1 Yoşiya Yeruşalim'de RAB için Fısıh Bayramı'nı kutladı. Birinci ayın on dördüncü günü Fısıh kurbanı kesildi.

And Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem; and they killed the passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the first month.

2 Yoşiya kâhinleri görevlerine atayarak RAB'bin Tapınağı'nda hizmet etmeleri için yüreklendirdi.

And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD.

3 Bütün İsrail halkını eğiten RAB'be adanmış Levililer'e, “Kutsal sandığı İsrail Kralı Davut oğlu Süleyman'ın yaptırdığı tapınağa koyun” dedi, “Bundan böyle onu omuzlarınızın üzerinde taşımayacaksınız. Şimdi Tanrınız RAB'be ve halkı İsrail'e hizmet edin.

And he said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, that were holy unto the LORD: 'Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; there shall no more be a burden upon your shoulders; now serve the LORD your God, and His people Israel.

4 İsrail Kralı Davut'la oğlu Süleyman'ın yazılı düzeni uyarınca, boylarınıza, bölüklerinize göre hazırlanın.

And prepare ye after your fathers' houses by your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son.

5 Kardeşleriniz olan halkın boylarına bağlı bölüklere yardım etmek üzere siz Levililer takımlar halinde kutsal yerde durun.

And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of your brethren the children of the people, and let there be for each a portion of a father's house of the Levites.

6 Kendinizi kutsayın ve RAB'bin Musa aracılığıyla buyurduğu gibi Fısıh kurbanlarını kesip kardeşleriniz için hazırlayın.”

And kill the passover lamb, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare for your brethren, to do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.'

7 Yoşiya Fısıh kurbanını sunmaları için oradaki halka sürüsünden otuz bin kuzuyla oğlak, üç bin de sığır bağışladı.

And Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all of them for the passover-offerings, unto all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks; these were of the king's substance.

8 Kralın önderleri de halka, kâhinlere ve Levililer'e gönülden bağışta bulundular. Tanrı Tapınağı'nın yöneticileri olan Hilkiya, Zekeriya, Yehiel de Fısıh kurbanı olarak kâhinlere iki bin altı yüz kuzuyla oğlak, üç yüz sığır verdiler.

And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover-offerings two thousand and six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

9 Konanya, kardeşleri Şemaya ile Netanel, Levililer'in önderleri Haşavya, Yeiel ve Yozavat da Fısıh kurbanı olarak Levililer'e beş bin kuzuyla oğlak, beş yüz de sığır bağışladılar.

Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brethren, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave unto the Levites for the passover-offerings five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

10 Hizmetle ilgili hazırlıklar tamamlanınca, kralın buyruğu uyarınca kâhinlerle bölüklerine göre Levililer yerlerini aldılar.

So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their courses, according to the king's commandment.

11 Fısıh kurbanları kesildi. Kâhinler kendilerine verilen kanı sunağın üzerine döktüler; Levililer de hayvanların derisini yüzdüler.

And they killed the passover lamb, and the priests dashed the blood, which they received of their hand, and the Levites flayed them.

12 Musa'nın kitabında yazılanlar uyarınca, RAB'be sunsunlar diye yakmalık sunular halk boylarının bölüklerine verilmek üzere bir yana koyuldu. Sığırlara da aynısını yaptılar.

And they removed the portions that were to be burnt, that they might give them to the divisions of the fathers' houses of the children of the people, to present unto the LORD, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen.

13 Kural uyarınca, Fısıh kurbanlarını ateşte kızarttılar; kutsal sunuları da tencerelerde, kazanlarda, tavalarda haşlayıp çabucak halka dağıttılar.

And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance; and the holy offerings sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the children of the people.

14 Bundan sonra Levililer hem kendileri, hem de kâhinler adına hazırlık yaptılar. Çünkü Harun soyundan kâhinler akşam geç vakte kadar yakmalık sunu ve yağ sunmakla uğraşıyorlardı. Bu nedenle Levililer hem kendileri, hem de Harun soyundan gelen kâhinler için hazırlık yaptılar.

And afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests; because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering the portions that were to be burnt and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

15 Asaf soyundan gelen ezgiciler Davut, Asaf, Heman ve kralın bilicisi Yedutun'un buyruğu uyarınca yerlerinde durdular. Kapı nöbetçileri de görevlerini bırakmak zorunda kalmadı, çünkü onlar için hazırlığı kardeşleri Levililer yapmıştı.

And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters were at every gate; they needed not to depart from their service, for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.

16 Böylece o gün Kral Yoşiya'nın buyruğu doğrultusunda Fısıh Bayramı'nı kutlamak ve RAB'bin sunağı üzerinde yakmalık sunular sunmak için RAB'bin hizmetiyle ilgili bütün çalışmalar tamamlandı.

So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt-offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

17 O gün orada bulunan İsrail halkı Fısıh Bayramı'nı kutladı. Mayasız Ekmek Bayramı'nı da yedi gün boyunca kutladılar.

And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

18 Peygamber Samuel'in döneminden bu yana, İsrail'de böyle bir Fısıh Bayramı kutlanmamıştı. Hiçbir İsrail kralı da Yoşiya'nın, kâhinlerin, Levililer'in, bütün Yahuda halkıyla oradaki İsrailliler'in ve Yeruşalim'de yaşayanların kutladığı gibi bir Fısıh Bayramı kutlamamıştı.

And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did any of the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19 Bu Fısıh Bayramı Yoşiya'nın krallığının on sekizinci yılında kutlandı.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this passover kept.

20 Yoşiya'nın tapınağı düzenlemesinden sonra, Mısır Kralı Neko savaşmak üzere Fırat kıyısındaki Karkamış'a yürüdü. Yoşiya da onunla savaşmak için yola çıktı.

After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates; and Josiah went out against him.

21 Ama Neko ulaklar aracılığıyla şu haberi gönderdi: “Benimle senin aranda bir anlaşmazlık yok, ey Yahuda Kralı! Bugün sana değil, savaş açtığım ülkeye karşı savaşmaya geldim. Tanrı ivedi davranmamı buyurdu. Benden yana olan Tanrı'dan sakın. Yoksa seni yok eder!”

But he sent ambassadors to him, saying: 'What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath given command to speed me; forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that He destroy thee not.'

22 Ne var ki, Yoşiya onunla savaşmaktan vazgeçmediği gibi, Tanrı'nın Neko aracılığıyla söylediği sözlere de aldırış etmedi. Kılık değiştirip Megiddo Ovası'nda Neko ile savaşmak üzere yola çıktı.

Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Neco, from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

23 Okçular Kral Yoşiya'yı vurunca, kral görevlilerine, “Beni buradan götürün, ağır yaralıyım!” dedi.

And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants: 'Have me away; for I am sore wounded.'

24 Görevlileri onu savaş arabasından çıkarıp kendisine ait başka bir arabaya koyarak Yeruşalim'e götürdüler. Yoşiya öldü ve atalarının mezarlığına gömüldü. Bütün Yahuda ve Yeruşalim halkı onun için yas tuttu.

So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

25 Yeremya Yoşiya için bir ağıt yazdı. Kadın, erkek bütün ozanlar bugüne dek ağıtlarında Yoşiya'yı anarlar. İsrail'de bir gelenek haline gelen bu ağıtlar Ağıtlar Kitabı'nda yazılıdır.

And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah; and all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations, unto this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel; and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.

26 Yoşiya'nın yaptığı öbür işler, RAB'bin Yasası'nda yazılanlara uygun bağlılığı,

Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds, according to that which is written in the Law of the LORD,

27 uygulamaları, başından sonuna dek İsrail ve Yahuda krallarının tarihinde yazılıdır.

and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
