1 Adem soyunun öyküsü: Tanrı insanı yarattığında onu kendine benzer kıldı.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. On the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him:
2 Onları erkek ve dişi olarak yarattı ve kutsadı. Yaratıldıkları gün onlara “İnsan” adını verdi.
Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, on the day when they were created.
3 Adem 130 yaşındayken kendi suretinde, kendisine benzer bir oğlu oldu. Ona Şit adını verdi.
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his likeness, after his image; and called his name Sheth.
4 Şit'in doğumundan sonra Adem 800 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And the days of Adam after he had begotten Sheth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
5 Adem toplam 930 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
6 Şit 105 yaşındayken oğlu Enoş doğdu.
And Sheth lived a hundred and five years, and begat Enosh.
7 Enoş'un doğumundan sonra Şit 807 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Sheth lived after he had begotten Enosh eight hundred and seven years; and he begat sons and daughters.
8 Şit toplam 912 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Sheth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
9 Enoş 90 yaşındayken oğlu Kenan doğdu.
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan.
10 Kenan'ın doğumundan sonra Enoş 815 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Enosh lived after he had begotten Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years; and he begat sons and daughters.
11 Enoş toplam 905 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
12 Kenan 70 yaşındayken oğlu Mahalalel doğdu.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalalel.
13 Mahalalel'in doğumundan sonra Kenan 840 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Kenan lived after he had begotten Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years; and he begat sons and daughters
14 Kenan toplam 910 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
15 Mahalalel 65 yaşındayken oğlu Yeret doğdu.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared.
16 Yeret'in doğumundan sonra Mahalalel 830 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Mahalalel lived after he had begotten Jared eight hundred and thirty years; and he begat sons and daughters.
17 Mahalalel toplam 895 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years; and he died.
18 Yeret 162 yaşındayken oğlu Hanok doğdu.
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begat Enoch.
19 Hanok'un doğumundan sonra Yeret 800 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Jared lived after he had begotten Enoch eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters.
20 Yeret toplam 962 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years; and he died.
21 Hanok 65 yaşındayken oğlu Metuşelah doğdu.
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methushelah.
22 Metuşelah'ın doğumundan sonra Hanok 300 yıl Tanrı yolunda yürüdü. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years; and begat sons and daughters.
23 Hanok toplam 365 yıl yaşadı.
And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years.
24 Tanrı yolunda yürüdü, sonra ortadan kayboldu; çünkü Tanrı onu yanına almıştı.
And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more; for God had taken him.
25 Metuşelah 187 yaşındayken oğlu Lemek doğdu.
And Methushelah lived a hundred eighty and seven years and begat Lemech.
26 Lemek'in doğumundan sonra Metuşelah 782 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Methushelah lived after he had begotten Lemech seven hundred eighty and two years; and he begat sons and daughters.
27 Metuşelah toplam 969 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Methushelah were nine hundred sixty and nine years; and he died.
28 Lemek 182 yaşındayken bir oğlu oldu.
And Lemech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son.
29 “RAB'bin lanetlediği bu toprak yüzünden çektiğimiz eziyeti, harcadığımız emeği bu çocuk hafifletip bizi rahatlatacak” diyerek çocuğa Nuh adını verdi.
And he called his name Noach, [[Noah, ]] saying, This one shall comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 Nuh'un doğumundan sonra Lemek 595 yıl daha yaşadı. Başka oğulları, kızları oldu.
And Lemech lived after he had begotten Noah five hundred ninety and five years; and begat sons and daughters.
31 Lemek toplam 777 yıl yaşadıktan sonra öldü.
And all the days of Lemech were seven hundred seventy and seven years; and he died.
32 Nuh 500 yıl yaşadıktan sonra Sam, Ham, Yafet adlı oğulları doğdu.
And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
