1 Afei, Tirohene Huram somaa abɔfo ne abo adansifo ne nnua dwumfo kɔɔ Dawid nkyɛn sɛ, wonkosi ahemfi mma no. Afei, Huram san de sida nnua a wɔbɛpae kɔe.
And Chiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timbers, and masons, and carpenters, to build a house for him.
2 Na Dawid huu sɛ Awurade de no asi Israel so hene, na esiane Israel nti, wayɛ nʼahenni kɛse.
And David knew that the Lord [had] designed him to be king over Israel; because his kingdom was highly exalted, on account of his people Israel.
3 Afei, Dawid waree mmea bebree wɔ Yerusalem, na ɔwowoo mmabarima ne mmabea bebree.
And David took more wives in Jerusalem: and there were born to David more sons and daughters.
4 Dawid mmabarima a wɔwoo wɔn wɔ Yerusalem no ne Samua, Sobab, Natan ne Salomo,
And these [are] the names of those that were born, who were [born] to him in Jerusalem; Samaa, Sobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5 Yibhar, Elisua, ne Elpelet,
and Baar, and Elisa, and Eliphaleth,
and Nageth, and Naphath, and Japhie,
7 Elisama, Beeliada ne Elifelet.
and Elisamae, and Eliade, and Eliphala.
8 Bere a Filistifo tee sɛ wɔasra Dawid ngo ama wadi Israel nyinaa so hene no, wɔboaboaa wɔn asraafo nyinaa ano sɛ, wɔrebɛkyere no. Na wɔka kyerɛɛ Dawid se wɔreba ne so, enti ɔno nso ne ne mmarima fii kurow no mu kohyiaa wɔn.
And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel: and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [it], and went out to meet them.
9 Na Filistifo no abedu Refaim bon asɛe hɔ pasaa.
And the Philistines came and assembled together in the giants' valley.
10 Enti Dawid bisaa Onyankopɔn se, “Mimpue na me ne Filistifo no nkɔko? Wode wɔn bɛhyɛ me nsa ana?” Awurade buae se, “Yiw, wo ne wɔn nkɔko, na mɛma woadi wɔn so nkonim.”
And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will deliver them into thy hands.
11 Enti Dawid ne nʼakofo kɔɔ Baal-Perasim kodii Filistifo no so wɔ hɔ. Dawid teɛɛ mu se, “Onyankopɔn ayɛ! Ɔnam me so ama mabɔ awura mʼatamfo mu te sɛ, nsuyiri a ano yɛ den.” Enti, wɔtoo beae hɔ din Baal-Perasim (a nkyerɛase ne sɛ “Awurade a ɔbɔ wura mu”).
And he went up to Baal Pharasin, and David smote them there; and David said, God has broken through enemies by my hand like a breach of water: therefore he called the name of that place, the Breach of Pharasin.
12 Filistifo no gyaw wɔn ahoni nyinaa hɔ nti, Dawid hyɛ ma wɔhyew ne nyinaa.
And the Philistines left their gods there; and David gave orders to burn them with fire.
13 Nanso ankyɛ biara, Filistifo no san baa obon no mu bio bɛsɛee hɔ.
And the Philistines once more assembled themselves in the giants' valley.
14 Dawid bisaa Onyankopɔn nea ɔnyɛ bio. Onyankopɔn buae se, “Nkɔ tee nkɔtow nhyɛ wɔn so. Mmom, fa wɔn ho kosi wɔn akyi na montow nhyɛ wɔn so wɔ baabi a ɛbɛn baka nnua no.
And David enquired of God again; and God said to him, Thou shalt not go after them; turn away from them, and thou shalt come upon them near the pear trees.
15 Na sɛ mote nnyigye bi te sɛ nnipa bi a wɔrebɔ nsra anan ase wɔ baka nnua no atifi a, montow nhyɛ wɔn so. Ɛno na ɛbɛyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnne a ɛkyerɛ sɛ, Onyankopɔn adi mo anim rekɔka Filistifo no agu.”
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear the sound of their tumult in the tops of the pear trees, then thou shalt go into the battle: for God has gone out before thee to smite the army of the Philistines.
16 Enti Dawid yɛɛ nea Onyankopɔn hyɛɛ no sɛ ɔnyɛ no, na ɔkaa Filistifo asraafo no guu fi Gibeon de kosii Geser.
And he did as God commanded him: and he smote the army of the Philistines from Gabaon to Gazera.
17 Na Dawid din hyetaa baabiara, na Awurade maa aman no nyinaa suroo Dawid.
And the name of David was [famous] in all the land; and the Lord put the terror of him on all the nations.
