< 1 Beresosɛm 23 >

1 Bere a Dawid bɔɔ akwakoraa no, oyii ne babarima Salomo sɛ ɔno na obedi Israel so hene.
And when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
2 Dawid frɛfrɛɛ Israel amanyɛ ntuanofo nyinaa ne asɔfo, a Lewifo ka ho sɛ, wɔmmra ahensi afahyɛ no ase.
And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
3 Wɔkan Lewifo a wɔadi mfirihyia aduasa anaa nea ɛboro saa, na wɔn nyinaa dodow yɛ mpem aduasa awotwe.
And then were numbered the Levites from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, of men, was thirty and eight thousand.
4 Na Dawid kae se, “Wɔn mu mpem aduonu anan bɛhwɛ Awurade Asɔredan no ho adwuma so. Mpem asia bɛsom sɛ mpanyimfo ne atemmufo.
Of these were twenty and four thousand to superintend the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand were officers and judges;
5 Mpem anan bɛyɛ apon ano hwɛfo na mpem anan foforo de nnwontode a mayɛ no bɛkamfo Awurade.”
And four thousand were gatekeepers: and four thousand those who praised the Lord with the instruments which I have made, to praise therewith.
6 Na Dawid kyekyɛɛ Lewifo no mu akuwakuw de mmusuakuw a wɔyɛ Lewi mmabarima Gerson, Kohat ne Merari asefo no din totoo wɔn so.
And David divided them into divisions after the sons of Levi, after Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
7 Gerson mmabarima ne: Libni ne Simei.
Of the Gershunites: La'dan, and Shim'i.
8 Libni asefo no mu baasa yɛ Yehiel (a ɔyɛ abusuapanyin), Setam ne Yoel.
The sons of La'dan: The chief was Jechiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
The sons of Shim'i: Shelomith, and Chaziel, and Haran, three. These were the chiefs of the families of La'dan.
10 Simei asefo baanan a wɔaka no ne Yahat, Sisa, Yeus ne Beria.
And the sons of Shim'i were, Jachath, Zina, and Je'ush, and Beri'ah. These four were the sons of Shim'i.
And Jachath was the chief, and Zizah the second; but Je'ush and Beri'ah had not many sons: therefore were they accounted as one family division in the numbering.
12 Na Amram, Ishar, Hebron ne Usiel ka Kohat asefo no ho.
The sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, Hebron, and 'Uzziel, four.
The sons of 'Amram, Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was set apart, to sanctify him as most holy, he with his sons for ever, to burn incense before the Lord, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name for ever.
But as regardeth Moses the man of God, his sons were named after the tribe of Levi.
15 Mose mmabarima no yɛ Gersom ne Elieser.
The sons of Moses were, Gershom, and Eli'ezer.
16 Na Sebuel a ɔyɛ abusuapanyin no ka Gersom asefo no ho.
Of the sons of Gershom, Shebuel was the chief.
17 Na Elieser wɔ ɔbabarima baako a wɔfrɛ no Rehabia a na ɔyɛ abusuapanyin. Na Rehabia asefo yɛ bebree.
And the sons of Eli'ezer were, Rechahyah the chief. And Eli'ezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rechahyah became exceedingly numerous.
18 Na Selomit a ɔyɛ abusuapanyin no ka Ishar asefo no ho.
Of the sons of Yizhar, was Shelomith the chief.
19 Na Yeria a ɔyɛ abusuapanyin, Amaria a odi hɔ, Yahasiel a ɔto so abiɛsa ne Yekameam a ɔto so anan no ne Hebron asefo no.
The sons of Hebron: Jeriyahu the chief, Amaryah the second, Jachaziel the third, and Jekam'am the fourth.
20 Na Mika a ɔyɛ abusuapanyin ne Yisia a odi hɔ no yɛ Usiel asefo no.
The sons of 'Uzziel: Michah the chief, and Yishiyah the second.
The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. The sons of Machli: El'azar, and Kish.
22 (Eleasar wui a wanwo mmabarima biara, na mmom mmabea nko ara. Ne mmabea no wareware wɔn nuanom a wɔyɛ Kis mmabarima.)
And El'azar died, and had no sons, but daughters; and the sons of Kish, their brethren, took them [for wives].
23 Musi mmabarima baasa no din de Mahli, Eder ne Yeremot.
The sons of Mushi: Machli, and 'Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
24 Eyinom na na wɔn mmusua nti wɔyɛ Lewi asefo, na wɔyɛ wɔn mmusua akuw no ntuanofo a na wɔahwɛ akyerɛw wɔn din. Na ɛsɛ sɛ wɔn mu biara di mfirihyia aduonu anaa nea ɛboro saa, ansa na waso Awurade fi som.
These were the sons of Levi after their family divisions, even the chiefs of the families, as they were counted by numbering the names after their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
For David said, The Lord the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for evermore.
26 Afei, ɛho nhia sɛ Lewifo no bɛsoa Ahyiae Ntamadan no ne ne nkuku ne ne nkaka de adi atutena.”
And also the Levites are no more bound to carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels for the service thereof.
27 Sɛnea Dawid no ara akwankyerɛ a etwa to no se no, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkyerɛw Lewifo a wɔadi mfirihyia aduonu ne nea ɛboro saa nyinaa din ma ɔsom.
Therefore by the last words of David were there numbered of the Levites those who were from twenty years old and above;
28 Na Lewifo no adwuma ne sɛ, wɔbɛboa asɔfo no a wɔyɛ Aaron asefo no wɔ ɔsom nnwuma a wɔyɛ wɔ Awurade fi no mu. Afei, wɔbɛhwɛ adiwo ne adan a ɛwɔ nkyɛn nkyɛn no so. Na wɔbɛboa ahodwira nnwuma mu, na wɔasom akwan ahorow so wɔ Onyankopɔn fi.
Because their station was to be at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts, and in the chambers, and by the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
29 Na wɔhwɛ brodo kronkron a wɔkora no didipon so no, asikresiam a wɔayam no muhumuhu a wɔde bɔ aduan afɔre, tetare a mmɔkaw nni mu, ɔfam a wɔde ngo dua srade akyew ne brodo afoforo a wɔde afrafra no so. Afei, na wɔn asɛde bi nso ne sɛ, wɔhwɛ nsania ne susudua nso so.
And for the shew-bread, which was put in rows, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for that which is baked in the pan, and for that which is sodden, and for all manner of dry and wet measure;
30 Na anɔpa ne anwummere biara nso, wogyina Awurade anim to aseda ne nkamfo nnwom ma no.
And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and so also at evening,
31 Wɔboa ɔhyew afɔre a wɔbɔ ma Awurade homeda ahorow mu wɔ Ɔsram Foforo Afahyɛ mu ne nnapɔnna nyinaa ho dwumadi mu. Bere biara, na Lewifo dodow a wɔfata wɔ hɔ a wɔsom wɔ Awurade anim.
And at all the offering of burnt-offerings unto the Lord on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the appointed feasts, according to the number, and after the manner prescribed for them, continually before the Lord;
32 Ɛno nti, Lewifo no a na wɔsom wɔ Ahyiae Ntamadan no mu kɔɔ so som wɔ Asɔredan no mu. Na wɔde nokwaredi yɛɛ wɔn som no nnwuma wɔ Awurade fi.
And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the Lord.
