1 Yakup oğullarını çağırarak, “Yanıma toplanın” dedi, “Gelecekte size neler olacağını anlatayım.
And Jacob called to his sons, and said, Assemble yourselves, that I may tell you [that] which shall befall you in the last days.
2 “Yakupoğulları, toplanın ve dinleyin, Babanız İsrail'e kulak verin.
Assemble yourselves, and hear, ye sons of Jacob: and hearken to Israel your father.
3 “Ruben, sen benim ilk oğlum, gücümsün, Kudretimin ilk ürünüsün, Saygı ve güç bakımından en üstünsün.
Reuben, thou [art] my first-born, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellence of dignity, and the excellence of power:
4 Ama su gibi oynaksın, Üstün olmayacaksın artık. Çünkü babanın yatağına girip Onu kirlettin. Döşeğimi rezil ettin.
Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; then defiledst thou [it]; he went up to my couch.
5 “Şimon'la Levi kardeştir, Kılıçları şiddet kusar.
Simeon and Levi [are] brethren: instruments of cruelty [are in], their habitations.
6 Gizli tasarılarına ortak olmam, Toplantılarına katılmam. Çünkü öfkelenince adam öldürdüler, Canları istedikçe sığırları sakatladılar.
O my soul, come not thou into their secret; to their assembly, my honor, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they digged down a wall.
7 Lanet olsun öfkelerine, Çünkü şiddetlidir. Lanet olsun gazaplarına, Çünkü zalimcedir. Onları Yakup'ta bölecek Ve İsrail'de dağıtacağım.
Cursed [be] their anger, for [it was] fierce: and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

Judah, thou [art he] whom thy brethren shall praise; thy hand [shall be] on the neck of thy enemies: thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
9 Yahuda bir aslan yavrusudur. Oğlum benim! Avından dönüp yere çömelir, Aslan gibi, dişi bir aslan gibi yatarsın. Kim onu uyandırmaya cesaret edebilir?
Judah [is] a lion's whelp; from the prey, my son, thou hast gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion: who shall rouse him up?
10 Sahibi gelene kadar Krallık asası Yahuda'nın elinden çıkmayacak, Yönetim hep onun soyunda kalacak, Uluslar onun sözünü dinleyecek.
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh shall come: and to him [shall be] the gathering of the people.
11 Eşeğini bir asmaya, Sıpasını seçme bir dala bağlayacak; Giysilerini şarapta, Kaftanını üzümün kızıl kanında yıkayacak.
Binding his foal to the vine, and his ass's colt to the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
12 Gözleri şaraptan kızıl, Dişleri sütten beyaz olacak.
His eyes [shall be] red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
13 “Zevulun deniz kıyısında yaşayacak, Liman olacak gemilere, Sınırı Sayda'ya dek uzanacak.
Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he [shall be] for a haven of ships; and his border [shall be] to Zidon.
14 “İssakar semerler arasında yatan güçlü eşek gibidir;
Issachar [is] a strong ass, couching down between two burdens:
15 Ne zaman dinlenecek iyi bir yer, Hoşuna giden bir ülke görse, Yüklenmek için sırtını eğer, Angaryaya katlanır.
And he saw that rest [was] good, and the land that [it was] pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant to tribute.
16 “Dan kendi halkını yönetecek, Bir İsrail oymağı gibi.
Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Yol kenarında bir yılan, Toprak yolda bir engerek olacak; Atın topuklarını ısırıp Atlıyı sırtüstü düşüren bir engerek.
Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse-heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
18 “Ben senin kurtarışını bekliyorum, ya RAB.
I have waited for thy salvation O LORD.
19 “Gad akıncıların saldırısına uğrayacak, Ama onların topuklarına saldıracak.
Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.
20 “Zengin yemekler olacak Aşer'de, Krallara yaraşır lezzetli yiyecekler yetiştirecek Aşer.
Out of Asher his bread [shall be] fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.
21 “Naftali salıverilmiş geyiğe benzer, Sevimli yavrular doğurur.
Naphtali [is] a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.
22 “Yusuf meyveli bir dal gibidir, Kaynak kıyısında verimli bir dal gibi, Filizleri duvarların üzerinden aşar.
Joseph [is] a fruitful bough, [even] a fruitful bough by a well; [whose] branches run over the wall:
23 Okçular acımadan saldırdı ona. Düşmanca savurdular oklarını üzerine.
The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot [at him], and hated him:
24 Ama onun yayı sağlam, Kolları esnek çıktı; Yakup'un güçlü Tanrısı, İsrail'in Kayası, Çobanı olan Tanrı sayesinde.
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty [God] of Jacob: from thence [is] the shepherd the stone of Israel:
25 Sana yardım eden babanın Tanrısı'dır, Her Şeye Gücü Yeten Tanrı'dır seni kutsayan. Yukarıdaki göklerin Ve aşağıdaki denizlerin bereketiyle, Memelerin, rahimlerin bereketiyle O'dur seni kutsayan.
[Even] by the God of thy father, who shall help thee, and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth beneath, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
26 Babanın kutsamaları ebedi dağların nimetlerinden, Ebedi tepelerin bolluğundan daha yücedir; Yusuf'un başı üzerinde, Kardeşleri arasında önder olanın üstünde olacak.
The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills; they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
27 “Benyamin aç kurda benzer; Sabah avını yer, Akşam ganimeti paylaşır.”
Benjamin shall raven [as] a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.
28 İsrail'in on iki oymağı bunlardır. Babaları onları kutsarken bunları söyledi. Her birini uygun biçimde kutsadı.
All these [are] the twelve tribes of Israel: and this [is it] which their father spoke to them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.
29 Sonra Yakup oğullarına şu buyrukları verdi: “Ben ölmek, halkıma kavuşmak üzereyim. Beni Kenan ülkesinde atalarımın yanına, Mamre yakınlarında Hititli Efron'un tarlasındaki mağaraya, Makpela Tarlası'ndaki mağaraya gömün. İbrahim o mağarayı mezar yapmak üzere Hititli Efron'dan tarlasıyla birlikte satın almıştı.
And he charged them, and said to them, I am to be gathered to my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that [is] in the field of Ephron the Hittite.
In the cave that [is] in the field of Machpelah, which [is] before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a burying-place.
31 İbrahim'le karısı Sara, İshak'la karısı Rebeka oraya gömüldüler. Lea'yı da ben oraya gömdüm.
(There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah, )
32 Tarla ile içindeki mağara Hititler'den satın alındı.”
The purchase of the field and of the cave that [is] in it, [was] from the children of Heth.
33 Yakup oğullarına verdiği buyrukları bitirince, ayaklarını yatağın içine çekti, son soluğunu vererek halkına kavuştu.
And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he drew his feet into the bed, and expired, and was gathered to his people.
