esisii wɔ Abiyam ahenni mu ne nea ɔyɛe no, wɔankyerɛw wɔ Yuda Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana? Ɔko daa Abiyam ne Yeroboam ntam bere biara.
And the rest of the history of Abiu, and all that he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda? And there was war between Abiu and Jeroboam.
8 Na Abiyam wui no, wosiee no wɔ Dawid kuropɔn mu. Na ne babarima Asa dii nʼade sɛ ɔhene.
And Abiu slept with his fathers in the twenty-fourth year of Jeroboam; and he is buried with his fathers in the city of David: And Asa his son reigns in his stead.
9 Yeroboam dii hene wɔ Israel ne mfe aduonu so no, Asa bedii hene wɔ Yuda.
In the four and twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa begins to reign over Juda.
10 Odii hene Yerusalem mfe aduanan baako. Na wɔfrɛ ne nenabea Maaka a na ɔyɛ Absalom babea.
And he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Ana, daughter of Abessalom.
11 Asa yɛɛ nea ɛsɔ Awurade ani, sɛnea ne nena Dawid yɛe no.
And Asa did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, as David his father.
12 Ɔpam nsɔree so so nguamanfo nyinaa fii asase no so, na oyiyii ahoni a nʼagyanom yɛe no nyinaa.
And he removed the sodomites out of the land, and abolished all the practices which his fathers had kept up.
13 Na mpo, otuu ne nenabea Maaka fii ahemmeagua no so, efisɛ na wayɛ Asera ahoni dua a na ɛyɛ akyiwade. Asa twaa dua no na ɔhyew no wɔ Kidron bon mu.
And he removed Ana his mother from being queen, forasmuch as she gathered a meeting in her grove: and Asa cut down her retreats, and burnt them with fire in the brook of Kedron.
14 Ɛwɔ mu sɛ wɔantutu abosonsom nsɔre so no nyinaa amfi Israel de, nanso Asa kɔɔ so de ne koma hyɛɛ Awurade mu nʼasetena nyinaa mu.
But he removed not the high places; nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with the Lord all his days.

And he brought in the pillars of his father, he even brought in his gold and silver pillars into the house of the Lord, and [his] vessels.
16 Na akokoakoko wɔ Yudahene Asa ne Israelhene Baasa ntam.
And there was war between Asa and Baasa king of Israel all their days.
17 Israelhene Baasa kɔko tiaa Yuda, na ɔmaa Rama bammɔ sɛnea obi ntumi nni ahyɛmfiri wɔ Yudahene Asa asase so.
And Baasa king of Israel went up against Juda, and built Rama, so that no one should go out or come in for Asa king of Juda.
18 Asa tasee dwetɛ ne sikakɔkɔɔ no a ɛkaa wɔ Awurade Asɔredan no adekoradan mu ne nea na ɛwɔ ahemfi no adekoradan no mu. Ɔde hyɛɛ ne mpanyimfo no mu bi nsa, na ɔsomaa wɔn ma wɔkɔɔ Hesion babarima Tabrimon babarima Siriahene Ben-Hadad a na odi hene wɔ Damasko no nkyɛn, na ɔde saa nsɛm yi kaa ho:
And Asa took all the silver and the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into the hands of his servants; and king Asa sent them out to the son of Ader, the son of Taberema son of Azin king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

Make a covenant between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: lo! I have sent forth to thee gold and silver [for] gifts: come, break thy league with Baasa king of Israel, that he may go up from me.
20 Ben-Hadad penee ɔhene Asa abisade no so, na ɔsomaa nʼakofo, ma wɔkɔtow hyɛɛ Israel so. Wodii nkurow Iyon, Dan, Abel-Bet-Maaka ne Kineret a Naftali nsase nyinaa ka ho no so.
And the son of Ader hearkened to king Asa, and sent the chiefs of his forces to the cities of Israel; and they smote Ain, Dan, and Abel of the house of Maacha, and all Chennereth, as far as the whole land of Nephthali.
21 Na Israelhene Baasa tee asɛm a asi no, ogyaee nʼadwuma a na ɔreyɛ de abɔ Rama ho ban no, kɔɔ Tirsa kɔtenaa hɔ.
And it came to pass when Baasa heard it, that he left off building Rama, and returned to Thersa.
22 Afei, ɔhene Asa soma kɔɔ Yuda mmaa nyinaa, kɔkaa se ɔhwehwɛ sɛ obiara bɛboa asoa adansi abo ne nnua a na Baasa de reyɛ bammɔdwuma wɔ Rama no afi hɔ. Asa de saa bammɔ nneɛma no kyekyeree kurow Geba a ɛwɔ Benyamin ne Mispa nso.
And king Asa charged all Juda without exception: and they take up the stones of Rama and its timbers [with] which Baasa was building; and king Asa built with them upon the whole hill of Benjamin, and the watch-tower.
23 Asa ahenni ho nsɛm nkae ne nea ne tumi kodui no, ne nkurow a ɔkyekyeree no nyinaa din no, wɔankyerɛw angu Yuda Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana? Mmom, ne nkwakorabɔ mu no, ɔyaree ne nan.
And the rest of the history of Asa, and all his mighty deeds which he wrought, and the cities which he built, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24 Bere a Asa wui no, wosiee no nʼagyanom nkyɛn wɔ Dawid kuropɔn mu. Na ne babarima Yehosafat bedii nʼade sɛ ɔhene.
And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Josaphat his son reigns in his stead.
25 Yeroboam babarima Nadab fii ase dii ade wɔ Israel bere a na ɔhene Asa adi ade wɔ Yuda mfe abien mu. Odii ade wɔ Israel mfe abien.
And Nabat son of Jeroboam reigns over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Juda, and he reigned two years in Israel.
26 Na ɔyɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Odii nʼagya anammɔn akyi, toaa so yɛɛ bɔne, som abosom sɛnea na Yeroboam adi Israel anim ama wɔayɛ no.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sins wherein he caused Israel to sin.
27 Na Ahiya babarima Baasa a ofi Isakar abusuakuw mu no pam Nadab ti so, kum no bere a na ɔne Israel asraafo akyere nsraban, retua Filistifo kurow Gibeton ano no.
And Baasa son of Achia, [who was] over the house of Belaan son of Achia, conspired against him, and smote him in Gabathon of the Philistines; for Nabat and all Israel were besieging Gabathon.
28 Baasa kum Nadab wɔ ɔhene Asa adedi wɔ Yuda mfe abiɛsa mu no so, na ɔbɛyɛɛ Israelhene a odi hɔ.
And Baasa slew him in the third year of Asa son of Asa king of Juda; and reigned in his stead.
29 Ntɛm ara, okunkum ɔhene Yeroboam asefo nyinaa a adehye abusua no mu baako koraa anka, sɛnea Awurade nam odiyifo Ahiya a ofi Silo ahyɛ bɔ afa Yeroboam ho no.
And it came to pass when he reigned, that he smote the whole house of Jeroboam, and left none that breathed of Jeroboam, until he has destroyed him utterly, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke by his servant Achia the Selonite,
30 Saa asɛm yi sii, efisɛ Yeroboam di a odii Israel anim ma wɔyɛɛ bɔne no hyɛɛ Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn abufuw.
for the sins of Jeroboam, who led Israel into sin, even by his provocation wherewith he provoked the Lord God of Israel.
31 Nadab ahenni ho nsɛm nkae ne dwuma a odii nyinaa no, wɔankyerɛw angu Israel Ahemfo Abakɔsɛm Nhoma no mu ana?
And the rest of the history of Nabat, and all that he did, behold, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
32 Na akokoakoko wɔ Asa ne Israelhene Baasa ntam.
[And there was a war between Asa and Baasa king of Israel in all their days. ]
33 Ahiya ba Baasa fii ase dii Israel so wɔ ɔhene Asa adedi wɔ Yuda no mfe abiɛsa mu. Baasa dii ade fii Tirsa mfe aduonu anan.
And in the third year of Asa king of Juda, Baasa the son of Achia begins to reign over Israel in Thersa, twenty and four years.
34 Na ɔyɛɛ bɔne wɔ Awurade ani so. Odii Yeroboam anammɔn akyi, som abosom, sɛnea Yeroboam dii Israel anim yɛe no.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, and in his sins, as he caused Israel to sin.
