1 Bir gün peygamber topluluğu Elişa'ya, “Bak, yaşadığımız yer bize küçük geliyor” dedi,
and to say son: child [the] prophet to(wards) Elisha behold please [the] place which we to dwell there to/for face your narrow from us
2 “Lütfen izin ver, Şeria Irmağı kıyısına gidelim, ağaç kesip kendimize ev yapalım.” Elişa, “Gidin” dedi.
to go: went please till [the] Jordan and to take: take from there man: anyone beam one and to make to/for us there place to/for to dwell there and to say to go: went
3 Peygamberlerden biri, “Lütfen kullarınla birlikte sen de gel” dedi. Elişa, “Olur, gelirim” diye karşılık verdi
and to say [the] one be willing please and to go: went with servant/slave your and to say I to go: went
4 ve onlarla birlikte gitti. Şeria Irmağı kıyısına varınca ağaç kesmeye başladılar.
and to go: went with them and to come (in): come [the] Jordan [to] and to cut [the] tree
5 Biri ağaç keserken balta demirini suya düşürdü. “Eyvah, efendim! Onu ödünç almıştım” diye bağırdı.
and to be [the] one to fall: fell(trees) [the] beam and [obj] [the] iron to fall: fell(trees) to(wards) [the] water and to cry and to say alas! lord my and he/she/it to ask
6 Tanrı adamı, “Nereye düştü?” diye sordu. Adam ona demirin düştüğü yeri gösterdi. Elişa bir dal kesip oraya atınca, balta demiri su yüzüne çıktı.
and to say man [the] God where? to fall: fall and to see: see him [obj] [the] place and to shear tree: stick and to throw there [to] and to flow [the] iron
7 Elişa, “Al onu!” dedi. Adam elini uzatıp balta demirini aldı.
and to say to exalt to/for you and to send: reach hand his and to take: take him
8 Aram Kralı İsrail'le savaş halindeydi. Görevlilerine danıştıktan sonra, “Ordugahımı kuracak bir yer seçtim” dedi.
and king Syria to be to fight in/on/with Israel and to advise to(wards) servant/slave his to/for to say to(wards) place someone someone encampment my
9 Tanrı adamı Elişa, İsrail Kralı'na şu haberi gönderdi: “Sakın oradan geçmeyin, çünkü Aramlılar oraya doğru iniyorlar.”

10 İsrail Kralı adam gönderip oradaki durumu denetledi. Böylece Tanrı adamı İsrail Kralı'nı birkaç kez uyardı. Kral da önlem aldı.

11 Bu durum Aram Kralı'nı çok öfkelendirdi. Görevlilerini çağırıp, “İçinizden hanginizin İsrail Kralı'ndan yana olduğunu söylemeyecek misiniz?” dedi.

12 Görevlilerden biri, “Hiçbirimiz, efendimiz kral” diye karşılık verdi, “Yalnız İsrail'de yaşayan Peygamber Elişa senin yatak odanda söylediklerini bile İsrail Kralı'na bildiriyor.”

13 Aram Kralı şöyle buyurdu: “Gidip onun nerede olduğunu öğrenin. Adam gönderip onu yakalayacağım.” Elişa'nın Dotan'da olduğu bildirilince,

14 kral oraya atlılar, savaş arabaları ve büyük bir kuvvet gönderdi. Geceleyin varıp kenti kuşattılar.

15 Tanrı adamının uşağı erkenden kalktı. Dışarıya çıkınca kentin askerler, atlılar ve savaş arabalarınca kuşatıldığını gördü. Dönüp Elişa'ya, “Eyvah, efendim, ne yapacağız?” diye sordu.

16 Elişa, “Korkma, çünkü bizim yandaşlarımız onlarınkinden daha çok” diye karşılık verdi.
and to say not to fear for many which with us from whence with them
17 Sonra şöyle dua etti: “Ya RAB, lütfen onun gözlerini aç, görsün!” RAB uşağın gözlerini açtı. Uşak Elişa'nın çevresindeki dağların atlılarla, ateşten savaş arabalarıyla dolu olduğunu gördü.
and to pray Elisha and to say LORD to open please [obj] eye his and to see: see and to open LORD [obj] eye [the] youth and to see: see and behold [the] mountain: mount to fill horse and chariot fire around Elisha
18 Aramlılar kendisine doğru ilerleyince Elişa RAB'be şöyle yalvardı: “Ya RAB, lütfen bu halkı kör et.” RAB Elişa'nın yalvarışını duydu ve onları kör etti.
and to go down to(wards) him and to pray Elisha to(wards) LORD and to say to smite please [obj] [the] nation [the] this in/on/with blindness and to smite them in/on/with blindness like/as word Elisha
19 Bunun üzerine Elişa onlara, “Yanlış yoldasınız” dedi, “Aradığınız kent bu değil. Beni izleyin, sizi aradığınız adama götüreyim.” Sonra onları Samiriye'ye götürdü.

20 Samiriye'ye girdiklerinde Elişa şöyle dua etti: “Ya RAB, bu adamların gözlerini aç, görsünler.” RAB gözlerini açınca adamlar Samiriye'nin ortasında olduklarını anladılar.
and to be like/as to come (in): come they Samaria and to say Elisha LORD to open [obj] eye these and to see: see and to open LORD [obj] eye their and to see: see and behold in/on/with midst Samaria
21 İsrail Kralı adamları görünce Elişa'ya, “Onları öldüreyim mi? Öldüreyim mi, baba?” dedi.
and to say king Israel to(wards) Elisha like/as to see: see he [obj] them to smite to smite father my
22 Elişa, “Hayır, öldürme” diye karşılık verdi, “Kendi kılıç ve yayınla tutsak aldığın insanları nasıl öldürürsün. Önlerine yiyecek içecek bir şeyler koy, yiyip içtikten sonra izin ver, krallarına dönsünler.”
and to say not to smite which to take captive in/on/with sword your and in/on/with bow your you(m. s.) to smite to set: make food: bread and water to/for face: before their and to eat and to drink and to go: went to(wards) lord their
23 Bunun üzerine İsrail Kralı adamlara büyük bir şölen verdi, yedirip içirdikten sonra da onları krallarına gönderdi. Aramlı akıncılar bir daha İsrail topraklarına ayak basmadılar.
and to feed to/for them feast great: large and to eat and to drink and to send: depart them and to go: went to(wards) lord their and not to add: again still band Syria to/for to come (in): come in/on/with land: country/planet Israel
24 Bir süre sonra, Aram Kralı Ben-Hadat bütün ordusunu toplayıp İsrail'e girdi ve Samiriye'yi kuşattı.

25 Samiriye'de büyük bir kıtlık oldu. Kuşatma sonunda bir eşek kellesinin fiyatı seksen şekel gümüşe, dörtte bir kav güvercin gübresinin fiyatı ise beş şekel gümüşe çıktı.
and to be famine great: large in/on/with Samaria and behold to confine upon her till to be head donkey in/on/with eighty silver: money and fourth [the] kab (quano *Q(K)*) in/on/with five silver: money
26 İsrail Kralı surların üzerinde yürürken, bir kadın, “Efendim kral, bana yardım et!” diye seslendi.
and to be king Israel to pass upon [the] wall and woman to cry to(wards) him to/for to say to save [emph?] lord my [the] king
27 Kral, “RAB sana yardım etmiyorsa, ben nasıl yardım edebilirim ki?” diye karşılık verdi, “Buğday mı, yoksa şarap mı istersin?
and to say not to save you LORD from where? to save you from [the] threshing floor or from [the] wine
28 Derdin ne?” Kadın şöyle yanıtladı: “Geçen gün şu kadın bana dedi ki, ‘Oğlunu ver, bugün yiyelim, yarın da benim oğlumu yeriz.’
and to say to/for her [the] king what? to/for you and to say [the] woman [the] this to say to(wards) me to give: give [obj] son: child your and to eat him [the] day and [obj] son: child my to eat tomorrow
29 Böylece oğlumu pişirip yedik. Ertesi gün ona, ‘Oğlunu ver de yiyelim’ dedim. Ama o, oğlunu gizledi.”
and to boil [obj] son: child my and to eat him and to say to(wards) her in/on/with day [the] another to give: give [obj] son: child your and to eat him and to hide [obj] son: child her
30 Kadının bu sözlerini duyan kral giysilerini yırttı. Surların üzerinde yürürken, halk onun giysilerinin altına çul giydiğini gördü.
and to be like/as to hear: hear [the] king [obj] word [the] woman and to tear [obj] garment his and he/she/it to pass upon [the] wall and to see: see [the] people and behold [the] sackcloth upon flesh his from house: inside
31 Kral, “Eğer bugün Şafat oğlu Elişa'nın başı yerinde kalırsa, Tanrı bana aynısını, hatta daha kötüsünü yapsın!” dedi.
and to say thus to make: do to/for me God and thus to add if to stand: stand head Elisha son: child Shaphat upon him [the] day: today
32 Elişa o sırada halkın ileri gelenleriyle birlikte evinde oturuyordu. Kral önden bir haberci gönderdi. Ama daha haberci gelmeden, Elişa ileri gelenlere, “Görüyor musunuz caniyi?” dedi, “Kalkmış, başımı kestirmek için adam gönderiyor! Haberci geldiğinde kapıyı kapayın, onu içeri almayın. Çünkü ardından efendisi kral da gelecek.”

33 Elişa konuşmasını bitirmeden, haberci yanına geldi ve, “Bu felaket RAB'dendir” dedi, “Neden hâlâ RAB'bi bekleyeyim?”
still he to speak: speak with them and behold [the] messenger to go down to(wards) him and to say behold this [the] distress: harm from with LORD what? to wait: wait to/for LORD still
