Matta 4
1 Bundan sonra İsa, İblis tarafından denenmek üzere Ruh aracılığıyla çöle götürüldü.
Then, Jesus was led up into the wilderness, by the Spirit, to be tempted by the adversary;
2 İsa kırk gün kırk gece oruç tuttuktan sonra acıktı.
and, fasting forty days and forty nights, —afterwards, he hungered.
3 O zaman Ayartıcı yaklaşıp, “Tanrı'nın Oğlu'ysan, söyle şu taşlar ekmek olsun” dedi.
And, coming near, the tempter said to him, —If thou art God’s, Son, speak! that, these stones, may become, loaves.
4 İsa ona şu karşılığı verdi: “‘İnsan yalnız ekmekle yaşamaz, Tanrı'nın ağzından çıkan her sözle yaşar’ diye yazılmıştır.”
But, he, answering, said, It is written, —Not on bread alone, shall man live, but on every declaration coming forth through the mouth of God.
5 Sonra İblis O'nu kutsal kente götürdü. Tapınağın tepesine çıkarıp, “Tanrı'nın Oğlu'ysan, kendini aşağı at” dedi, “Çünkü şöyle yazılmıştır: ‘Tanrı, senin için meleklerine buyruk verecek.’ ‘Ayağın bir taşa çarpmasın diye Seni elleri üzerinde taşıyacaklar.’”
Then, the adversary taketh him with him, unto the holy city, —and he set him upon the pinnacle of the temple;
and saith to him—If thou art God’s, Son, cast thyself down, —for it is written, To his messengers, will he give charge concerning thee; and, on hands, will they bear thee up, lest once thou strike, against a stone, thy foot.
7 İsa İblis'e şu karşılığı verdi: “‘Tanrın Rab'bi denemeyeceksin’ diye de yazılmıştır.”
Jesus said to him, Again, it is written, —Thou shalt not put to the test, the Lord thy God.
8 İblis bu kez İsa'yı çok yüksek bir dağa çıkardı. O'na bütün görkemiyle dünya ülkelerini göstererek,
Again, the adversary taketh him with him, into an exceeding high mountain, —and pointeth out to him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory;
9 “Yere kapanıp bana taparsan, bütün bunları sana vereceğim” dedi.
and said to him, All these things, will I give thee, —if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 İsa ona şöyle karşılık verdi: “Çekil git, Şeytan! ‘Tanrın Rab'be tapacak, yalnız O'na kulluk edeceksin’ diye yazılmıştır.”
Then saith Jesus unto him, Withdraw, Satan! for it is written, —The Lord thy God, shalt thou worship, and, to him alone, render divine service.
11 Bunun üzerine İblis İsa'yı bırakıp gitti. Melekler gelip İsa'ya hizmet ettiler.
Then, the adversary leaveth him, —and lo! messengers came near, and began ministering unto him.
12 İsa, Yahya'nın tutuklandığını duyunca Celile'ye döndü.
And, hearing that, John, had been delivered up, he retired into Galilee;
13 Nasıra'dan ayrılarak Zevulun ve Naftali yöresinde, Celile Gölü kıyısında bulunan Kefarnahum'a yerleşti.
and, forsaking Nazareth, he came and fixed his dwelling in Capernaum, which was by the lake, —within the bounds of Zebulun and Naphtali:
14 Bu, Peygamber Yeşaya aracılığıyla bildirilen şu söz yerine gelsin diye oldu: “Zevulun ve Naftali bölgeleri, Şeria Irmağı'nın ötesinde, Deniz Yolu'nda, Ulusların yaşadığı Celile!
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
Land of Zebulun, and land of Naphtali, the lake-way across the Jordan, —Galilee of the nations,
16 Karanlıkta yaşayan halk, Büyük bir ışık gördü. Ölümün gölgelediği diyarda Yaşayanlara ışık doğdu.”
The people that was sitting in darkness, a great light, beheld, —and, on them who were sitting in land and shade of death, Light rose on them.
17 O günden sonra İsa şu çağrıda bulunmaya başladı: “Tövbe edin! Çünkü Göklerin Egemenliği yaklaştı.”
From that time, began Jesus to be making proclamation, and saying, —Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens hath drawn near.
18 İsa, Celile Gölü'nün kıyısında yürürken Petrus diye de anılan Simun'la kardeşi Andreas'ı gördü. Balıkçı olan bu iki kardeş göle ağ atıyorlardı.
And, walking round beside the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren—Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, —casting a large fishing-net into the sea, for they were fishers;
19 Onlara, “Ardımdan gelin” dedi, “Sizleri insan tutan balıkçılar yapacağım.”
and he saith unto them, Come after me, —and I will make you fishers, of men.
20 Onlar da hemen ağlarını bırakıp O'nun ardından gittiler.
And, they, straightway, leaving the nets, followed him.
21 İsa daha ileri gidince başka iki kardeşi, Zebedi'nin oğulları Yakup'la Yuhanna'yı gördü. Babaları Zebedi'yle birlikte teknede ağlarını onarıyorlardı. Onları da çağırdı.
And, going forward from thence, he saw other two brethren—James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother—in the boat with Zebedee their father, putting in order their nets, —and he called them.
22 Hemen tekneyi ve babalarını bırakıp İsa'nın ardından gittiler.
And, they, straightway, leaving the boat and their father, followed him.
23 İsa, Celile bölgesinin her tarafını dolaştı. Buralardaki havralarda öğretiyor, göksel egemenliğin Müjdesi'ni duyuruyor, halk arasında rastlanan her hastalığı, her illeti iyileştiriyordu.
And Jesus was going round throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the glad-message of the kingdom, —and curing every disease, and every infirmity, among the people.
24 Ünü bütün Suriye'ye yayılmıştı. Türlü hastalıklara yakalanmış bütün hastaları, acı çekenleri, cinlileri, saralıları, felçlileri O'na getirdiler; hepsini iyileştirdi.
And forth went the report of him into all Syria; and they brought unto him all who were sick, with divers diseases and tortures, distressed, demonized and lunatic and paralyzed, —and he cured them.
25 Celile, Dekapolis, Yeruşalim, Yahudiye ve Şeria Irmağı'nın karşı yakasından gelen büyük kalabalıklar O'nun ardından gidiyordu.
And there followed him large multitudes—from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and across the Jordan.
