Eyüp 34
1 Elihu konuşmasına şöyle devam etti:
Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
2 “Ey bilgeler, sözlerimi dinleyin, Kulak verin bana, ey bilgi sahipleri.
Hear my words, O ye wise [men]; and give ear to me, ye that have knowledge.
3 Çünkü damak nasıl yemeği tadarsa, Kulak da sözleri sınar.
For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth food.
4 Gelin, doğruyu seçelim, İyiyi birlikte öğrenelim.
Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what [is] good.
5 “Çünkü Eyüp, ‘Ben suçsuzum’ diyor, ‘Tanrı hakkımı elimden aldı.
For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
6 Haklı olduğum halde yalancı sayılıyorum, Suçsuz olduğum halde okunla yaraladın beni.’
Should I lie against my right? my wound [is] incurable without transgression.
7 Eyüp gibisi var mı? Alayı su gibi içiyor!
What man [is] like Job, [who] drinketh up scorning like water?
8 Kötülük yapanlarla dostluk edip geziyor, Kötülerle aynı yolda yürüyor.
Who goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
9 Çünkü, ‘Tanrı'yı hoşnut etmeye çalışmak İnsana yarar getirmez’ diyor.
For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
10 “Bu yüzden, ey sağduyulu insanlar, beni dinleyin! Tanrı kötülük yapar mı, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten haksızlık eder mi? Asla!
Therefore hearken to me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, [that he should do] wickedness; and [from] the Almighty, [that he should commit] iniquity.
11 Çünkü O herkese yaptığının karşılığını öder, Hak ettiğini başına getirir.
For the work of a man he shall render to him, and cause every man to find according to [his] ways.
12 Tanrı kesinlikle kötülük etmez, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten adaleti saptırmaz.
Yes, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
13 Kim yeryüzünü O'na emanet etti? Kim O'nu bütün dünyanın başına atadı?
Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
14 Eğer niyet eder de Ruhunu ve soluğunu geri çekerse,
If he should set his heart upon man, [if] he should gather to himself his spirit and his breath;
15 Bütün insanlık bir anda yok olur, İnsan yine toprağa döner.
All flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
16 “Aklın varsa dinle, Kulak ver sözlerime.
If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
17 Adaletten nefret eden hiç hüküm sürebilir mi? Adil ve güçlü olanı suçlayacak mısın?
Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
18 Krallara, ‘Değersizsiniz’, Soylulara, ‘Kötüsünüz’ diyen,
[Is it fit] to say to a king, [Thou art] wicked? [and] to princes, [Ye are] ungodly?
19 Önderlere ayrıcalık tanımayan, Zengini yoksuldan çok önemsemeyen O değil mi? Çünkü hepsi O'nun ellerinin işidir.
[How much less to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all [are] the work of his hands.
20 Gece yarısı bir anda ölürler, Herkes sarsılır, ölüp gider, Güçlüler de insan eli değmeden alınıp götürülür.
In a moment they shall die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
21 “Tanrı'nın gözleri insanların yolundan ayrılmaz, Attıkları her adımı görür.
For his eyes [are] upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
22 Kötülük yapanların gizlenebileceği Ne karanlık bir yer vardır, ne de ölüm gölgesi.
[There is] no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Yargılanmak için önüne gelsinler diye, Tanrı insanları sorgulamaya pek gerek duymaz.
For he will not lay upon man more [than right]; that he should enter into judgment with God.
24 Araştırmadan güçlü insanları kırar, Onların yerine başkalarını diker.
He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
25 Çünkü ne yaptıklarını bilir, Gece onları deviriverir, ezilirler.
Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth [them] in the night, so that they are destroyed.
26 Herkesin gözü önünde Kötülükleri yüzünden onları cezalandırır;
He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
27 Artık O'nun ardından gitmedikleri, Yollarının hiçbirini dikkate almadıkları için.
Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
28 Yoksulun feryadını O'na duyurdular; Düşkünlerin feryadını işitti.
So that they cause the cry of the poor to come to him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
29 Ama Tanrı sessiz kalırsa kim O'nu suçlayabilir? Yüzünü gizlerse kim O'nu görebilir? Bir ulusa karşı da bir insana karşı da O hep aynıdır,
When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth [his] face, who then can behold him? whether [it be done] against a nation, or against a man only:
30 Tanrısız insan krallık etmesin, Halka tuzak kurmasın diye.
That the hypocrite may not reign, lest the people should be ensnared.
31 “Kimse Tanrı'ya, ‘Suçluyum, artık kötülük yapmayacağım’ dedi mi,
Surely it is meet to be said to God, I have borne [chastisement], I will not offend [any more]:
32 ‘Göremediğimi sen bana öğret, Haksızlık ettimse, bir daha etmem?’
[That which] I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
33 O'nu reddettiğin halde, Senin keyfince mi seni ödüllendirmeli? Çünkü karar verecek olan sensin, ben değil, Öyleyse anlat bana bildiğini.
[Should it be] according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou shalt refuse, or whether thou shalt choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
34 “Sağduyulu insanlar, Beni dinleyen bilgeler diyecekler ki,
Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken to me.
35 ‘Eyüp bilgisizce konuşuyor, Sözlerinin değeri yok.’
Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words [were] without wisdom.
36 Kötü biri gibi yanıtladığı için Keşke Eyüp'ün sınanması sonsuza dek sürse!
My desire [is that] Job may be tried to the end, because of [his] answers for wicked men.
37 Çünkü günahına isyan da ekliyor, Önümüzde alay edercesine el çırpıyor, Tanrı'ya karşı konuştukça konuşuyor.”
For he addeth rebellion to his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
