1 Kötü kişi kendisini kovalayan olmasa bile kaçar, Doğrularsa genç aslan gibi yüreklidir.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 Ayaklanan ülke çok başlı olur, Ama akıllı, bilgili kişi düzeni sağlar.
For the transgression of a land many are its princes: but by a man of understanding and knowledge its state shall be prolonged.
3 Yoksulu ezen yoksul, Ürünü harap eden sağanak yağmur gibidir.
A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 Yasayı terk eden kötüyü över, Yerine getirense kötüye karşı çıkar.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Kötüler adaletten anlamaz, RAB'be yönelenlerse her yönüyle anlar.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 Dürüst bir yoksul olmak, Yolsuzlukla zengin olmaktan yeğdir.
Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he is rich.
7 Kutsal Yasa'yı yerine getiren çocuk akıllıdır, Oburlarla arkadaşlık edense babasını utandırır.
He who keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
8 Faiz ve tefecilikle malına mal katan kişi, Bunu yoksullara acıyan için biriktirir.
He that by interest and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10 Dürüst kişileri kötü yola saptıran Kendi kazdığı çukura düşer. İyiliği, özü sözü bir olanlar miras alacak.
Whoever causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11 Zengin kendini bilge sanır, Ama akıllı yoksul onun içini okur.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 Doğruların zaferi coşkuyla kutlanır, Ama kötüler egemen olunca insan kaçacak yer arar.
When righteous men rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13 Günahlarını gizleyen başarılı olmaz, İtiraf edip bırakansa merhamet bulur.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but he who confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14 Günahtan çekinen ne mutludur! İnatçılık edense belaya düşer.
Happy is the man that feareth always: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 Gaddar önderin aklı kıttır; Haksız kazançtan nefret edense uzun ömürlü olur.
The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 Adam öldürmekten vicdan azabı çeken, mezara dek kaçacaktır; Kimse ona yardım etmesin.
A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man sustain him.
18 Alnı ak yaşayan kurtulur, Yolsuzluk yapan ansızın yıkıma uğrar.
He who walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
19 Toprağını işleyenin ekmeği bol olur, Hayal peşinde koşansa yoksulluğa doyar.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
20 Güvenilir kişi bolluğa erer, Zengin olmaya can atansa beladan kurtulamaz.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 Hatır gözetmek iyi değildir, Çünkü insan bir lokma ekmek için bile suç işler.
To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
22 Cimri servet peşinde koşar, Yoksulluğa uğrayacağını düşünmez.
He that hasteneth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
23 Başkasını azarlayan sonunda Pohpohlayandan daha çok beğeni kazanır.
He that rebuketh a man afterward shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 Annesini ya da babasını soymayı günah saymayan, Haydutla birdir.
He that robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 Açgözlü kavga çıkarır, RAB'be güvenense bolluk içinde yaşar.
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 Kendine güvenen akılsızdır, Bilgece davranan güvenlikte olur.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoever walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 Yoksula verenin eksiği olmaz, Yoksulu görmezden gelense bir sürü lanete uğrar.
He that giveth to the poor shall not want: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 Kötüler egemen olunca insan kaçacak yer arar, Ama kötüler yok olunca doğrular çoğalır.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
