1 Tanrı, Nuh'u ve oğullarını kutsayarak, “Verimli olun, çoğalıp yeryüzünü doldurun” dedi,
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 “Yerdeki hayvanların, gökteki kuşların tümü sizden korkup ürkecek. Yeryüzündeki bütün canlılar, denizdeki bütün balıklar sizin yönetiminize verilmiştir.
And the fear of you, and the dread of you, shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the heaven; whatever is that moveth upon the earth, and all the fishes of the sea, are delivered into your hand.
3 Bütün canlılar size yiyecek olacak. Yeşil bitkiler gibi, hepsini size veriyorum.
Every moving thing that liveth shall be yours for food; even as the green herbs have I given you all things.
4 “Yalnız kanlı et yemeyeceksiniz, çünkü kan canı içerir.
But flesh in which its life is, which is its blood, shall ye not eat.
5 Sizin de kanınız dökülürse, hakkınızı kesinlikle arayacağım. Her hayvandan hesabını soracağım. Her insandan, kardeşinin canına kıyan herkesten hakkınızı arayacağım.
Your blood, however, on which your lives depend, will I require: at the hand of every beast will I require it; and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
6 “Kim insan kanı dökerse, Kendi kanı da insan tarafından dökülecektir. Çünkü Tanrı insanı kendi suretinde yarattı.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made he man.
7 Verimli olun, çoğalın. Yeryüzünde üreyin, artın.”
And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly on the earth, and multiply thereon.
8 Tanrı Nuh'a ve oğullarına şöyle dedi:
And God spoke unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 “Sizinle ve gelecek kuşaklarınızla, sizinle birlikteki bütün canlılarla –kuşlar, evcil ve yabanıl hayvanlar, gemiden çıkan bütün hayvanlarla– antlaşmamı sürdürmek istiyorum.
And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you, from all those that go out of the ark, for every beast of the earth.
11 Sizinle antlaşmamı sürdüreceğim: Bir daha tufanla bütün canlılar yok olmayacak. Yeryüzünü yok eden tufan bir daha olmayacak.”
And I will establish my covenant with you; and all flesh shall not be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 Tanrı şöyle sürdürdü konuşmasını: “Sizinle ve bütün canlılarla kuşaklar boyu sonsuza dek sürecek antlaşmamın belirtisi şu olacak:
And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations.
13 Yayımı bulutlara yerleştireceğim ve bu, yeryüzüyle aramdaki antlaşmanın belirtisi olacak.
My bow I do set in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 Yeryüzüne ne zaman bulut göndersem, yayım bulutların arasında ne zaman görünse,
And it shall come to pass, that, when I bring a cloud over the earth, and the bow shall be seen in the cloud,
15 sizinle ve bütün canlı varlıklarla yaptığım antlaşmayı anımsayacağım: Canlıları yok edecek bir tufan bir daha olmayacak.
I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 Ne zaman bulutlarda yay görünse, ona bakıp yeryüzünde yaşayan bütün canlılarla yaptığım sonsuza dek geçerli antlaşmayı anımsayacağım.”
And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature, of all flesh, that is upon the earth.
17 Tanrı Nuh'a, “Kendimle yeryüzündeki bütün canlılar arasında sürdüreceğim antlaşmanın belirtisi budur” dedi.
And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.
18 Gemiden çıkan Nuh'un oğulları Sam, Ham ve Yafet idi. Ham Kenan'ın babasıydı.
And the sons of Noah that went forth from the ark, were Shem, Ham and Japheth; and Ham was the father of Canaan.
19 Nuh'un üç oğlu bunlardı. Yeryüzüne yayılan bütün insanlar onlardan üredi.
These three were the sons of Noah, and of them was the whole earth overspread.
20 Nuh çiftçiydi, ilk bağı o dikti.
And Noah, who was a husbandman, began his work, and he planted a vineyard.
21 Şarap içip sarhoş oldu, çadırının içinde çırılçıplak uzandı.
And he drank of the wine, and became drunken; and he uncovered himself within his tent.
22 Kenan'ın babası olan Ham babasının çıplak olduğunu görünce dışarı çıkıp iki kardeşine anlattı.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told it his two brothers without.
23 Sam'la Yafet bir giysi alıp omuzlarına attılar, geri geri yürüyerek çıplak babalarını örttüler. Babalarını çıplak görmemek için yüzlerini öbür yana çevirdiler.
And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon the shoulders of both of them, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were turned backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
24 Nuh ayılınca küçük oğlunun ne yaptığını anlayarak,
And Noah awoke from his wine, and discovered what his younger son had done unto him.
25 şöyle dedi: “Kenan'a lanet olsun, Köleler kölesi olsun kardeşlerine.
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 Övgüler olsun Sam'ın Tanrısı RAB'be, Kenan Sam'a kul olsun.
And he said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem; and Canaan shall be a servant unto them.
27 Tanrı Yafet'e bolluk versin, Sam'ın çadırlarında yaşasın, Kenan Yafet'e kul olsun.”
May God enlarge the boundaries of Japheth, and may he dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be a servant unto them.
28 Nuh tufandan sonra üç yüz elli yıl daha yaşadı.
And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
29 Toplam dokuz yüz elli yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.
