Eyüp 36
1 Elihu konuşmasına şöyle devam etti:
And Elihu proceeded and said,
2 “Biraz bekle, sana açıklayayım, Çünkü Tanrı için söylenecek daha çok söz var.
Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet words for God.
3 Bilgimi geniş kaynaklardan toplayacağım, Yaratıcıma hak vereceğim.
I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Creator.
4 Kuşkusuz söylediğim hiçbir şey yalan değil, Karşında bilgide yetkin biri var.
For truly my words shall be no falsehood: one perfect in knowledge is with thee.
5 “Tanrı güçlüdür, ama kimseyi hor görmez, Güçlü ve amacında kararlı.
Lo, God is mighty, but despiseth not [any]; mighty in strength of understanding:
6 Kötüleri yaşatmaz, Ezilenin hakkını verir.
He saveth not the wicked alive; but he doeth justice to the afflicted.
7 Gözlerini doğru kişiden ayırmaz, Onu krallarla birlikte tahta oturtur, Sonsuza dek yükseltir.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne doth he even set them for ever; and they are exalted.
8 Ama insanlar zincire vurulur, Baskı altında tutulurlarsa,
And if, bound in fetters, they be held in cords of affliction,
9 Onlara yaptıklarını, Gurura kapılıp isyan ettiklerini bildirir.
Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions, because they have increased.
10 Öğüdünü dinletir, Kötülükten dönmelerini buyurur.
And he openeth their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 Eğer dinler ve O'na kulluk ederlerse, Kalan günlerini bolluk, Yıllarını rahatlık içinde geçirirler.
If they hearken and serve [him], they shall accomplish their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 Ama dinlemezlerse ölür, Ders almadan yok olurlar.
But if they hearken not, they shall pass away by the sword, and expire without knowledge.
13 “Tanrısızlar öfkelerini içlerinde gizler, Kendilerini bağladığında Tanrı'dan yardım istemezler.
But the godless in heart heap up anger; they cry not when he bindeth them:
14 Genç yaşta ölüp giderler, Yaşamları putperest tapınaklarında fuhşu iş edinmiş erkekler arasında sona erer.
Their soul dieth in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15 Ama Tanrı acı çekenleri acı çektikleri için kurtarır, Düşkünlere kendini dinletir.
But he delivereth the afflicted in his affliction, and openeth their ear in [their] oppression.
16 “Evet, seni sıkıntıdan çeker çıkarırdı; Darlığın olmadığı geniş bir yere, Zengin yiyeceklerle bezenmiş bir sofraya.
Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table [would be] full of fatness.
17 Oysa şimdi kötülerin hak ettiği cezayı çekiyorsun, Yargı ve adalet yakalamış seni.
But thou art full of the judgments of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold [on thee].
18 Dikkat et, para seni baştan çıkarmasın, Büyük bir rüşvet seni saptırmasın.
Because there is wrath, [beware] lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.
19 Zenginliğin ya da bütün gücün yeter mi Sıkıntı çekmeni önlemeye?
Will he esteem thy riches? Not gold, nor all the resources of strength!
20 Halkların yeryüzünden Yok edildiği geceyi özleme.
Desire not the night, when peoples are cut off from their place.
21 Dikkat et, kötülüğe dönme, Çünkü sen onu düşkünlüğe yeğledin.
Take heed, turn not to iniquity; for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22 “İşte Tanrı gücüyle yükselir, O'nun gibi öğretmen var mı?
Lo, God is exalted in his power: who teacheth as he?
23 Kim O'na ne yapması gerektiğini söyleyebilir? Kim O'na, ‘Haksızlık ettin’ diyebilir?
Who hath appointed him his way? or who hath said, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?
24 O'nun işlerini yüceltmelisin, anımsa bunu, İnsanların ezgilerle övdüğü işlerini.
Remember that thou magnify his work, which men celebrate.
25 Bütün insanlar bunları görmüştür, Herkes onları uzaktan izler.
All men look at it; man beholdeth [it] afar off.
26 Evet, Tanrı öyle büyüktür ki, O'nu anlayamayız, Varlığının süresi hesaplanamaz.
Lo, God is great, and we comprehend [him] not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 “Su damlalarını yukarı çeker, Buharından yağmur damlatır.
For he draweth up the drops of water: they distil in rain from the vapour which he formeth,
28 Bulutlar nemini döker, İnsanların üzerine bol yağmur yağdırır.
Which the skies pour down [and] drop upon man abundantly.
29 Bulutları nasıl yaydığını, Göksel konutundan nasıl gürlediğini kim anlayabilir?
But can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, [or] the crashing of his pavilion?
30 Şimşekleri çevresine nasıl yaydığına, Denizin dibine dek nasıl ulaştırdığına bakın.
Lo, he spreadeth his light around him, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 Tanrı halkları böyle yönetir, Bol yiyecek sağlar.
For with them he judgeth the peoples; he giveth food in abundance.
32 Şimşeği elleriyle tutar, Hedefine vurmasını buyurur.
[His] hands he covereth with lightning, and commandeth it where it is to strike.
33 O'nun gürleyişi fırtınayı haber verir, Sığırlar bile fırtına kopacağını bildirir.
His thundering declareth concerning him; the cattle even, concerning its coming.
