1 Süleyman bundan sonra RAB'bin Yeruşalim'de babası Davut'a göründüğü Moriya Dağı'nda RAB'bin Tapınağı'nı yaptırmaya başladı. Yevuslu Ornan'ın olan bu harman yerini Davut sağlamıştı.
Then Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem on mount Moriah, where Jehovah appeared to David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Süleyman krallığının dördüncü yılının ikinci ayının ikinci gününde yapıyı başlattı.
And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 Tanrı'nın Tapınağı için attığı temel, eski ölçülere göre altmış arşın uzunluğunda, yirmi arşın genişliğindeydi.
Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4 Tapınağın ön cephesini boydan boya kaplayan eyvanının genişliği yirmi arşın, yüksekliği yüz yirmi arşındı. Süleyman iç duvarları saf altınla kaplattı.
And the porch that was before the house, the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty. And he overlaid it inside with pure gold.
5 Ana bölümün duvarlarını da önce çam tahtasıyla, sonra saf altınla kaplattı; hurma ağacı ve zincir motifleriyle süsletti.
And the greater house he ceiled with fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm trees and chains.
6 Tapınağı değerli taşlarla bezetti. Kullanılan altın Parvayim'den getirilmişti.
And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty. And the gold was gold of Parvaim.
7 Kirişleri, kapı eşiklerini, duvarlarla kapıları altınla kaplattı. Duvarlara Keruvlar oydurdu.
He also overlaid the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls of it, and the doors of it, with gold, and engraved cherubim on the walls.
8 En Kutsal Yer'i yaptı: Uzunluğu tapınağın genişliğine eşitti; uzunluğu da genişliği de yirmişer arşındı. En Kutsal Yer'in iç duvarlarını altı yüz talant saf altınla kaplattı.
And he made the most holy house; the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth of it twenty cubits. And he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
9 Altın çivilerin ağırlığı elli şekeldi. Süleyman yukarı odaları da altınla kaplattı.
And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.
10 En Kutsal Yer'de iki Keruv heykeli yaptırarak altınla kaplattı.
And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work, and they overlaid them with gold.
11 Keruvlar'ın kanatlarının uzunluğu yirmi arşındı. Keruvlar'dan birinin kanadı beş arşındı ve tapınağın duvarına erişiyordu. Öbür kanat da beş arşındı ve öteki Keruv'un kanadına değiyordu.
And the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long; the wing of the one was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
12 Aynı şekilde öteki Keruv'un da kanadı beş arşındı ve tapınağın duvarına erişiyordu. Öbür kanat da beş arşındı ve birinci Keruv'un kanadına değiyordu.
And the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.
13 Ayakta duran ve açılmış kanatlarının uzunluğu yirmi arşın olan Keruvlar'ın yüzü ana bölüme bakıyordu.
The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits. And they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.
14 En Kutsal Yer'in perdesi lacivert, mor, kırmızı kumaştan ve ince ketenden yapılmıştı. Üzerinde Keruv işlemeleri vardı.
And he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim thereon.
15 Süleyman otuz beşer arşın yüksekliğinde iki sütun yaptırıp tapınağın önüne diktirdi. Sütun başlıkları beşer arşın yüksekliğindeydi.
Also he made two pillars before the house of thirty-five cubits in length, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.
16 Gerdanlığa benzer zincirler yaptırarak sütunların üzerine koydurdu. Yüz nar motifi yaptırıp zincirlere taktırdı.
And he made chains in the oracle, and put them on the tops of the pillars. And he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.
17 Sütunları tapınağın önüne diktirip sağdakine Yakin, soldakine Boaz adını verdi.
And he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. And called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
