1 Haftanın ilk günü erkenden, ortalık daha karanlıkken Mecdelli Meryem mezara gitti. Taşın mezarın girişinden kaldırılmış olduğunu gördü.
But on the first day of the week Mary the Magdalene cometh early, while it was yet dark, to the tomb, and seeth that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
2 Koşarak Simun Petrus'a ve İsa'nın sevdiği öbür öğrenciye geldi. “Rab'bi mezardan almışlar, nereye koyduklarını da bilmiyoruz” dedi.
She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 Bunun üzerine Petrus'la öteki öğrenci dışarı çıkıp mezara yöneldiler.
Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they set out for the tomb.
4 İkisi birlikte koşuyordu. Ama öteki öğrenci Petrus'tan daha hızlı koşarak mezara önce vardı.
And they ran both together; and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb.
5 Eğilip içeri baktı, keten bezleri orada serili gördü, ama içeri girmedi.
And stooping down, he seeth the linen cloths lying; but he did not go in.
6 Ardından Simun Petrus geldi ve mezara girdi. Orada serili duran bezleri ve İsa'nın başına sarılmış olan peşkiri gördü. Peşkir keten bezlerle birlikte değildi, ayrı bir yerde dürülmüş duruyordu.
Then cometh also Simon Peter following him, and he went into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,
and the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself.
8 O zaman mezara ilk varan öteki öğrenci de içeri girdi. Olanları gördü ve iman etti.
Then therefore went in also the other disciple, who came first to the tomb; and he saw, and believed.
9 İsa'nın ölümden dirilmesi gerektiğini belirten Kutsal Yazı'yı henüz anlamamışlardı.
For not even yet did they know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
10 Bundan sonra öğrenciler yine evlerine döndüler.
So the disciples went away again to their home.
11 Meryem ise mezarın dışında durmuş ağlıyordu. Ağlarken eğilip mezarın içine baktı.
But Mary was standing without by the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she stooped down into the tomb,
12 Beyazlara bürünmüş iki melek gördü; biri İsa'nın cesedinin yattığı yerin başucunda, öteki ayakucunda oturuyordu.
and beholdeth two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
13 Meryem'e, “Kadın, niçin ağlıyorsun?” diye sordular. Meryem, “Rabbim'i almışlar” dedi. “O'nu nereye koyduklarını bilmiyorum.”
And they say to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She saith to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
14 Bunları söyledikten sonra arkasına döndü, İsa'nın orada, ayakta durduğunu gördü. Ama O'nun İsa olduğunu anlamadı.
Having said this, she turned back, and beheld Jesus standing; and knew not that it was Jesus.
15 İsa, “Kadın, niçin ağlıyorsun?” dedi. “Kimi arıyorsun?” Meryem O'nu bahçıvan sanarak, “Efendim” dedi, “Eğer O'nu sen götürdünse, nereye koyduğunu söyle de gidip O'nu alayım.”
Jesus saith to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek? She, supposing that it was the gardener, saith to him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 İsa ona, “Meryem!” dedi. O da döndü, İsa'ya İbranice, “Rabbuni!” dedi. Rabbuni, öğretmenim demektir.
Jesus saith to her, Mary! She turned and saith to him in Hebrew, Rabboni! Which signifieth, Teacher!
17 İsa, “Bana dokunma!” dedi. “Çünkü daha Baba'nın yanına çıkmadım. Kardeşlerime git ve onlara söyle, benim Babam'ın ve sizin Babanız'ın, benim Tanrım'ın ve sizin Tanrınız'ın yanına çıkıyorum.”
Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren, and say to them, I ascend to my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.
18 Mecdelli Meryem öğrencilerin yanına gitti. Onlara, “Rab'bi gördüm!” dedi. Sonra Rab'bin kendisine söylediklerini onlara anlattı.
Mary the Magdalene cometh, bringing word to the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.
19 Haftanın o ilk günü akşam olunca, öğrencilerin Yahudi yetkililerden korkusu nedeniyle bulundukları yerin kapıları kapalıyken İsa geldi, ortalarında durup, “Size esenlik olsun!” dedi.
When therefore it was evening on that day, which was the first day of the week, and the doors where the disciples were had been shut for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be to you!
20 Bunu söyledikten sonra onlara ellerini ve böğrünü gösterdi. Öğrenciler Rab'bi görünce sevindiler.
And having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 İsa yine onlara, “Size esenlik olsun!” dedi. “Baba beni gönderdiği gibi, ben de sizi gönderiyorum.”
Then he said to them again, Peace be to you! As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.
22 Bunu söyledikten sonra onların üzerine üfleyerek, “Kutsal Ruh'u alın!” dedi.
And having said this, he breathed on them, and saith to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 “Kimin günahlarını bağışlarsanız, bağışlanmış olur; kimin günahlarını bağışlamazsanız, bağışlanmamış kalır.”
Whosever sins ye remit, they are remitted to them; whosever ye retain, they are retained.
24 Onikiler'den biri, “İkiz” diye anılan Tomas, İsa geldiğinde onlarla birlikte değildi.
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 Öbür öğrenciler ona, “Biz Rab'bi gördük!” dediler. Tomas ise, “O'nun ellerinde çivilerin izini görmedikçe, çivilerin izine parmağımla dokunmadıkça ve elimi böğrüne sokmadıkça inanmam” dedi.
The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I shall not believe.
26 Sekiz gün sonra İsa'nın öğrencileri yine evdeydiler. Tomas da onlarla birlikteydi. Kapılar kapalıyken İsa gelip ortalarında durdu, “Size esenlik olsun!” dedi.
And after eight days the disciples were again within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be to you!
27 Sonra Tomas'a, “Parmağını uzat” dedi, “Ellerime bak, elini uzat, böğrüme koy. İmansız olma, imanlı ol!”
Then he saith to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach forth thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing.
28 Tomas O'nu, “Rabbim ve Tanrım!” diye yanıtladı.
Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God!
29 İsa, “Beni gördüğün için mi iman ettin?” dedi. “Görmeden iman edenlere ne mutlu!”
Jesus saith to him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they who have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 İsa, öğrencilerinin önünde, bu kitapta yazılı olmayan başka birçok doğaüstü belirti gerçekleştirdi.
Many other signs did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book.
31 Ne var ki yazılanlar, İsa'nın, Tanrı'nın Oğlu Mesih olduğuna iman edesiniz ve iman ederek O'nun adıyla yaşama kavuşasınız diye yazılmıştır.
But these have been written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life in his name.
