1 Aynı şekilde Konya'da da Yahudiler'in havrasına giren Pavlus'la Barnaba öyle etkili konuştular ki, hem Yahudiler'den hem de Grekler'den çok kişi iman etti.
And it came to pass in Iconium at this time, they came together into the synagogue of the Jews, and spoke in such a manner, that a great multitude both of the Jews and Greeks believed.
2 Ama inanmayan Yahudiler, öteki uluslardan olanları kardeşlere karşı kışkırtarak zihinlerini bulandırdılar.
But the unbelieving Jews stirred up and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against the brethren.
3 Orada uzunca bir süre kalan Pavlus'la Barnaba, Rab hakkında cesaretle konuşuyorlardı. Rab de onlara belirtiler ve harikalar yapma gücü vererek kendi lütfunu açıklayan bildiriyi doğruladı.
Then indeed preaching boldly in behalf of the Lord, witnessing to the word of His grace, giving signs and wonders to be wrought by their hands, they spent much time.

And the multitude of the city was divided: and some indeed were with the Jews, and some with the apostles.
5 Yahudiler'le öteki uluslardan olanlar ve bunların yöneticileri, elçileri hırpalayıp taşa tutmak için düzen kurdular.
And when there was a conspiracy of both Gentiles and Jews along with their leaders, to insult and stone them,
6 Bunu öğrenen Pavlus'la Barnaba, Likaonya'nın Listra ve Derbe kentlerine ve çevre bölgeye kaçarak oralarda da Müjde'yi yaydılar.
recognizing it, they fled into the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, and Derbe, and the surrounding country;
and there they preached the gospel.
8 Listra'da, ayakları tutmayan bir adam vardı. Doğuştan kötürümdü, hiç yürüyemiyordu.
And there was a certain man sitting there in Lystra, impotent in his feet, being lame from the womb of his mother, who never did walk about.
9 Pavlus'un söylediklerini dinledi. Onu dikkatle süzen Pavlus, iyileştirilebileceğine imanı olduğunu görerek yüksek sesle ona, “Kalk, ayaklarının üzerinde dur!” dedi. Adam yerinden fırlayıp yürümeye başladı.
He heard Paul speaking, who fixing his attention on him, and seeing that he had faith to be saved,
said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and continued to walk around.
11 Pavlus'un ne yaptığını gören halk Likaonya dilinde, “Tanrılar insan kılığına girip yanımıza inmiş!” diye haykırdı.
And the multitudes seeing what Paul did, lifted up their voice, in Lycaonic, saying, The gods having assumed the likeness of men have come down to us:
12 Barnaba'ya Zeus, Pavlus'a da konuşmada öncülük ettiği için Hermes adını taktılar.
and they were calling Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, since he was the leader of the speech.
13 Kentin hemen dışında bulunan Zeus Tapınağı'nın kâhini kent kapılarına boğalar ve çelenkler getirdi, halkla birlikte elçilere kurban sunmak istedi.
And the priest of Jupiter, being in front of the city, having brought oxen and garlands to the gate, wished to offer sacrifices to them, along with the multitudes.
14 Ne var ki elçiler, Barnaba'yla Pavlus, bunu duyunca giysilerini yırtarak kalabalığın içine daldılar.
And the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, hearing, rending their garments, rushed into the crowd, crying out, and saying,
15 “Efendiler, neden böyle şeyler yapıyorsunuz?” diye bağırdılar. “Biz de sizin gibi insanız, aynı yaradılışa sahibiz. Size müjde getiriyoruz. Sizi bu boş şeylerden vazgeçmeye, yeri, göğü, denizi ve bunların içindekilerin hepsini yaratan, yaşayan Tanrı'ya dönmeye çağırıyoruz.
Men, why are you doing these things? We are also men of like suffering with you, preaching the gospel to you that you should turn from these vanities to the living God, who created the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things which are in them:
16 Geçmiş çağlarda Tanrı, bütün ulusların kendi yollarından gitmelerine izin verdi.
who in bygone generations, suffered all nations to walk in their own ways;
17 Yine de kendini tanıksız bırakmadı. Size iyilik ediyor. Gökten yağmur yağdırıyor, çeşitli ürünleriyle mevsimleri düzenliyor, sizi yiyecekle doyurup yüreklerinizi sevinçle dolduruyor.”
indeed he did not leave himself without witnesses, doing good, giving to you the rains from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
18 Bu sözlerle bile halkın kendilerine kurban sunmasını güçlükle engelleyebildiler.
And speaking these things they scarcely restrained the multitude from offering sacrifices to them.
19 Ne var ki, Antakya ve Konya'dan gelen bazı Yahudiler, halkı kendi taraflarına çekerek Pavlus'u taşladılar; onu ölmüş sanarak kentin dışına sürüklediler.
But the Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having persuaded the multitudes, stoned Paul, dragged him out of the city, thinking that he was dead;
20 Ama öğrenciler çevresinde toplanınca Pavlus ayağa kalkıp kente döndü. Ertesi gün Barnaba'yla birlikte Derbe'ye gitti.
but, the disciples having surrounded him, rising up, he came into the city. And on the following day he came with Barnabas into Derbe;
21 O kentte de Müjde'yi duyurup birçok öğrenci edindiler. Pavlus'la Barnaba daha sonra Listra, Konya ve Antakya'ya dönerek öğrencileri ruhça pekiştirdiler, imana bağlı kalmaları için onlara cesaret verdiler. “Tanrı'nın Egemenliği'ne, birçok sıkıntıdan geçerek girmemiz gerekir” diyorlardı.
and preaching the gospel to that city, and making many disciples, they returned into Lystra, and into Iconium, and into Antioch,
strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and it behooves them through many tribulations to enter into the kingdom of God.
23 İmanlılar için her kilisede ihtiyarlar seçtiler. Dua ve oruçla onları, inandıkları Rab'be emanet ettiler.
And electing elders for them in every church, praying with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
24 Pisidya bölgesinden geçerek Pamfilya'ya geldiler.
And having come through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia.
25 Perge'de Tanrı sözünü bildirdikten sonra Antalya'ya gittiler.
And having spoken the word in Perge, they came down into Attalia;
26 Oradan gemiyle, artık tamamlamış bulundukları görev için Tanrı'nın lütfuna emanet edildikleri yer olan Antakya'ya döndüler.
and thence they sailed away into Antioch, whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 Oraya vardıklarında inanlılar topluluğunu bir araya getirip Tanrı'nın kendileri aracılığıyla neler yaptığını, öteki uluslara iman kapısını nasıl açtığını anlattılar.
And arriving, and convening the church, they reported so many things as God did with them, and that He opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.
28 Oradaki öğrencilerin yanında uzun bir süre kaldılar.
And they spent no small time with the disciples.
